This paper presents a method of the constructing the digital logic switching functions and realizing the circuit design using partition techniques. First of all, we introduce the necessity, background and concepts of the partition design techniques for the digital logic systems. Next, we discuss the definitions that are used in this paper. For the purpose of the circuit design for the digital logic switching functions, we discuss the extraction of the partition functions. Also we describe the construction method of the building block, that is called the building block, based on each partition functions. And we apply the proposed method to the example, and we compare the results with the results of the earlier methods. In result, we describe the control functions, it means that we obtain the effective cost in the digital logic design for any other earlier methods.
It is very important to classify a lot of table-form documents into the same type of classes or to extract information filled in the template automatically. For these, it is necessary to accurately analyze table-form structure. This paper proposes an algorithm to extract corner points based on line edge segments and to classify the type of junction from table-form images. The algorithm preprocesses image through binarization, skew correction, deletion of isolated small area of black color because that they are probably generated by noises.. And then, it processes detections of edge block, line edges from a edge block, corner points. The extracted corner points are classified as 9 types of junction based on the combination of horizontal/vertical line edge segments in a block. The proposed method is applied to the several unconstraint document images such as tax form, transaction receipt, ordinary document containing tables, etc. The experimental results show that the performance of point detection is over 99%. Considering that almost corner points make a correspondence pair in the table, the information of type of corner and width of line may be useful to analyse the structure of table-form document.
One of the classic research problems in computer vision is that of stereo, i.e., the reconstruction of three dimensional shape from two or more images. This paper deals with the problem of extracting depth information of non-rigid dynamic 3D scenes from general 2D video sequences taken by monocular camera, such as movies, documentaries, and dramas. Depth of the blocks are extracted from the resultant block motions throughout following two steps: (i) calculation of global parameters concerned with camera translations and focal length using the locations of blocks and their motions, (ii) calculation of each block depth relative to average image depth using the global parameters and the location of the block and its motion, Both singular and non-singular cases are experimented with various video sequences. The resultant relative depths and ego-motion object shapes are virtually identical to human vision.

Lipreading has been suggested as one of the methods to improve the performance of speech recognition in noisy environment. However, existing methods are developed and implemented only in software. This paper suggests a hardware design for real-time lipreading. For real-time processing and feasible implementation, we decompose the lipreading system into three parts; image acquisition module, feature vector extraction module, and recognition module. Image acquisition module capture input image by using CMOS image sensor. The feature vector extraction module extracts feature vector from the input image by using parallel block matching algorithm. The parallel block matching algorithm is coded and simulated for FPGA circuit. Recognition module uses HMM based recognition algorithm. The recognition algorithm is coded and simulated by using DSP chip. The simulation results show that a real-time lipreading system can be implemented in hardware.
Accurate minutiae extraction from input fingerprint images is one of the critical modules in robust automatic fingerprint identification system. However, the performance of a minutiae extraction is heavily dependent on the quality of the input fingerprint images. If the preprocessing is performed according to the fingerprint image characteristics in the image enhancement step, the system performance will be more robust. In this paper, we propose a knowledge-based preprocessing method, which extracts S features (the mean and variance of gray values, block directional difference, orientation change level, and ridge-valley thickness ratio) from the fingerprint images and analyzes image quality with Ward's clustering algorithm, and enhances the images with respect to oily/neutral/dry characteristics. Experimental results using NIST DB 4 and Inha University DB show that clustering algorithm distinguishes the image Quality characteristics well. In addition, the performance of the proposed method is assessed using quality index and block directional difference. The results indicate that the proposed method improves both the quality index and block directional difference.

