Dome Shape Design and Performance Evaluation of Composite Pressure Vessel (복합재 압력용기의 돔 형상 설계 및 성능 평가)

  • Dome shape design methods of Filament Winding (FW) composite pressure vessel, which can suggest various dome contour according to the external loading conditions, were investigated analytically and numerically. The performance indices(PV/W) of the pressure vessels with same cylinder radius and boss opening but different dome shape were evaluated by finite element analysis under the internal pressure loading condition. The analysis results showed that as the dome shape becomes flat, the performance index decreases significantly due to the reduced burst pressure. Especially, for the case of the high value of the parameter ro, the ratio between the radii of the cylinder part and the boss opening, the flat dome is disadvantageous in the aspect of the weight reduction, and additional reinforcing dome design technique should be required to increase the burst pressure. For example, above ro=0.54 condition, the dome shape change according to the loading condition could cause the low burst pressure and increase of composite weight in dome region and is not recommendable except for the special case that maximum inner volume or sufficient space between skirt and dome is the primary design objective. However, at ro=0.35, the dome shape change brings not so significant differences in the performance of FW vessel.

  • We analyze the clustering of large scale structure in the Universe in a model independent method, accounting for anisotropic effects along and transverse to the line of sight. A large sample of 690,000 galaxies from The Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopy Survey Data Release 11 are used to determine the Hubble expansion H, angular distance D_A, and growth rate GT at an effective redshift of z=0.57. After careful bias and convergence studies of the effects from small scale clustering, we find that cutting transverse separations below 40 Mpc/h delivers robust results while smaller scale data leads to a bias due to unmodelled nonlinear and velocity effects. The converged results are in agreement with concordance LCDM cosmology, general relativity, and minimal neutrino mass, all within the $68{\backslash}%$ confidence level. We also present results separately for the northern and southern hemisphere sky, finding a slight tension in the growth rate -- potentially a signature of anisotropic stress, or just covariance with small scale velocities -- but within $68{\backslash}%$ CL.

Constraints on dark radiation from cosmological probes

  • We present joint constraints on the number of effective neutrino species $N_{eff}$ and the sum of neutrino masses ${\Sigma}m_{\nu}$, based on a technique which exploits the full information contained in the one-dimensional Lyman-${\alpha}$ forest flux power spectrum, complemented by additional cosmological probes. In particular, we obtain $N_{eff}=2.91{\pm}0.22$ (95% CL) and ${\Sigma}m_{\nu}$ < 0.15 eV (95% CL) when we combine BOSS Lyman-${\alpha}$ forest data with CMB (Planck+ACT+SPT+WMAP polarization) measurements, and $N_{eff}=2.88{\pm}0.20$ (95% CL) and ${Sigma}m_{\nu}$ < 0.14 eV (95% CL) when we further add baryon acoustic oscillations. Our results tend to favor the normal hierarchy scenario for the masses of the active neutrino species, provide strong evidence for the Cosmic Neutrino Background from $N_{eff}{\approx}3$($N_{eff}=0$ is rejected at more than $14{\sigma}$), and rule out the possibility of a sterile neutrino thermalized with active neutrinos (i.e., $N_{eff}=4$) - or more generally any decoupled relativistic relic with $${\Delta}N_{eff}{\sim_=}1$$ - at a significance of over $5{\sigma}$, the strongest bound to date, implying that there is no need for exotic neutrino physics in the concordance ${\Lambda}CDM$ model.

Optimal Design of Press-Fitted Axle Shaft Considering Stress Relief (압입축의 손상저감을 위한 최적설계 연구)

  • Creation of a stress relief groove is a fairly simple yet high-performance method. During the application of this method, it is important to consider the location and size of the groove in order to achieve better performance. Consequently, this research proposes an approach for optimizing the application of the stress relief groove method to a press-fitted assembly. In a boss design, the position and diameter of the groove are configured as design variables and the design of experiments is applied. Based on this information, a 3D model is built and analyzed using the finite element analysis software ABAQUS. Meta-models are created using back-propagation neural networks. Then, deterministic optimization results obtained from a genetic algorithm are compared with the results of the finite element analysis. The temperature sensitivity of the optimized model is analyzed, and finally, reliability-based design optimization is conducted for enhancing the design quality.

