The Dynamic Positioning System consists of 7 elements which are namely Power system, Human machine interface, DP Computer, Position Reference System(PRS), Sensors, Thruster system and DP Operator. Incidents like loss of position(LOP) on DP vessel usually occur due to errors in these 7 elements. The purpose of this study is to find out safety operation method of DP vessel through qualitative and quantitative analyze of DP LOP incidents which are submitted to IMCA every year. The 612 DP LOP incidents submitted from 2001 to 2010 were analyzed to find out the main cause of the incidents and its rate among other causes. Consequently, the highest rate of incidents involving DP elements are PRS errors. DP computer, Power system, Human error and thruster system came next. The PRS has been analyzed and a flowchart was drawn through expert brainstorming. Also, the conditional probability has been analyzed through Bayesian Networks based on this flowchart. Consequentially, the main causes of drive off incidents were DGPS, microwave radar and HPR. Also, this study identified the main causes of DGPS errors through Bayesian Networks. These causes are signal blocked, electric components failure, relative mode error, signal weak or fail.

This study investigates three buildings arranged alongside at the same level, namely, the Josadang, the Buljojeon, and the Palsangjeon. Their backside is blocked by an embankment with an environmental condition unsuitable for wooden buildings. The pillar behind the Josadang had termite damage for which termite damage and environmental investigations had been conducted for the past four years. The termite damage was monitored four times using the termite detection dogs, and the environmental factors were surveyed 27 times, except during the winter season. As a result, the locations of the columns with a high frequency of responses from the termite detection dogs were found and damage was confirmed. According to the surface moisture content investigations, the surface moisture content was highest in the Josadang and lowest in the Buljojeon. After a statistical analysis, the mean, the median, and the mode values were compared. The difference between the mean and the median was found to be less, however, the mode varied significantly. The mode values of the Josadang and the Palsangjeon were 14.5% and 10.8%, respectively, higher than the 6.1% mode value of the Buljojeon. It was concluded that the temperature and the water content affected the termite damage, which increases if the temperature and the water content remain constant owing to the environmental factors.
Community-based housing is widely recognized as one unique mode of affordable housing provision discussed in the agenda of urban housing policy in the midst of global economy. While economic development of rural communities are severely blocked by many factors, the local housing needs at grass roots level are addressed in the response to the growing number of the elderly and shortage of adequate housing to accommodate the group, and the availability of affordable housing is primarily seen as a viable option to the sustainability of rural community. This research study is to examine the case study of community-based housing development in rural areas, and to explore the drives and hurdles that influence the success of each development. The on-site visits and in-depth interviews with community leaders were employed to meet the research goals. The findings show that the driving factors making the successful housing development include the firm commitment to the importance of affordable and adequate housing, strong leadership of community leaders, public support, well-advised dispersion of public resources and strong bond between the public sector and local people. In spite of all the contributing factors, the unfamiliarity of collective ownership is the leading hurdle to proceed the development in a timely manner.
The effect of initial ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ in STS 304 Stainless Steel on fatigue resistance, and fatigue crack propagation behavior was studied with using C-T specimens. Higher ${\Delta}K_{th}$ was observed in the specimens with the content of 0% initial ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ than in the contents of 2% and 33% initial ${\alpha}^{\prime}$. The difference of da/dN at the same level of ${\Delta}K$ was distinctive in low and intermediate level of ${\Delta}K$ however became less different as the level of ${\Delta}K$ increased. It is because the formation of strain induced martensite occurred readily in lower ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ at the vicinity of the fatigue crack tip, which causes compressive residual stresses resulting in the enhancement of crack closure. In general fatigue cracks propagated transgranular mode and many segments of ridges were observed on the fracture surfaces. At the higher contents of initial ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ appeared the smaller size of ridge segments. Slips in austenite were blocked more frequently by the martensite colonies formed in austenite.
The whole-cell mode of the patch clamp technique was used to study $Ca^{2+}-activated\;Cl^-\;current$$(I_{Cl_{Ca}})$ in gastric antral myocytes. Extracellular application of caffeine evoked $Ca^{2+}-activated\;current$. In order to isolate the chloride current from background current, all known systems were blocked with specific blockers. The current-voltage relationship of caffeine-induced current showed outward rectification and it reversed at around $E_{Cl^-}$. The shift of reversal potential upon the alteration of external and internal chloride concentrations was well fitted with results which were calculated by the Nernst equation. Extracellular addition of N-phenylanthranilic acid and niflumic acid which are known anion channel blockers abolished the caffeine induced current. Intracellular application of a high concentration of EGTA also abolished this current. Application of c-AMP, c-GMP, heparin, or $AIF^-_4$ made no remarkable changes to this current. Sodium replacement with the impermeable cation N-methylglucamine or with $Cd^{2+}$ rarely affected this current. From the above results it is suggested that the caffeine induced current was a $Cl^-$ current and it was activated by intracellular $Ca^{2+}$.

