도로시설물 적용 앵커볼트 결함 검출을 위한 비파괴(Ultrasonic) 검사 기법 적용에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Application of Non-destructive (Ultrasonic) Inspection Technique to Detect Defects of Anchor Bolts for Road Facilities)

  • 국내의 앵커볼트 일반 비파괴 검사법은 육안검사와 타음검사를 적용하고 있으나, 육안검사는 기초에 포함된 부분이나 너트 및 베이스 플레이트가 설치된 부분에서 앵커볼트의 부식이나 피로균열 등을 확인하는 것이 어렵다. 타음검사는 주변 환경과 개인차에 의한 영향을 받기 때문에 객관적인 조사가 어려운 것이 현실이므로 이러한 결함을 정량적으로 추정할 수 있는 비파괴 검사 기술개발이 필요하다. 국내 도로시설물 앵커볼트의 점검은 육안조사를 수행하고 있으며, 교량받침, 낙교방지시설 등의 앵커볼트 중요도가 높으므로 기존 점검방법과 함께 비파괴검사 기술을 개발하여 앵커볼트의 예방정비를 통해 교량 수명연장에 기여할 필요가 있다. 본 기술 개발을 통해 현재 수행하고 있지 않은 앵커볼트의 비파괴검사를 수행함으로 도로시설물 앵커볼트의 선제적/능동적 유지관리가 가능한 기술로 연구개발 및 실용화가 시급하다. 본 논문에서는 비파괴 검사 기법 중 초음파탐상법(Ultrasonic test)을 적용하여 부식, 균열 등 앵커볼트의 결함 검출 가능성 및 실뢰도를 실험적으로 검증하였다. 기술 개발이 완성되면 검사 신뢰성 향상 원천기술 확보로 앵커볼트에 대한 선제적/능동적 유지관리의 실현이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

Failure Analysis and Countermeasures of SCM435 High-Tension Bolt of Three-Step Injection Mold

  • When injection mold is repeatedly used for mass production, fatigue phenomenon due to cyclic stress may occur. The surface and interior of structure might be damaged due to cyclic stress or strain. The objective of this study was to analyze failure of SCM435 high-tension bolts connecting upper and lower parts of a three-stage injection molding machine. These bolts have to undergo an accurate heat treatment to prevent the formation of chromium carbide and the action of dynamic stresses. Bolts were fractured by cyclic bending stress in the observation of ratchet marks and beach marks. Damaged specimen showed an acicular microstructure. Impurity was observed. Chromium carbide was observed near the crack origin. Both shape parameters of the Vickers hardness were similar. However, the scale parameter of the damaged specimen was about 20% smaller than that of the as-received specimen. Much degradation occurred in the damaged specimen. Bolts should undergo an accurate heat treatment to prevent the formation of chromium carbide. They must prevent the action of dynamic stresses. Bolts need accurate tightening and accuracy of heat treatment and screws need compression residual stress due to peening.

볼트수의 변화가 더블앵글 접합부의 회전강성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Variation of the Number of Bolts on the Rotational Stiffnesses of Double Angle Connections)

  • 저층 철골조의 시공에 있어서 더블앵글 접합부는 매우 효과적인 접합부의 한 형태로 취급된다. 더블앵글 접합부의 접합부 강성은 앵글의 두께, 볼트 게이지 거리, 볼트의 개수 등과 같은 여러 변수에 따라서 변화한다. 본 연구에서는 볼트수의 변화가 더블앵글 접합부의 모멘트-회전각 관계에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 세 개의 더블앵글 접합부 실험이 수행되었다. 각각의 실험결과에 근거하여 각 실험에 사용된 더블앵글의 회전강성은 회귀분석을 통하여 산정되었다. 회귀분석결과 더블앵글 접합부의 접합부 강성은 볼트의 개수가 증가함에 따라서 함께 증가한다는 결론을 얻었다.

볼트 결함 판별을 위한 고속 정밀 검사 장치 개발 (A High-speed Automatic Precision Inspection System for Bolts Defects)

  • 본 논문은 자동으로 볼트를 고속 정밀 검사할 수 있는 장치에 대한 시스템 설계 및 제품 개발에 관해 다룬다. 볼트를 연속적으로 고속 검사하기 위해 컨베이어를 이용하고 이를 동작시키기 위한 서보모터와 엔코더를 부착하여 정확한 이송량를 유지하게 된다. 엔코더 신호를 수신한 라인스캔 카메라의 동작에 따라 프레임 그래버로 볼트 영상을 전송하며 한 프레임을 구성한 후 영상 검사 알고리즘에 의해 파라메터를 측정하고 검사하게 된다. 제작된 결과물을 이용하여 실험을 통해 본 장치의 효용성을 입증하고자 한다.

