풍력터빈 성능시험을 위한 저속풍동 개념연구 (Conceptual Study of a Low-Speed Wind Tunnel for Performance Test of Wind Turbine)

  • Conceptual study of an open-circuit type low-speed wind tunnel for performance test of wind turbine blade and airfoil is conducted. The tunnel is constituted of a settling chamber, a contraction, closed test section, a diffuser, two corners, a cross leg and a fan and motor. For the performance test, the closed test section width of 1.8 m, height of 1.8 m and length of 5.25 m is selected. The contraction ratio is 9 to 1 and maximum speed in the test section is 67 m/sec. Input power in the tunnel is about 238 kW and its energy ratio is 3.6. The wind tunnel designed in present study will be an effective tool in research and development of wind turbine and airfoil.

압전팬의 제작과 평가 (Fabrication and evaluation of a piezoelectric fan)

  • Piezoelectric ceramics were made by a doctor blade methode and piezoelectric fans were fabricated by sandwiched a slim and long metal between two layers of ceramics. A maximum displacement of piezoelectric fan occurs in the resonance frequency of a long metal and the resonance frequency of them is in inverse proportion to the square of a length of metal. The piezoelectric fan made from a wide and thin piezoelectric ceramics($13{\times}0.2{\times}30mm^3$) showed a maximum displacement in all samples, and the maximum displacement was about 20mm in a commercial power (200V, 60Hz of sine wave).

자오면 고정 형상에서 사류펌프 임펠러 및 디퓨져 날개형상 설계 (Blade Shape Design of Mixed-flow Pump Impellers and Diffusers in a Fixed Meridional Geometry)

  • In this paper, the flow characteristics of the mixed-flow pump impellers and diffusers were numerically predicted by commercial CFD software and DOE(design of experiments). We also discussed how to improve the performance of the mixed-flow pump by designing the impeller and diffuser in the mixed-flow pump. Geometric design variables were defined by the vane plane development which indicates the blade-angle distributions and length of the impeller and the diffusers. Firstly, the design optimization of the defined impeller geometric variables has been done. After that, the flow characteristics were analyzed in the point of incidence angle at the diffuser leading edge for the optimized impeller. Then design of the defined diffuser shape variables has been performed. The reason for the performance improvement was discussed by examining the flow characteristics through the diffuser.

디지털 풍동을 활용한 풍력 발전기 날개 단면 형상 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development for the Airfoil of Wind Turbine Blade using Digital Wind Tunnel)

  • Newly updated wing shape to apply small vertical wind turbine is tested with digital wind tunnel in this study. Digital wind tunnel is designed to reduce length of wind tunnel and also to maximize its area of test section. Same DC fans of ninety six are installed in the end side of its rectangular duct and air can be blown out to the other side to have uniform flow with same electricity power. New wing is concluded using experimental plan and analysis with 4-parameters and 3-levels, and tested with digital wind tunnel. It shows better performance in lift to drag ratio, and can applied to the wind turbine for the higher torque and lower thrust.

방사선 돌연변이 육종기술을 통한 고 아미노산 함유 김(Pyropia yezoensis) 돌연변이 개발 (Development of Pyropia yezoensis Mutant with Improved Amino Acid Content Using Gamma Rays)

  • Gamma irradiation is one of the simple methods used to induce mutagenesis. Therefore, it is widely used for the development of breeding lineages of plants and algae. In this study, it was developed a new variety of Pyropia yezoensis using gamma irradiation. It was applied a dose of 1 kGy and named the developed mutant Py1k. The blade with width of the mutant was narrower and the blade length was longer than those of the wild type. To further investigate the mutant, it was analyzed the nutrient composition and antioxidant activity. In comparison to those in the wild type, it was found a higher amino acid composition and marginally increased antioxidant activity in Py1k. Based on these results, it was suggests that our protocol can be utilized to develop Pyropia species with improved nutritional quality through gamma irradiation.

고로쇠나무 11개 자연집단의 잎의 형질 변이 분석 (Analysis of Leaf Morphological Variation of 11 Natural Populations of Acer pictum subsp. mono (Maxim.) Ohashi)

  • 고로쇠나무 11개 자연집단의 잎의 14가지 형태적 특성에 대한 변이분석을 실시하였다. Nested 분산분석 결과 14가지 양적특성들 모두에서 집단간 및 집단 내 개체 간에 유의적인 차이를 보였으며, 모든 형질들에서 총 분산 가운데 집단 내 개체 간 차지하는 비율이 집단간 차지하는 비율보다 큰 것으로 나타났다. 집단간 분화정도를 알아보고 형질간 상호비교를 위하여 표준화시킨 $D_{ij}$값은 엽신장/엽병장(0.90), 상열편폭(0.85) 및 엽신장과 중열편폭(0.83) 특성들이 다른 형질들에 비해 이탈정도가 큰 형질들로 나타났다. 또한 14가지 형태적 특성에 대한 전체평균 $D_{ij}$값은 광양(1.36)과 청양(1.30) 집단이 집단분화가 가장 큰 값을 보인반면 울주(0.30)와 정선(0.44) 집단이 가장 작은 값을 보여 조사된 집단들 중 울주와 정선집단이 고로쇠나무 잎의 형태적 특성을 대표할 수 있는 평균집단에 가까운 것으로 나타났다.