This case report presents the long-term radiographic outcomes of a novel approach for simultaneous lateral augmentation and implant surgery. A 60-year-old male patient who required tooth extraction of the maxillary central and lateral incisors due to trauma visited the clinic. After tooth extraction, severe horizontal and vertical deficiencies occurred owing to atrophy of the alveolar ridge, and a simultaneous guided bone regeneration (GBR) procedure was planned along with the installation of two implants. In the present case, a modification of the conventional 'sandwich technique' was used by placing the mixture of autogenous bone chips and xenografts at the outermost layer to maximize the osteogenic potential at the coronal part of augmentation while applying solely xenografts at the inner layer. To enhance volumetric stability, an autogenous block of periosteum harvested from the maxillary tuberosity was incorporated between the two layers. Cone-beam computed tomography was performed at baseline and 3 years after the surgery to compare radiographic outcomes. Dehiscence after fixture installation was successfully observed at the re-entry of the surgery site. Three years after the surgery, average horizontal bone gains of 6.11 mm and 4.12 mm were observed in the maxillary central and lateral incisor areas, respectively. Healthy peri-implant mucosa and well maintained marginal bone levels were observed 8 years after the surgery, meeting the criteria for implant success. The findings of this case suggest that a substantial amount of horizontal bone gain can be obtained with a layered approach using autogenous bone materials and xenografts, highlighting the advantages of incorporating autogenous blocks into the simultaneous GBR procedure.
This paper presents an algorithm, aims at practical applications, for the high speed processing and performance enhancement of lane detection base on vision processing system. As a preprocessing for high speed lane detection, the vanishing line estimation and the optimal extraction of region of interest for lane boundary (ROI-LB) can be processed to reduction of detection region in which high speed processing is enabled. Image feature information is extracted only in the ROI-LB. Road lane is extracted using a non-parametric model fitting and Hough transform within the ROI-LB. With simultaneous processing of noise reduction and edge enhancement using the Laplacian filter, the reliability of feature extraction can be increased for various road lane patterns. Since outliers of edge at each block can be removed with clustering of edge orientation for each block within the ROI-LB, the performance of lane detection can be greatly improved. The various real road experimental results are presented to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Despite the fact that the copyright has grown into a large-scale business, there are many constant problems especially in image copyright. In this study, we propose an automatic object extraction and classification system for the scanned educational book image by combining document image processing and intelligent information technology like deep learning. First, the proposed technology removes noise component and then performs a visual attention assessment-based region separation. Then we carry out grouping operation based on extracted block areas and categorize each block as a picture or a character area. Finally, the caption area is extracted by searching around the classified picture area. As a result of the performance evaluation, it can be seen an average accuracy of 83% in the extraction of the image and caption area. For only image region detection, up-to 97% of accuracy is verified.

When performing the inferior alveolar nerve block anesthesia, surgeon often faced a difficulty of the surgical operation due to the incomplete anesthesia. One of the reason is the variety of mandibular canal anatomy. Up to now, there are some reports of index cases about bifid mandibular canal among mandibular canal anatomic variation, and some classification is applied according to anatomical location and configuration. When surgical operation is performed involving mandible such as dantal implant treatment, extraction of an impacted third molar, sagittal split ramus osteotomy, etc, the position of mandibular canal should be considered. Bifid mandibular canal clinically causes troublesome cases of anesthesia when inferior alvelor nerve block, especially is performed extraction of an impacted third molar. Therefore, It is important for clinicians to recognize the presence of bifid canals on radiographys. Nowadays, the position of mandibular canal can be measured precisely by using Dental CT. It is not found by panorama image but is found by Dental CT sometimes. Among the patients, which take panorama and Dental CT simultaneously, for tooth extraction of lower impacted third molar in our department, we report the case that did not identifying in panorama but identifying it in Dental CT.
For automatic web scraping, unnecessary components such as menus and advertisements need to be removed from web pages and main contents should be extracted automatically. A content block tends to be located in the middle of a web page. In particular, Korean web documents rarely include metadata and have a complex design; a suitable method of content extraction is therefore needed. Existing content extraction algorithms use the textual and structural features of content blocks because processing visual features requires heavy computation for rendering and image processing. In this paper, we propose a new content extraction method using the tag positions in HTML as a quasi-visual feature. In addition, we develop a tag rank position, a type of tag position not affected by text length, and show that gradient boosting with the tag rank position is a very accurate content extraction method. The result of this paper shows that the content extraction method can be used to collect high-quality text data automatically from various web pages.
