Characteristics of exhaust from chimney of electricity generator are analyzed based on CFD when Waveguide-Below-Cutoff (WBC) array is installed in order to achieve the certain level of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) shielding. The main purpose is prediction of average and maximum velocity of exhaust. The results reveal that: 1) When the specification of waveguide is given as 80-diameter, 400-length, and the gap of 20 mm, the shielding effectiveness (SE) is 140dB. The average and maximum velocity of exhaust in the chimney with WBC Array can be represented as exponential functions. 2) As the number of WBC increases, the velocity in the chimney dwindles. 3) Under the situation that WBC with 80 mm diameter is located at intervals of 20 mm, the average velocity can be approximated by $25.5344{\times}e^{(-0.0098{\times}N_{WBC})}$ with input velocity of 15 m/s. In addition, the determination coefficient is 0.915, which is sufficiently high.

The primary and secondary survey was designed to identify all of a patient's injuries and prioritize their management. However 15 to 22.3% of patient with missed injuries had clinically significant missed injuries. To reduce missed injury, special attention should be focused on patients with severe anatomical injury or obtunded. Victims of blunt trauma commonly had multiple system involvement. Some reports indicate that inexperience, breakdown of estalished protocol, clinical error, and restriction of imaging studies may be responsible for presence of missed injury. The best way of reducing clinical significant of missed injuries was repeated clinical assessment. Here we report a case of severe blunt hepatic injury patient and pericardial injury that was missed in primary and secondary survey. After damage control surgery of hepatic injury, she remained hemodynamically unstable. Further investigation found cardiac tamponade during intensive care. This was managed by pericardial window operation through previous abdominal incision and abdominal wound closure was performed.

This study was carried out to utilize the byproducts (flower, immature and mature berry, leaf and stem) of ginseng. Yield of byproducts were $32.7{\pm}9.8g$ in flower, $68.2{\pm}2.2g$ in immature berry, $48.5{\pm}4.3g$ in mature berry, $316.2{\pm}20.5g$ in leaf, and $296.6{\pm}15.4g$ in stem per $3.3m^2$ ($180{\times}90cm$, ginseng root $675.5{\pm}35.7g$/drybasis. The total saponin contents of ginseng byproducts and root are $52.36{\pm}1.24$, $68.71{\pm}1.98$, $168.89{\pm}0.57$, $68.26{\pm}1.32$, $7.85{\pm}0.61$ and $35.08{\pm}0.96$ mg/g, respectively. The main ginsenoside of all byproducts was Re and the highest content was $132.23{\pm}1.56$ mg/g in mature berry. But flower and berry was not detected Rf and Rh1, respectively. Total polyphenolic compound content on mature berry was the highest, $2.242{\pm}0.140%$, after, immature berry > leaf > flower > root > stem order. The DPPH radical scavenging activity on mature berry was the highest, $0.115{\pm}0.004$ mg/mL($IC_{50}$), and the others were the same order of polyphenolic compound and ginsenoside content on byproducts.

The survey team has conducted the on-the-site inspection of 53 bridges to which LNG gas pipelines are attached, to ascertain their level of safety, durability and any defect by adapting a method of computer data input process and precision analysis. In this way, we could estimate an effective corrective action on the defective gas pipelines found through this survey. Our survey team has analyzed carefully these 2 defective lines selectively out of 10 lines, which are considered to be most seriously weak. According to our elaborate analysis these two pipelines go over 70% of the set standard stress based on our Safety Manual Scale. We have taken corrective actions on these lines by repairing/replacing/obsolete damaged lines to ensure the distress of the bridges involved with the pipelines and could secure safety.

This paper deals with the noise evaluation technique of a reciprocating air-compressor and its noise reduction. The reciprocating air-compressors are widely used in the small, medium sized industrial firms, and lots of their employees are affected and irritated by their noise in the workplace. Thus, noise control actions should be taken appropriately by considering the hearing loss due to the occupational noise exposure. Lead-wrapping techniques are employed to identify the contribution of principal noise sources which are generally known as motor, belts, suction/discharge valves, moving pistons, and flow-induced noise caused by edges or discontinuities along the flow path e.g. expansions, contractions, junctions and bends etc .. As a result, main noise sources of the air-compressor can be categorized by the suction/discharge noise, valve noise, and compressed-air tank noise. Based on the investigations, mufflers are designed to reduce both the suction/discharge noise and the compressed-air tank noise. Instead of the conventional valve plate, polyethylene resin is used as a new one for the reduction of valve impact noise. In addition, attempts are made to reduce the valve noise propagation to the cylinder head and the compressor tank by using the insulation casings. As a result of the countermeasure plans, it can be achieved that the noise reduction of the air-compress is up to 10dB.

