  • The bacterial substance inhibited the methylene blue-uptaking activity of red cells. On keeping at room temperature the methylene blue-uptaking activity of red cells sensitized with bacterial substance was more rapidly destroyed than that of normal cells. The methylene blue-uptaking activity of red cells was more inhibited by the supernatant fraction than sediment of bacterial substance.

The Blue and Red Luminescences from Ambient Air Aged Porous Silicon

  • This paper reports on photoluminescence (PL), luminescence decay curves, and compositional analysis of porous silicon(PS) which is aged under air ambient by Fourier transform infrared vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR) and by Auger electron spectroscopy (AES). Porous silicos which has been aged under air ambient yields two PL band structures, i.e. blue/violet PL and red PL. The evolution of a blue/violet band is pronounced, especially for thin PS film which is prepared in dilute HF solution. The blue/violet PL band has been observed initially to increrase rapidly with aging, then saturated with further atmospheric aging. The ambient air aged PS exhibits a fast decay time of sub-nanosecond at room temperature and shows appreciably faster decay time than that at 20K. Atmospheric aging of this thin blue/violet luminescing PS yield non-stoichiometric oxide judging from the vibrational spectra of Si-O and AES analysis.

  • The optical properties of $ZnS_{y}Se_{1-x-y}:Te_x\;(x\;<\;0.08,\;y\∼0.11$) alloys grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) have been investigated by photoluminescence (PL) and PL-excitation (PLE) spectroscopy. Good optical properties and high crystal quality were established with lattice match condition to GaAs substrate. At room temperature, emission in the visible spectrum region from blue to green was obtained by varying the Te content of the ZnSSe:Te alloy. The efficient blue and green emission were assigned to $Te_{1}$Tel and $Te_{n}$ (n$\geq$2) cluster bound excitons, respectively. Bright blue (462 nm) and green (535 nm) light emitting diodes (LEDs) have been developed using ZnSSe:Te system as an active layer.

The turn-on voltage of 2.1 V in current-voltage characteristics is very small compared to that of commercial InGaN-based LEDs (>3.4 V), indicating the formation of a good ohmic contact due to the optimized p-ZnSe/p-ZnTe multi-quantum well (MQW) superlattice electrode layers.

  • Optical characteristics of excitonic blue and green emission of Te-doped ZnSSe:Te epitaxial layers, grown by molecular beam epitaxy, were investigated by photoluminescence (PL) measurements. The Te-doped ternary specimen shows strong blue or green emission (at 300K) which is assigned to $Te_1$ or $Te_n$ $(n{\geq}2)$ cluster cluster bound exciton, respectively. Bright green and blue light emitting diodes (LEDs) have been developed using ZnSSe:Te system as an active layer. The green LEDs exhibit a fairly long device lifetime (>2000 h) when operated at 3 $A/cm^2$ under CW condition at room temperature.

  • In early Highlighting the client's personality especially, home design demands very careful consideration. It's not an easy task to understand the characteristics of each family member, to take into account their requirements, and strike proper harmony among them. For this Sampung Apartment Project, I decided to create a cozy homelike atmosphere by using overall modern and antique furniture, props, and lighting. I tried a different sense of space by choosing wood as the main material, installing furniture that looked antique, and applying painting with touch instead of pictures or wallpaper By the use of the light bulb color overall, lighting was yellow and added more comfort. Local lighting was used in certain places to add more fun along with the props. After choosing white as the main color, point colors were determined according to the client's inclination toward green and blue. The color choice also matched the client's paintings that were in soft green and blue. Each room was planned and color coordinated according to their own characteristics. The children's rooms were planned with such point colors as pink, green, and blue. The master bedroom and the family room were produced around gold and grey color, respectively.

Room-temperature synthesis of cobalt nanoparticles and their use as catalysts for Methylene Blue and Rhodamine-B dye degradation

  • Air stable nanoparticles were prepared from cobalt sulphate using tetra butyl ammonium bromide as surfactant and sodium borohydride as reductant at room temperature. The cobalt nanocolloids in aqueous medium were found to be efficient catalysts for the degradation of toxic organic dyes. Our present study involves degradation of Methylene Blue and Rhodamine-B using cobalt nanoparticles and easy recovery of the catalyst from the system. The recovered nanoparticles could be recycled several times without loss of catalytic activity. Palladium nanoparticles prepared from palladium chloride and the same surfactant were found to degrade the organic dyes effectively but lose their catalytic activity after recovery. The cause of dye colour discharge by nanocolloids has been assigned based on our experimental findings.

  • We have investigated the optical properties of Te-doped ZnSSe:Te epitaxial layers grown on (100) GaAs substrates by molecular beam epitaxy. The Te-doped ternary specimen shows strong blue or green emission (at 300k) which is assigned to Te$_{1}$ or Te$_{n}$( n$\geq$2) cluster bound exciton. Bright green and blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have been developed using ZnSSe:Te system as an active layer. The green LEDs exhibit a fairly long device lifetime (>2000 h) when operated at 3 A/cm$^{2}$ under CW condition at room temperature. It is confirmed that the Te-doping induced "crystal-hardening effect" plays a significant role in both efficient and strong suppression of the optical device degradation.gradation.

대기중에서 aged된 다공성 실리콘의 2가지 발광 band에 관한 연구 (On the study of two luminescence band structfue from ambient air aged porous silicon)

  • 급속 열산화 없이 다공성 실리콘으로부터 적색 및 청색 발광을 관찰할 수 있었다. 묽은 HF 농도에서, 특히 짧은 양극 산화 북식으로제조한 aged 된 다공성 실리콘은 청색band 의 증가를 나타내었다. 상온에서 측정된 발광 decay 시간은 약 100 ps를 나타내었고 20K에서 측정된 값에 비하여 상당히 빠른 값을 지니고 있었다. 청색 광발광 peak 최대값은 액체질소온도에서 청색전이를 나타내지 않았다. 그러나 적색 광발광 band는 77K 에서 적색으로 전이를 하였고 황색을 나타내었다. 적색 발광의 origin은 Si 결정과 연관이 있는 것으로 사료되어지는 한편 청색 발광은 Si결정과 무관한 것으로 생각되어 진다.

Facile and Room Temperature Preparation and Characterization of PbS Nanoparticles in Aqueous [EMIM][EtSO4] Ionic Liquid Using Ultrasonic Irradiation

  • At room-temperature, a facile, seedless, and environmentally benign green route for the synthesis of star like PbS nanoclusters at 7 min in aqueous solution of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethyl sulfate, [EMIM] [$EtSO_{4}$], room-temperature ionic liquid (RTIL), via ultrasonic irradiation is proposed. The X-ray diffraction studies display that the products are excellently crystallized in the form of cubic structure. An energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) investigation reveals the products are extremely pure. The absorption spectra of the product exhibit band gap energy of about 4.27 eV which shows an enormous blue shift of 3.86 eV that can be attributed to very small size of PbS nanoparticles produced and quantum confinement effect. A possible formation mechanism of the PbS nanoparticles using ultrasonic irradiation in aqueous solution of the RTIL is presented.
