A Study on the Structure of Hybrid Magnetic Gear with Armature Type Rotor (전기자 형태의 회전자를 갖는 하이브리드 마그네틱 기어의 구조에 관한 연구)

  • When the wind speed changes rapidly, the wind turbine is stopped for the safety of the power system and the mechanical system. At that moment, the wind turbine gearbox is damaged and broken due to the contact load of the gearbox. In addition, the problems such as increasing frictional heat and deteriorate of the brake occur, because the power of the blades is transmitted directly to the brakes. This paper proposes a hybrid magnetic gear shape that solves the problem caused by the contact of the mechanical gear, which is the power transmission device of the wind power generation system, and the power cutoff system. The shape of the hybrid magnetic gearsuitable for the wind power generation system is derived through the torque and loss analysis according to the shape of the hybrid magnetic gear by using the two dimensional finite analysis method.

  • According to the law revision of TPMS mounting obligations in Korea, researches about energy harvester which is the alternative of the battery are actively performed by many groups. Because WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) has the proposition of "Install and forget" and the power supplier also has the same performance as the vehicle's lifetime. In this paper, electromagnetic induction type of energy harvester through the relative motion between the rotating wheel and the fixed brake disc is introduced by using the most efficient source as the rotating motion in the view of vehicle's mechanism. The coil on the wheel and the permanent magnet at the brake disc are arranged in several ways. These various arrangements are the number of coil turns are consisted of design variables. By using the orthogonal array to reduce the experimental cost, the optimal composition is verified through the experiment. Finally the validity of the module is considered by measuring the level of storable electrical energy.

  • In the machinery, the brake system is as important part as machine's working. The situation of emergency stop, the machine doesn't stopped would be occur big accident. This is common things for all of machinery, also for the ships. There are two kind of mooring devices are existed on the ship. One of them, the windlass winch, is used to anchor. The other, the mooring winch is used to moor the ship in pier use the rope tied to bitt on dock. In case of previously been used mooring winch made of a steel plate, and the bolt which was connect brake band and lining broken. In this study, prevent an accident find the position of stress concentration by finite element analysis program. And removed stress concentration. And search the optimum position of the separation angle to be more efficient.

A Development of Effective Educational Simulator for Electronic Control System of Automobile Chassis (섀시 전자제어 시스템의 효과적인 교육을 위한 능동형 시뮬레이터의 개발)

  • In this paper, an educational simulator of automobile chassis electronic control system was developed. The developed system is composed of three parts, a driving condition control & monitoring system, a chassis electronic system monitoring & analysis system, and a virtual simulator & educational multimedia contents. The driving condition control & monitoring system has a commercial real car simulator, hydraulic equipments for representing driving conditions, and a remote control and monitoring system. In the chassis electronic system monitoring & analysis system, information of various sensors and actuators applied to the system can be monitored by Labview programs. Finally, the suggested virtual simulator and the multimedia with 2D Flash and 3D animations can be used effectively by means of teaching materials.

Initial Sizing of a Roadable PAV Considering Airfoil and Engine Types (익형과 엔진 종류를 고려한 도로주행형 PAV 초기 사이징)

  • In many countries, there are needs of new transportations to replace ground congestions due to growing number of cars. In addition, the increase in the number of cars held by economic growth will further increase traffic congestion in the future. To overcome this problem, many researches have been performed for personal air vehicle (PAV). In this study, the wing loading and the power-to-weight ratio that are major design parameters for the sizing of roadable PAVs were calculated for different kinds of airfoil and engine types. I.e., in the sizing process, the study was conducted to determine the design point using the graphs of wing loading, power-to-weight ratio, brake horse power, and fuel efficiency for the given mission profiles considering domestic environments and the FAR PART 23 which is the GA class aircraft certification standard. As a result of sizing, using diesel engine require high maximum take-off weight, wing area, and power compared to gasoline engine due to more engine weight.

