  • Purpose: To evaluate physical characteristics, lifestyle related to bone-health, and bone mineral density (BMD) in mothers and their daughters and to determine the predictors of BMD. Method: BMDs at the forearm, lumbar spine, and femur were measured in 101 healthy, mother-daughter pairs by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. Mother-daughter differences between general characteristics, means for BMDs were assessed by ${\chi}^2$-test, t-tests. Multiple regression analyses were used to identify predictors of BMD in each group. Results: Mothers had significantly higher BMD than their daughters at forearm, lumbar spine, and femur. The predictors of mothers' BMDs were body weight, body mass index (BMI) and percentage body fat, explaining 5.1~31.6% of the variation in BMDs. BMI, percentage body fat and their mother's BMD of the corresponding site bone were predictors in daughters, explaining 17.5~31.6% of the variations in BMDs. Conclusion: These results indicate the importance of weight on bone that the BMDs seems to be related to fat free mass both in young-adult daughters and in middle aged mothers. These also suggest the importance ofintervention for the development of BMD in daughter of mother with low BMD.

  • The purposes of this study were to find out any significants among somatotypes and face types and importance of image making to successful students' life. The respondents were composed of 181 males and 160 females. It consists of total 29 items including the facial features, personality expression methods, characteristics of body shapes, image making, colors and neckline and their responses were measured with Likert 5-point scale. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation analysis including $Χ^2$-test and frequency analysis were used. As the results, 47% of male students and 28% of female students responded they were satisfied with their own facial types. 32% of male students and all female students were not satisfied with their own body shapes and fashion depends on accessories like hat, sunglasses, boots and necklace rather than dress itself. All male and female students were not satisfied with their body shapes and recognized the importance of image. They answered that they change image if someone advices their image and it suggests that information and intellectual needs of image making are required and approach to efficient methods of image making is needed.

  • For raising to the significance of whole Dody form diagnosis, I studied comparatively oriental medicine's whole body form diagnosis, biological evolution and physiognomy. In the oriental medicine, the whole body form diagnosis was recognized a means to deal with 'an individual physiology-pathology' and applied practically 'the typing of whole body form'. The physiognomy was applied to whole body form for the conversion of conception in social science and attached great importance to 'the face of human'. The biological evolution was applied to whole body form for the means by grasping the human individual characteristic, so much as magnified to the size of unconscious body-language(Synergologie, Tells exe.).

  • As a means of achieving fashion technology and scientification, this research on the standardization proposals of body type research methods has the following conclusions: 1. As human body displays different characteristics according to races, regions, sexes, and ages, clothing products (unlike other industrial goods) cannot be subject to global standardization. As a result, clothing size standardization can be desirably regionalized, for example, as Asian, European countries, etc. 2. In order to share human-body-concerned information among nations, programs for raw data exchange need to be urgently developed. 3. Top priority is databasing all raw data at home and abroad. 4. So that the findings of body type research can be practically applied to the concerned industry, industry-academy cooperation and information exchange are a must. While researchers have to heighten the precision of their studies, industrial partners ought to focus on the invaluable importance of academic research. 5. The scientific body type analysis, the basis of fashion technology, as well as the development of its application technology and software are ultimately and urgently required.

  • To get well-fitted ready-made clothings with beautiful silhouettes, it's better to classify body forms into several forms and to assign sizing within each form than to grade just based on body size regardless of body styles. This study illucidated the importance of drop value in the results of surveying the current values of sizing and grading. Therefore, it's meaningful to get the classification of body form with appropriate distribution of drop values of the body, and the distribution of drop value and the frequency of each form is very helpful to name the combined sizing or coverage of ready-made clothes. This study aimed at classifying body forms with various drop values using multivariate analysis for sizing and grading. Factor analysis and cluster analysis were done using measured values from 346 unmarried women. The results are as follows: 1. The factor which explains body forms was obtained by factor analysis, and the representative major 18 items which have important roles in classifying body forms were selected among the measured values with high factor loading and communality. 2. The body forms were classified into 8 groups based on the charateristics, frequencies and distributions of them obtained from cluster analysis. 3. Each classified body form showed conspicuous difference in drop value and the difference of body form mainly resulted from the difference between waist and hip rather than the difference between bust circumference and waist in Korean unmarried women.

  • In this study, I analyzed the measurement data of the early 20s male who are emphasizing the importance of good clothes in the fashion of body-contact clothes. Through this, I tried to provide basic data necessary for making clothing for early 20s male. Using data from Size Korea's 7th Human Body Survey, 588 people aged 20-25 years were analyzed and classified into four types. Type 1 have a thick and short body, narrow ankle and calf, thin legs. And the hip is not sagged, and height is a little short. So I named it 'short & thick body with bird legs'. Type 2 have a broad shoulder, slim and long body, and no sagging shoulders. So I named it 'slim inverted triangular figure'. Type 3 have a small height, thin and short body, and a thick ankle and calf. So I named it 'short & thin body with thick legs'. Type 4 have a tall height, narrow shoulder, and sagging hip and shoulders. So I named it 'Long triangle'. In order to improve fit of body-contact clothes reflecting the trend of men's wear in recent years, it is necessary to develop clothing prototypes by body type. 20s have the most ideal body shape after completion of growth, but differences in the length, thickness, and thickness of the trunk. This is reflected in the apparel pattern system, and it can be expected to increase consumers' satisfaction if they are used to make excellent ready-to-wear patterns.

  • The toxics regulatory body provides a benefit/cost ratio as a justification criterion while implementing regulations that induce the industry to reduce emissions voluntarily. Furthermore, since, the body wants to reflect not only the efficiency standard but also the policy standard in the evaluation of feasibility, it calculates the ratio by adjusting the importance weights. The problem is that respondents answer ambiguously. It should be removed for the reasonable evaluation. This study introduced a fuzzy-AHP methodology for this, and applied it to the voluntary emission reduction plan program in Korea.

  • Traditional Korean Medicine and Taoism think of the importance of a life nurturing for one's health and longevity. However, for a life nurturing, Traditional Korean Medicine aims at a person living up to one's natural life span. Taoism lays importance on ascending up to the sky to be a Taoist hermit with supernatural powers. Therefore, they both differ in the pursuit of their goals and their methods in doing respectively. In this study we have shown similarities and differences in the meaning and ways to practice su-seung-hwa-gang (body water rising and heat falling) which Traditional Korean Medicine and Taoism regard highly as a means of the practice of a life nurturing. Su-seung-hwa-gang is a concept that both Traditional Korean Medicine and Taoism set a high value on and at the same time it is a concrete method of a life nurturing demonstrating the possibility of 'non-disease treatment' through the active efforts of Traditional Korean Medicine.
