Transmitting/Receiving of Standard Health Data Using Bluetooth HDP on the Android Platform (안드로이드에서 블루투스 HDP를 이용한 표준건강정보의 송수신)

  • These days, with increasing interest about the health care, research about standard for transmitting/receiving data of health device has been actively conducted. Standardization and testing / certification is underway through the IEEE 11073 PHD, Health Level Seven and the Continua Health Alliance, it'll continue to be more research and experiments in the future. In this paper, we introduce the IEEE 11073 PHD standards for exchange of remote health information and the Bluetooth Health Device Profile(HDP) for health device profile of the Bluetooth technology, also we conducted experiments about exchange health information between health device and smart device which are adapted the IEEE 11073 PHD and Bluetooth HDP. Transmitting/receiving of the IEEE 11073 PHD standard protocol using the Bluetooth HDP profile between health device and smart device can be known by this experiment, and it expect to implement variety of remote medical services through health device supporting these standards in future.

Design and Implementation of a H.264 Video player based on DirectShow via Bluetooth (블루투스를 이용한 DirectShow기반의 H.264 동영상 플레이어의 설계 및 구현)

  • Bluetooth is a popular wireless data transmission method with low power consumption, but it has low data transmission rate. Thus, although many video stream players of a local or network file exist, there have been few players of video stream transmitted via Bluetooth. MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec is one of video codecs available with best compression rates for a certain quality, so a H.264 encoder seems to be adequate for video stream to be transmitted via Bluetooth. In this paper, we present a DirectShow filter based player of video stream encoded by H.264 codec, which is transmitted via Bluetooth. Details on the design and implementation of this program are described. Experimental results are shown to demonstrate the validity of the implemented program using various video samples.

The hybrid method of Listen-Before-Talk and Adaptive Frequency Hopping for coexistence of Bluetooth and WLAN (블루투스 및 무선 LAN 시스템의 동시지원을 위해 Listen-Before-Talk 기법을 결합한 Adaptive Frequency Hopping 방식의 제안)

  • In bluetooth system, there are two kinds of interference. One is the frequency static interference, for example 802.11 direct sequence, the interferer uses fixed frequency band. Another is frequency dynamic interference, for example other piconets or 802.11 frequency hopping, the interferer uses dynamic frequency channel and cant be estimated. In this paper we introduce a novel solution of hybrid method of Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) and Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) to address the coexistence of bluetooth and Direct Sequence of wireless local area network (WLAN). Before any bluetooth packet transmission, in the turn around time of the current slot, both the sender and receiver sense the channel whether there is any transmission going on or not. If the channel is busy, packet transmission is withdrawn until another chance. This is the LBT in Bluetooth. Because of asymmetry sense ability of WLAN and bluetooth, AFH is introduced to combat the left front-edge packet collisions. In monitor period of AFH, LBT is performed to label the channels with static interference. Then, all the labeled noisy channels are not used in the followed bluetooth frequency hopping. In this way, both the frequency dynamic and frequency static interference are effectively mitigated. We evaluate the solution through packet collision analysis and a detail realistic simulation with IP traffic. It turns out that the hybrid method can combat both the frequency dynamic and frequency static interference. The packet collision analysis shows it almost doubles the maximal system aggregate throughput. The realistic simulation shows it has the least packet loss.

Comparison of Salinity of Soups on the Use of Bluetooth Salinity Meter at Childcare Centers in Anyang Area (안양지역 어린이집에서의 블루투스 염도계 사용에 따른 국의 염도 비교)

  • We analyzed whether the use of the Bluetooth salinity meter could affect the proper level of salinity in childcare centers. This study was conducted on childcare centers that wish to participate in the sodium reduction project (Bluetooth salinity meter using group, BG) and those that did not participate (Bluetooth salinity meter not using group, NG) among childcare centers registered with Center for Children's Foodservice Management in Anyang from January to December 2019. As a result of comparing the salinity and sodium contents of the soup according to whether or not a Bluetooth salinity meter was used, the salinity and sodium contents of BG was significantly lower than that of NG (p < 0.0001). Salinity and sodium contents in soups tended to decrease as the number of use of the Bluetooth salinity meter increased (p = 0.020). In conclusion, Bluetooth salinity meter can be used as a means to induce voluntary salinity control by cookers regarding sodium reduction education at childcare centers.