DP 선박의 drive off를 발생시키는데 주요한 영향을 미치는 것은 DGPS, microwave radar 및 HPR 이었고 DGPS에 주요한 영향을 미치는 에러 요인은 signal blocked, electric components failure, relative mode error 및 signal weak or fail 이었다.
We have examined whether bile acids can affect the electrical and mechanical activities of circular smooth muscle of canine colon and ileum, using isometric tension measurement or patch clamp technique. It was found that a dilution of canine bile $(0.03{\sim}2%\;by\;volume)$ enhanced or inhibited the amplitude of spontaneous contractions. An individual component of bile, deoxycholic acid (DCA) enhanced the frequency and amplitude of the spontaneous contractile activity at $10^{-6}\;M,$ while DCA at $10^{-4}\;M$ inhibited the contraction. Similarly, the response to cholic acid was excitatory at $10^{-5}\;M$ and inhibitory at $3{\times}10^{-4}\;M.$ Taurocholic acid at $10^{-4}\;M$ enhanced the amplitude of muscle contraction. Electrically, canine bile at 1% reversibly depolarized the colonic myocytes under current clamp mode. Bile acids also elicited non-selective cation currents under voltage clamp studies, where $K^+$ currents were blocked and the $Cl^-$ gradient was adjusted so that $E_{Cl}^-$ was equal to -70 mV, a holding potential. The non-selective cation current might explain the depolarization caused by bile acids in intact muscles. Furthermore, the bile acid regulation of electrical and mechanical activities of intestinal smooth muscle may explain some of the pathophysiological conditions accompanying defects in bile reabsorption.

With recent ESS (Energy Storage System) fire accident, the fault protection performance is becoming more important. However, there has never been any experiments with the protection performance on the faults in the ESS system level. In this study, the effect of AC ground fault and IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar mode Transistor) short-circuit failure on MW class ESS was performed experimentally for the first time in the world. First of all, the effect of the AC single line ground fault on battery was analyzed. Moreover, the transient voltage was investigated as a function of the battery capacity and the power level. Finally, the breaking capability and insulation performance of ESS were examined under PCS short-circuit fault condition. Through the tests, it was found that ESS protection system safely blocked the faulty current regardless of the faults, whereas the electronic parts such as IGBT and MC (Magnetic Contactor) were broken by the fault current. Also, the electrical breakdown in ESS resulted from the transient voltage during the protection process.
This paper presents a new modified input buffered switch, which called a grouped input buffered (GIB) switch, to eliminate the influence of HOL blocking when using multiple input buffers in ATM switches. The GIB switch consists of grouped sub switches per a network stage. The switch gives extra paths and buffered switching elements between groups for transferring the blocked cells. As the result, the proposed model can reduce the effect by the HOL blocking and thereafter it enhances the performance of the switch. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme has good performance in comparison with previous works by using the parameters such as throughput, cell loss, delay and system power.
Human cardiac fibroblasts (HCFs) have various voltage-dependent $K^+$ channels (VDKCs) that can induce apoptosis. Hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$) modulates VDKCs and induces oxidative stress, which is the main contributor to cardiac injury and cardiac remodeling. We investigated whether $H_2O_2$ could modulate VDKCs in HCFs and induce cell injury through this process. In whole-cell mode patch-clamp recordings, application of $H_2O_2$ stimulated $Ca^{2+}-activated$$K^+$ ($K_{Ca}$) currents but not delayed rectifier $K^+$ or transient outward $K^+$ currents, all of which are VDKCs. $H_2O_2-stimulated$$K_{Ca}$ currents were blocked by iberiotoxin (IbTX, a large conductance $K_{Ca}$ blocker). The $H_2O_2-stimulating$ effect on large-conductance $K_{Ca}$ ($BK_{Ca}$) currents was also blocked by KT5823 (a protein kinase G inhibitor) and 1 H-[1, 2, 4] oxadiazolo-[4, 3-a] quinoxalin-1-one (ODQ, a soluble guanylate cyclase inhibitor). In addition, 8-bromo-cyclic guanosine 3', 5'-monophosphate (8-Br-cGMP) stimulated $BK_{Ca}$ currents. In contrast, KT5720 and H-89 (protein kinase A inhibitors) did not block the $H_2O_2-stimulating$ effect on $BK_{Ca}$ currents. Using RT-PCR and western blot analysis, three subtypes of $K_{Ca}$ channels were detected in HCFs: $BK_{Ca}$ channels, small-conductance $K_{Ca}$ ($SK_{Ca}$) channels, and intermediate-conductance $K_{Ca}$ ($IK_{Ca}$) channels. In the annexin V/propidium iodide assay, apoptotic changes in HCFs increased in response to $H_2O_2$, but IbTX decreased $H_2O_2$-induced apoptosis. These data suggest that among the VDKCs of HCFs, $H_2O_2$ only enhances $BK_{Ca}$ currents through the protein kinase G pathway but not the protein kinase A pathway, and is involved in cell injury through $BK_{Ca}$ channels.