차량용 에어컨 압축기의 선조질강 헤드 볼트 개발에 대한 연구 (A Study on Development of Pre-heat Treated Steel Head Bolt for Swashplate Type Compressor of Car Air-conditioner)

  • This paper is a study on head bolts that are used in A/C compressors to reduce production cost and solve leak problems on the head bolt seat area that causes massive intermittent malfunctioning during production. In this study, the pre-heat treated steel, which was used as a material in the head bolt, eliminated the heat treatment process after forging. The pre-heat treated steel head bolts, which have 10 % lower tensile strength than the conventional SCM 435 head bolts, were selected after considering the results of creeping rupture properties, axial force, and stress concentration per tensile strength variation. Then, the performance test and the durability test with the A/C compressor that was assembled with the pre-heat treated steel head bolts were performed and verified. Based on the results, the pre-heat treated steel head bolts developed in this study saved 7.3 % in production cost by eliminating the heat treatment process and the logistics process. Furthermore, the leak problem on the head bolt seat area in the A/C compressor was addressed significantly on the mass production assembly line.

Experimental research on vertical mechanical performance of embedded through-penetrating steel-concrete composite joint in high-temperature gas-cooled reactor pebble-bed module

  • The high-temperature gas-cooled reactor pebble-bed module project is the first commercial Generation-IV NPP(Nuclear Power Plant) in China. A new joint is used for the vertical support of RPV(Reactor Pressure Vessel). The steel corbel is integrally embedded into the reactor-cabin wall through eight asymmetrically arranged pre-stressed high-strength bolts, achieving the different path transmission of shear force and moment. The vertical monotonic loading test of two specimens is conducted. The results show that the failure mode of the joint is bolt fracture. There is no prominent yield stage in the whole loading process. The stress of bolts is linearly distributed along the height of corbel at initial loading. As the load increases, the height of neutral axis of bolts gradually decreases. The upper and lower edges of the wall opening contact the corbel plate to restrict the rotation of the corbel. During the loading, the pre-stress of some bolts decreases. The increase of the pre-stress strength ratio of bolts has no noticeable effect on the structure stiffness, but it reduces the ultimate bearing capacity of the joint. A simplified calculation model for the elastic stage of the joint is established, and the estimation results are in good agreement with the experimental results.

  • 일반적으로 각국의 강구조물 시공현장에서 사용되고 있는 고장력볼트의 인장강도는 1,000 MPa급이 주종을 이루고 있으나, 고강도강과 극후판의 개발 및 보급과 강교량 건설기술의 발전에 따른 교량 지간의 장대화로 인하여 강도가 큰 새로운 볼트 개발이 요구되어 왔다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 새롭게 개발된 F13T급 고장력볼트를 이용하여 마찰계수에 따른 마찰연결부 피로실험을 수행하여 피로강도를 평가하였다. 결과적으로 피로실험결과 마찰연결부의 피로강도 B등급을 만족하였다. 또한, 마찰연결부의 피로파단에 대해서 분석하였다.

펄라이트 조직을 갖는 초고강도 볼트의 수소취성 저항성 (Resistance to Hydrogen Embrittlement of Ultra-high Strength Pearlitic Bolt)

  • Recently, ultra-high strength bolts have been developed for weight lightening of a vehicle and fuel efficiency. However, some amount of diffusible H is absorbed into the bolt during its manufacturing process so that H embrittlement (HE) often occurs particularly in high strength bolts with a tempered martensitic microstructure. This brings attention to ultra-high strength pearlitic bolts with a high resistance to HE. Therefore, in this study the HE resistance of the 1.6 GPa grade pearlitic bolt was evaluated through tightening tests and slow strain rate tests (SSRTs), and fracture surfaces of failed bolts were comparatively observed. A critical H content for the tightening test turned out to be ~0.23-0.35 mass ppm. The bolt with a diffusible H content of ~0.35 mass ppm was fractured during the tightening test, showing a quasi-cleavage fracture surface, indicating the occurrence of HE. In addition, the bolt underwent premature elastic failure during the SSRT. This implies that the HE resistance of high strength bolts can be evaluated by both tightening test and SSRT.

  • It is important to control the axial forces of high tension bolts such as the automobile, construction machine, aircraft, marine engine bolts. However, the direct method to measure the axial forces of bolts practically have not been found out. The ultrasonic techniques is based on the principles that the bolt tensile elongation and ultrasonic velocity changes are proportional to the axial force below the yield point of the materials. From the result of the experiment, the coefficient of acoustoelasticity k could be measured as - 11.18*10$_{-5}$m $m^{2}$k $g_{f}$./.

  • Ti-6Al-4V alloy has been widely used for aerospace and power generation applications because of low density and attractive mechanical and corrosion resistant properties. However, the titanium alloy bolt is generally manufactured by cutting and rolling because of their poor workability. In order to achieve the mass production of titanium alloy bolts, it needs to be solved some manufacturing problems such as the sticking between workpiece and dies, the formation of the forming defects during the forging and so on. In this study, the manufacturing technology of titanium alloy bolts using warm forging process was introduced. The aim of present work is to develop a warm forging technology for high strength Ti-6Al-4V bolts.
