  • The hydrogen($H_2$) is promising energy carrier of renewable energy in the microgrid system such as small village and military base due to its high energy density, pure emission and convenient transportation. $H_2$ can be generated by photocatalytic water splitting, gasification of biomass and water electrolysis driven by solar cell or wind turbine. Solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs) are the most efficient way to mass production due to high operating temperature improving the electrode kinetics and reducing the electrolyte resistance. The SOECs are consist of nickel-yttria stabilized zirconia(NiO-YSZ) fuel electrode / YSZ electrolyte / lanthanum strontium manganite-YSZ(LSM-YSZ) air electrode due to similarity to Solid Oxide Fuel Cells(SOFCs). The Ni-YSZ most widely used fuel electrode shows several problems at SOEC mode such as degradation of the fuel electrode because of Ni particle's redox reaction and agglomeration. Therefore Ni-YSZ need to be replaced to an alternative fuel electrode material. In this study, We studied on the Double perovskite $PrBrMnO_{5+{\delta}}$(PBMO) due to its high electric conductivity, catalytic activity and electrochemical stability. PBMO was impregnated into the scaffold electrolyte $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}Ga_{0.85}Mg_{0.15}O_{3-{\delta}}$(LSGM) to be synthesized at low temperature for avoiding secondary phase generated when it exposed to high temperature. The Half cell test was conducted at SOECs and SOFCs modes.

  • As emerging the new electric devices, the commercial lithium ion batteries have faced with various challenges. In this regard, many efforts to solve challenges have been tried. In order to solve the above problems in terms of development of a new secondary battery, we successfully demonstrated the two electrocatalysts, such as MCWB and PPY hydrogel, PPY hydrogel and MCWB showed typical H3-type BET isotherm, indicating that micro- and mesopores existed. Especially, in terms of voltage efficiency at the first cycle, PPY hydrogel was higher than that of MCWB, but lower than that of PtC. More interestingly, the PPY hygrogel based seawater battery exhibited charge-discharge reversibility during 20 cycles, and the voltage efficiencies ranged from 70.32 % to 77.35 % in cyclic performance test.

  • Zero waste clean city was visualized by designing the environmental fundamental facilities such as automated waste collection and bio-energizing system of domestic waste, which was categorized into food and combustible waste from urban area. The biomass circulation position was applied to the domestic waste collection position combined with bio-energizing system in the zero waste clean city. Bio-energizing system consisted of bio-gasification, bio-fuel and bioenergy-circulation process. Food wastes were treated by bio-gasification with anaerobic digestion, and combustible wastes were made of bio-fuel with pyrolysis/drying. Biogas and bio-fuel was utilized into the electric generation or boiler heat in bioenergy-circulation process. The emission of carbon dioxide(CO2) and construction fee of the environmental fundamental facilities related with domestic waste was estimated in the existing city and zero waste clean city, assuming the amount of food waste 35 ton/day, combustible waste 20 ton/day from domestic area. Consequently, 2.7 times lower carbon dioxide emission and 15% construction fee of the environmental fundamental facilities related with domestic waste were obtained from the zero waste clean city by comparing with existing city.