유동장 해석을 통한 승용차 원심 회전차의 형상 설계 (Design of Centrifugal Impeller for Passenger Car by Flow Field Analysis)

  • For the purpose of the enhancement of the air conditioner performance and fuel effciency, several cases of centrifugal impeller for passenger car air conditioner have been numerically analyzed by changing central angle of blades and length of outlet for shape optimization of the impeller. Commercial CFD program Fluent 6.3.26 has been used to compute velocity, temperature, pressure and turbulence intensity that can lead numerous results. The central angles of two blades and three cases of outlet length led 4~12% and 3.5~6.4% differences of velocity and flow rate, respectively. The velocity distribution near the blade surface was axisymmetric and had a maximum value of 22.19 m/s and velocity of the vertical direction of the impeller showed linear increase with horizontal direction. At case 3 of oultet length, there existed a a minimum pressure value of -133320 Pa.

블레이드 팁의 Groove 형상이 터빈 캐스케이드 팁 열전달 계수분포에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험적 연구 (Effect of Groove Shape of Blade Tip on Tip Surface Heat Transfer Coefficient Distributions of a Turbine Cascade)

  • 본 연구에서는 팁 형상이 가스터빈 블레이드의 팁 열전달에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 선형 캐스케이드의 블레이드에 설치된 평면 팁, 스퀼러 팁, Groove 팁들에 대하여 열전달 계수가 측정되었다. 블레이드 팁에서의 열전달 계수는 색상검출방식에 기반을 둔 천이액정법을 이용하여 측정되었으며 각각의 팁 형상에 대하여 팁 간극은 블레이드 스팬의 1.5%와 2.3% 두 조건에서 실험을 수행하였다. 캐스케이드 출구 속도와 블레이드 코드길이에 기초를 둔 Reynolds 수는 $2.48{\times}10^5$ 이다. Groove 팁 표면에서의 열전달 계수는 평면 팁보다 낮게 측정되었으며, 특히 흡입면을 따라 경사진 홈이 파인 팁에서는 스퀼러 팁보다 낮은 열전달 계수가 측정되었다.

전통건축에 사용된 자귀의 형태 변화에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Change of Shape of "Jagui" (Adze) Used in Korean Traditional Architecture)

  • The Axes and Adzes are the oldest tools since the beginning of human history which is used to cut the tree and make part of architecture such as boards, square timber etc. Nowadays, these old woodworking tools especially "Jagui(자귀)" (adze) has been almost disappeared at the working site of residential and cultural properties. It is necessary to study Korean traditional woodworking tools to keep Korean traditional skill and technology. It has been reviewed the change of shape of "Jagui(자귀)" (adze) from before Samhan (삼한) period to Joseon Dynasty through excavated relics and paintings and summarize as follows: Based on excavation relics of Dahori, both plate type blade and pocket type blade are used for "Tokki(도끼)" (axe) and "Jagui(자귀)" (adze). The excavated "Jagui(자귀)" (adze) from Jeongbaikri 356 tomb, near Pyongyang is prototype of "Jagui(자귀)" (adze) used nowdays which has almost same shape as well as the insert method of blade and handle. The auxiliary handle is inserted to blade and the main handle is inserted to the auxiliary handle which is different from the method of Chinese and Japanese "Jagui(자귀)" (adze). The length of handle of "Jagui(자귀)" (adze) until late Joseon Dynasty is short by which we assume it is used for a sitting position as hand held Jagui and from that time long handle has been introduced for a standing position which is called "Sunjagui(선자귀)". "Jagui(자귀)" (adze) has been used since the beginning of human history but it is almost disappeared at the most of woodworking site which is the crisis of Korean traditional architecture and we have to do something to keep it.

축류 압축기 팁 누설 유동의 비정상 특성에 관한 연구 (Unsteadiness of Tip Leakage Flow in an Axial Compressor)

  • Three dimensional unsteady numerical calculations were performed to investigate unsteadiness of the tip leakage flow in an axial compressor. The first stage of the four-stage low-speed research axial compressor was examined. Since this compressor has a relatively large tip clearance, the unsteadiness of the tip leakage flow is induced. Through the results from the unsteady calculations, the process of the induced unsteady tip leakage flow was investigated. It was shown that the leakage flow that occurred at a rotor blade tip clearance affected the pressure distribution on the pressure side near the tip of the adjacent blade, thus caused the fluctuation of the pressure difference between the pressure side and suction side. Consequently, the unsteady tip leakage flow was induced at the adjacent rotor blade. The unsteady feature of the tip leakage flow was changed as the operating point was moved. The interface between the tip leakage flow and the main flow only affected the trailing edge region at the design point whereas the interface influenced up to the leading edge at the low flow rate point. As the flow rate decreased, additionally, it was seen that the vortex size of the tip leakage flow increased and the relatively large length scale disturbance occurred. On the other hand, using frequency analysis, it was shown that the unsteadiness was not associated with the rotor speed and was about 40% of the blade passing frequency. This feature was explained in the rotor relative frame of reference, and the frequency decreased as the flow rate decreased.