  • In order to promote social responsibility, a company reads to engage in various activities to increase their competitiveness to ensure stable and continuous development. One of the activities is to input human/material resources in order to draw and develop the core abilities of member for the productivity improvement of the company. This study is concerned with capability improvement of members in relation to core company performance, the focus of the study is to identify how education training in a company may contribute to team performance by leaning transfer through empirical study. As a result of this study, it was found that the personality of members, as well as the training programs, within the company can be a significant factor for improving productivity and performance of the company. In addition, team members noted that learning transfer take place when effectively lead through the leadership of a boss and identified that this leadership ultimately has a significant effect on team performance.

  • This study began with the expectation that work spirituality according to self - sacrificing leadership of a company recognized by hotel employees could positively affect superior liking and innovation behavior. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; the exercise of authority and the self - sacrifice in reward distribution are very important in the social exchange relationship. And the experience of joy and meaning, which is a behavior that meets the values, showed that it fulfilled the sense of accomplishment that the employees realized as a value, and it increased the satisfaction of pursuing the value of the boss and participating in and contributing to the world. Moreover, the hotel employees were likely to favor the bosses when they gave up or refrained from their authority or delegated to their subordinates, or when their bosses delayed or gave up rewards that had to be distributed to them. Also, self-sacrifice on the supervisor's job assignment is considered as an essential part of inducing the innovative behavior of the subordinates, regarded as desirable behavior or qualities.

  • In this study, we developed the gear type vane damper replacing the link type through gear design using Finite Element Analysis(FEA). FEA about the pinion and the vane shaft in the boss of gear type damper for quality improvement was accomplished. We analyzed fluid flow according to angular displacement. Catched the problem of the torque and backlash bring to the pinion as structure improvement of the forced draft fan(FD FAN). Finally, we compared the gear driving result with simulation. It is the objective of the present study to identify a nonlinear flow rate control of gear type vane damper and to suggest a damper shape with a linear flow rate control. This study is related to the development of gear type vane damper change link type in forced draft fan.

  • Both peculiar velocities and errors in the assumed redshift-distance relation ("Alcock-Paczynski effect") generate correlations between clustering amplitude and orientation with respect to the line-of-sight. In this talk we propose a novel technique to extract the Alcock-Paczynski, geometric, distortion information from the anisotropic clustering of galaxies in 3-dimensional redshift space while minimizing non-linear clustering and peculiar velocity effects. We capitalize on the recent, large dataset from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III (SDSS-III), which provides a large comoving sample of the universe out to high redshift. We focus our analysis on the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS) constant mass (CMASS) sample of 549,005 bright galaxies in the redshift range 0.43

A Study on the Backward Extrusion of Internal Spline (내부 스플라인의 후방압출에 관한 연구)

  • Spline is a machine component using transmits rotating energy with grooves on internal of boss and external periphery of shaft. Internal spline is generally produced by machining process. However, to reduce manufacturing cost and save time, plastic deformation process such as backward extrusion is gradually adapted for spline production. In plastic deformation process, forming load, stress on tools and flow flaws should be taken into account to have sound products. For this purpose, kinematically admissible velocity fields for Upper Bound Method in backward extrusion of internal spline has been suggested, then forming load and relative pressure have been calculated. Internal spline forming experiments have been con-ucted under hydraulic press and the calculated forming load well predicts the load of experiment.

  • An improved hydrostatic unit(HSU) model is proposed by considering the flow loss in order to analyze the power flow characteristics of a hydromechanical transmission(HMT) and a network analysis algorithm is presented to determine the torque and speed of each element of the HMT. To calculate the torque and flow loss of a pump and a motor in HSU, an effort and flow concept is introduced, which can be used to establish a torque and speed matrix in the network analysis. It is found from the network analysis that magnitude of the HSU stroke increases to maintain the same output speed in order to compensate the flow Boss in the HSU and the efficiency of the HMT shows the lowest value in the 1st speed since the HSU has the largest flow loss in the 1st speed and the flow loss decreases as the speed ratio upshifts.
