6개월령의 보스톤 테리어가 미측 음경 돌출과 불완전 형성된 포피, 이분화된 음낭, 잠복고환과 음경골 이형성을 나타내었다. 신체검사상, 요도구멍은 회음부 표면에 위치하였고 섬유성 띠는 귀두로부터 회음부에 있는 요도구멍까지 연결되어 있었다. 또한, 잘못 위치한 요도구멍을 통한 상행성 감염에 의하여 요도염을 나타내었다. 교정수술은 외부생식기 전체와 잠복고환을 절제하기 위하여 시행되었다. 포피, 음경 그리고 잠복고환은 성공적으로 절제되었다. 수술 후 요도구멍을 주기적으로 세척하고 항생제를 투여한 이후, 재발성 요도염은 사라졌다. 만약, 요도구멍의 위치가 재발성 요도염의 원인과 요실금의 주요 원인이 아니라면, 요도구멍을 재형성할 필요가 없는 이 치료법을 이용할 것을 제안한다.

A 6-year-old female Boston terrier dog was presented with seizure episode, forelimb paraparesis, excessive panting, and ataxia. On physical and neurological examination, episcleral vessel engorgement, delayed postural reaction, delayed pupillary light reflex (both direct and consensual), and crossed forelimb were noted. Serum biochemical profiles were not remarkable other than mildly elevated hepatic enzymes. On cerebrospinal fluid analysis, elevated protein concentration was observed. In magnetic resonance imaging scans, the left frontal brain lesion with ring enhancement strongly suggested the presence of intracranial tumor. Concurrently, secondary hydrocephalus and syringomyelia were also observed. The dog was euthanized at 4 months after initial presentation because of aggravated neurological signs. This case was definitely diagnosed as an intracranial anaplastic oligodendroglioma based on postmortem histopathologic examination.

7년령 수컷 핏불테리어에서 두드러진 복부팽창과 심각한 운동 불내성으로 내원했다. 진단검사에서 우심의 확장과 확연한 폐동맥의 확장, 간질성 폐침윤과 우심방과 우심실에 많은 수의 사상충이 발견 되었다. 심초음파의 컬러와 연속 도플러에서 역시 심각한 폐성 고혈압을 동반한 삼첨판과 폐동맥의 역류가 나타났다. 104마리의 심장사상충이 루프 스네어(Snare, Boston Scientific, USA)를 이용한 심장중재술을 통해 제거되었다. 사상충의 제거 후 임상컨디션은 눈에 뛰게 회복되었다. 본 증례는 한국에서 첫 번째로 시행된 루프를 이용한 사상충 제거 케이스이다.

7살의 중성화된 수컷 보스턴테리어 개가 호흡곤란과 편측성 목부위 혹으로 내원하였다. 신체검사에서 왼쪽 아래턱밑 부위의 혹이 촉진되었다. 컴퓨터단층촬영 검사 결과 이 혹은 왼쪽 혀정맥 유래의 종양으로 의심되었다. 보호자의 거부로 치료가 진행되지 못했으며 내원 10일 후 호흡부전으로 폐사하였다. 부검에서 경계가 분명한 혹이 왼쪽 후두부위에서 확인되었으며 병리조직학적, 면역조직화학적 검사가 시행되었다. 컴퓨터단층촬영, 병리조직학적, 면역조직화학적 검사를 토대로 왼쪽 혀정맥에서 유래한 목부위 곁신경절종으로 최종진단되었다. 본 증례보고는 개에서 발생한 혀정맥 유래 목부위 곁신경절종의 임상적, 컴퓨터단층촬영, 병리조직학적 및 면역조직화학적 특징들을 잘 나타내고 있다.

To determine the prevalence of breed, age, and sex of canine primary glaucoma by comparing previous reports in Korea. We included the medical records of dogs diagnosed with primary glaucoma who visited the veterinary medical teaching hospital of Seoul National University (SNU) from January 2011 to December 2020 and investigated their breed, age, and sex. All the patients underwent a full ophthalmic examination. We analyzed the results using a binary logistic regression analysis based on the Jindo dog, which was close to the mean value of the primary glaucoma incidence rate. Of the 14,587 dogs treated at the veterinary medical teaching hospital of SNU, 107 (0.73%) were diagnosed with primary glaucoma. Glaucoma occurred in 14 breeds, including the American Cocker Spaniel, Shih Tzu, Maltese, Pomeranian, Jindo dog, Mixed Breed, Pekinese, Toy Poodle, Samoyed, Shiba Inu, Miniature Pinscher, Boston Terrier, Labrador retriever, and Yorkshire Terrier. The mean age of onset of primary glaucoma was 7.8 ± 2.3 years. Primary glaucoma was observed in 53 spayed females, 11 females, 38 castrated males, and five males. Regardless of neutralization, the ratio of females to males was 1.5:1. This study showed that primary glaucoma was significantly higher in American Cocker Spaniels and higher in Shih Tzus than other breeds in Korea; they had the highest incidence of primary glaucoma at 7 and 8 years of age, respectively. Therefore, the two breeds should be carefully monitored for the occurrence of primary glaucoma when they approach 7 years of age.