  • Bluetooth is the key technology in the wireless connection of many Internet of Things (IoT) devices, especially focused on smartphones today. In addition, Bluetooth communication between the IoT device and the user is mainly performed via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), but as the Bluetooth technology gradually develops, the security vulnerability of the existing BLE is more prominent. Research on Bluetooth accessibility has been conducted steadily so far, but there is lack of research for data protection in Bluetooth communication. Therefore, in this paper, when sending and receiving data in BLE communication between IoT and users, we propose effective methods for communicating with each other through the Format Preserving Encryption Algorithm (FEA), not the plain text, and measures performance of FEA which is optimized in Arduino and PC.

Analysis of Received Signal Strength Index from Bluetooth Beacons to Develop Proximity Warning Systems for Underground Mines (지하광산용 근접경고시스템 개발을 위한 블루투스 비콘 신호의 수신 강도 분석)

  • In this study, we analyzed the variations in the received signal strength index (RSSI) measured from Bluetooth beacons based on the strength and propagation direction of Bluetooth low energy (BLE) signal. Using a smartphone, we performed field experiments to investigate RSSI variations in the BLE signal transmitted by non-directional and directional beacons in an amethyst mine. In case of non-directional beacons, as the distance between the Bluetooth beacon and smartphone decreased, the RSSI increases, whereas as the BLE signal strength increased, the RSSI average gradually increased. The mean value of RSSI measured from the directional beacons was changed without relation to the facing angle between the Bluetooth beacon and smartphone. The results of this study can be used as basic data for developing a Bluetooth beacon-based proximity warning system for underground mines.

  • 본 논문에서는 Bluetooth applications를 위한 Bipolar Transistor low noise amplifier (LNA)를 설계하였다. 설계된 LNA는 2.4GHz에서 14.31[dB]의 Gain과 1.59[dB]의 NF를 보였다. 또한 S11은 -13.5[dB], S22는 -21.4[dB]의 양호한 값은 보였다.

  • This paper describes the applicability of Bluetooth and ZigBee networks for real-time control in wireless networked control system and suggests an effective usage of them. The Bluetooth SCO link, SPP and HID profiles and the ZigBee non-beacon enabled network are analyzed and the latency of them are measured. A number of wireless networked control system experiments are performed via DC motor control system and the various profiles of Bluetooth and ZigBee in real-time wireless networked control system are compared.

  • Depending on the development of technology, android-based smartphones has brought about various changes in our lives. In this paper, based on smartphones, it was implemented that the biometric information of human pulse wave and oxygen saturation by measuring device can be monitor the status of the patient on bluetooth-based u-health care system. Through the implementation of this paper, it has confirmed that it's can be monitoring smartphone adding a bluetooth module on the medical equipment of PC based monitor system.

  • 텔레매틱스(telematics)는 무선 네트워크를 통해 운전자에게 운전은 물론 생활에 필요한 다양한 정보를 실시간으로 제공하는 서비스이다. 이러한 텔레매틱스 시스템은 운영시스템에 따라 내부시스템, 무선통신 네트워크, 텔레매틱스 센터부분으로 크게 나눠볼 수 있다. 이중에서 내부시스템 및 무선통신 네트워크에 Bluetooh로 다양한 응용이 가능하다. Bluetooth는 다양한 주변기기들의 사용으로 인한 차내 배선의 복잡성을 해소하고 주변 기기들에 대한 중앙 집중 인터페이스를 가능하게 할 수 있다. 또한 Bluetooth는 GPS 항법 시스템 개발자가 최상의 GPS 시스템을 구현하는 데 있어 가장 비용 효과적이고 상용화 시간을 최소화하며 상호 운용성이 가장 뛰어난 솔루션을 제공한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 텔레매틱스 시스템에서 내부시스템 및 무선통신 네트워크에 적용될 수 있는 Bluetooth 네트워크를 구성하고 차량의 진동에 의한 전파 오류, 전파 반사, 전파간의 간섭에도 안정적으로 동작하기 위한 방법을 제시한다.