A Study on the Maintenance Policy Considering the Failure Data of the EMU Braking System and the Cost Function (전동차 제동장치의 고장데이터와 비용함수를 고려한 유지보수 정책에 관한 연구)

  • Railway vehicle equipment goes back again to the state just before when failure by the repair. In repairable system, we are interested in the failure interval. As such, a statistical model of the point process, NHPP power law is often used for the reliability analysis of a repairable system. In order to derive a quantitative reliability value of repairable system, we analyze the failure data of the air brake system of the train line 7. The quantitative value is the failure intensity function that was modified, converted into a cost-rate function. Finally we studied the optimal number and optimal interval in which the costs to a minimum consumption point as cost-rate function. The minimum cost point was 194,613 (won/day) during the total life cycle of the braking system, then the optimal interval were 2,251days and the number of optimal preventive maintenance were 7 times. Additionally, we were compared to the cost of a currently fixed interval(4Y) and the optimum interval then the optimal interval is 3,853(won/day) consuming smaller. In addition, judging from the total life, "fixed interval" is smaller than 1,157 days as "optimal interval".

  • Regenerative energy which is generated during brake periods of DC traction might cause malfunction or destruction of rectifier or any other power conversion devices caused the increment of DC line voltage. Regenerative energy storage system using super-capacitor is one of the method to control the DC line voltage safely. And super-capacitor is very important device as energy storage device. Therefore, In this paper, we designed the regenerative energy storage system using super-capacitor and propose the method about predicting the lifetime of super-capacitor established in storage system. According to the this research, we can estimate the proper replacement moment for the existed super-capacitor due to the safety of the system. And improve the reliability of regenerative energy storage system using super-capacitor.

Combustion Characteristics and Exhaust Emissions in Spark-ignition Engine Using Gasoline-ammonia (가솔린 엔진에서 가솔린-암모니아 혼합 연료의 연소 및 배기 특성)

  • The effect of gaseous ammonia direct injection on the engine performance and exhaust emissions in gasoline-ammonia dual fueled spark-ignition engine was investigated in this study. Results show that based on the gasoline contribution engine power increases as the ammonia injection timing and duration is advanced and increased, respectively. However, as the initial amount of gasoline is increased the maximum power output contribution from ammonia is reduced. For gasoline-ammonia, the appropriate injection timing is found to range from 320 BTDC at low loads to 370 BTDC at high loads and the peak pressures are slightly lower than that for gasoline due to the slow flame speed of ammonia, resulting in the reduction of combustion efficiency. The brake specific energy consumption (BSEC) for gasoline-ammonia has little difference compared to the BSEC for gasoline only. Ammonia direct injection causes slight reduction of $CO_2$ and CO for all presented loads but significantly increases HC due to the low combustion efficiency of ammonia. Also, ammonia direct injection results in both increased ammonia and NOx in the exhaust due to formation of fuel NOx and ammonia slip.

  • In these days, the researches about hybrid and fuel cell electric vehicles are actively performed due to the environmental contamination and resource exhaust. Specially, the technology of regenerative braking, converting heat energy to electric energy, is one of the most effective technologies to improve fuel economy. This paper developed a regenerative braking control algorithm that is considered vehicle stability. The vehicle has a inline motor at front drive shaft and has a EHB(Electo-hydraulic Brake) system. The control logic and regenerative braking control algorithm are analyzed by MATLAB/Simulink. The vehicle model is carried out by CarSim and the driving simulation is performed by using co-simulation of CarSim and MATLAB/Simulink. From the simulation results, a regenerative braking control algorithm is verified to improve the vehicle stability as well as fuel economy.

FLOW ANALYSIS OF THE IMPELLER WITH DIFFERENT INLET ANGLES IN THE CENTRIFUGAL PUMP (원심펌프 임펠러 입구각도 변화에 따른 유동해석)

  • This research is to investigate the performance analysis for efficient design with four different inlet angles of the centrifugal pump impeller. Assuming that the rotation speed and exit angle are fixed, Four cases of the centrifugal pumps were numerically analyzed using ANSYS FLUENT. According to the numerical results, head and pump efficiency at inlet angle of 20 degrees was highest. There is no big difference of efficiency at inlet angle of 20 degrees compared to the inlet angle 30 degrees. About 15% of efficiency at inlet angle of 20 degrees is higher than inlet angle of 40 degrees and 31% higher than inlet angle oof 50 degrees. Because there is liner functional relationship between speed and flow rate, suction flow rate at inlet angle of 20 degrees is superior to the inlet angle of 30 degrees as much as 0.89%, inlet angle of 40 degrees as 13%, inlet angle of 50 as 28.4%. Head at inlet angle of 20 degrees is superior to the inlet angle of 30 degrees as much as 0.4%, inlet angle of 40 degrees as 2.7%, inlet angle of 50 degrees as 3.2%. There should exist highest efficiency and also optimal design shape at inlet angle of 20 degrees.