A herd of Berkshire pigs was established in 2003 and subjected to selection without introduction of any genetic resources until 2007. The complete pedigree, including 410 boars and 916 sows, as well as the records from 5,845 pigs and 822 litters were used to investigate the results obtained from the selections. The index of selection for breeding values included days to 90 kg (D90kg), backfat thickness (BF) and number of piglets born alive (NBA). The average inbreeding coefficients of pigs were found to be 0.023, 0.008, 0.013, 0.025, 0.026, and 0.005 from 2003 to 2007, respectively. The genetic gains per year were 12.1 g, -0.04 mm, -3.13 days, and 0.181 head for average daily gain (ADG), BF, D90kg, and NBA, respectively. Breeding values of ADG, BF and D90kg were not significantly correlated with inbreeding coefficients of individuals, except for NBA (-0.21). The response per additional 1% of inbreeding was 0.0278 head reduction in NBA. The annual increase of inbreeding was 0.23% and the annual decrease in NBA due to inbreeding was 0.0064 head. This magnitude could be disregarded when compared with the annual gain in NBA (0.181 head). These results suggest that inbreeding and inbreeding depression on ordinary farms can be controlled with a proper breeding scheme and that breeding programs are economical and safe relative to the risks associated with importation of pigs.

The market of webtoon is expanding and the main users' acceptance environment of webtoon is changing from web to mobile. Among this phenomena, platform companies combined various digital technologies and a new user interface to the webtoon. The major directions of change in webtoon are applying multimedia effects and actualize the optimized form for the mobile environment represented by a smartphone. This study defined these types of webtoon as 'Webtoon 2.0' and built a separate concept from 'Webtoon 1.0' which means the early form of webtoon. Through this, we propose a new standard in classifying various types of cartoons that are sporadically serviced to users. Also, through experiments with users, we checked the current status of webtoon 2.0 and webtoon 1.0 by quantitatively measuring and analyzing the degree of user satisfaction with the current webtoon. Through this, this study suggest technical and aesthetic development application of Korean webtoon which is available to platform operators, writers and users.

This paper reports the strandings of sea turtles on Korean shores monitored for the first time in 2008. A total of 19 sea turtles, consisting of 12 greens and 7 loggerheads, were recorded as stranded from the east coast to the south including Jeju Island. Reported strandings reached a peak in July and dominant area was Jeju Island. The curved carapace length of loggerhead sea turtles ranged 65-84.2cm and that of green sea turtles ranged 39.2-90cm, indicating most of them were immature to sub-adult. Out of 19 turtles, 11 were found dead with unknown reasons. Possible causes of death may include drawning by fishing gear, swallowing of marine debris, boat collision, and diseases. An immature green sea turtle tagged with a satellite transmitter spent winter near Jeju Island where it was released, suggesting that the Island provide immature greens a feeding ground. Considering thousands of sea turtles crawl on Japanese shores for nesting every year, the number of sea turtles reported in Korean waters was relatively small. Therefore, it is suggested that an appropriate monitoring system be necessary to protect and conserve endangered sea turtle species in Korean waters.

An arteriovenous fistula (AVF) from the renal artery following a penetrating abdominal trauma is not common. We report the case of a 19-year-old male who presented with a knife stab wound in the right upper quadrant. Due to unstable vital signs and to the protrusion of the mesentery through the stab wound, providing definite evidence of peritoneal violation, an emergent exploratory laparotomy was carried out. There were injuries at the proximal transverse mesocolon and the second portion of the duodenum, with bile leakage. There was also a mild amount of retroperitoneal hematoma near the right kidney, without signs of expansion or pulsation. The mesocolon and the duodenum were repaired. After the operation, abdominal computerized tomography (CT) was performed, which revealed contrast from the right renal artery shunting directly into the vena cava. Transcatheter arterial embolization with a coil and vascular plug was performed, and the fistula was repaired. The patient recovered completely and was discharged without complication. For further and thorough evaluation of an abdominal trauma, especially one involving the retroperitoneum, a CT scan is recommended, when possible, either prior to surgery or after surgery when the patient is stabile. Furthermore, a lateral retroperitoneal hematoma and an AVF after a penetrating trauma may not always require exploration. Sometimes, it may be safely treated non-operatively or with embolization.

Leukemia is a malignancy caused by precursor cells of white blood cell. It is a malignant tumor of hematopoietic organs, characterized by the disorder of hematopoietic function due to the proliferation of immature bone marrow cells or lymphatic cells and by abnormal tissue infiltration of leukemic cells. The major signs of leukemia are caused by the failure of bone marrow function. As the number of red blood cells decreases, anemia is to appear. The number of white blood cells in leukemia is usually increased but immature white blood cells circulating the body has little defense ability, thus become susceptible to infection. 27 year-old female patient who was treated chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation after diagnosed as chronic myelogenous leukemia(CML) was diagnosed as osteomyelitis in mandible after clinical and dental radiographic film examination. Because of the result of examination, the involved tooth of the patient was extracted accompanied by sequestrectomy and saucerization under general anesthesia. After the patient had long term medication of antibiotics, the lesion was healed. Therefore. author, et al. report this case with literature review.
