제주도 갯금불초(Wedelia prostrata Hemsl.) 자생지의 환경특성 (Environmental Characteristics of Wedelia prostrata Hemsl. Habitats in Jeju-do)

  • 본 연구는 산림청의 희귀식물 중 취약종으로 구분되어 있으며 제주도에만 제한적으로 분포하는 갯금불초의 자생지 환경을 조사하여 보전 및 복원 시 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 조사결과 갯금불초의 자생지는 경사 $1-40^{\circ}$의 해안사구에 위치하고 있었으며, 대부분 전사구를 중심으로 띠모양의 군락을 형성하고 있었다. 식생분석결과 7개 지역의 19개 방형구 내에서 조사된 관속식물은 총 38분류군이었다. 중요치는 갯금불초가 44.77%로 가장 높았으며, 다음으로는 순비기나무(13.32%), 좀보리사초(6.75%), 갯메꽃(4.24%), 갯쑥부쟁이(2.54%), 사철쑥(2.43%) 등이 높은 값을 보여 이 분류군들이 갯금불초와 친화도가 높은 것으로 판단된다. 종다양도는 평균 0.79로 산출되었으며, 우점도와 균등도는 각각 0.25와 0.67이었다. 토양분석결과 포장용수량은 4.51%, 유기물함량은 3.37%, pH는 8.17, 유효인산함량은 $1.33{\mu}g/g$, 그리고 전기전도도는 $802.01{\mu}s/cm$로 측정되었다.

Ginsenoside Rg3, a promising agent for NSCLC patients in the pandemic: a large-scale data mining and systemic biological analysis

  • Introduction: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients are particularly vulnerable to the Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19). Currently, no anti-NSCLC/COVID-19 treatment options are available. As ginsenoside Rg3 is beneficial to NSCLC patients and has been identified as an entry inhibitor of the virus, this study aims to explore underlying pharmacological mechanisms of ginsenoside Rg3 for the treatment of NSCLC patients with COVID-19. Methods: Based on a large-scale data mining and systemic biological analysis, this study investigated target genes, biological processes, pharmacological mechanisms, and underlying immune implications of ginsenoside Rg3 for NSCLC patients with COVID-19. Results: An important gene set containing 26 target genes was built. Target genes with significant prognostic value were identified, including baculoviral IAP repeat containing 5 (BIRC5), carbonic anhydrase 9 (CA9), endothelin receptor type B (EDNRB), glucagon receptor (GCGR), interleukin 2 (IL2), peptidyl arginine deiminase 4 (PADI4), and solute carrier organic anion transporter family member 1B1 (SLCO1B1). The expression of target genes was significantly correlated with the infiltration level of macrophages, eosinophils, natural killer cells, and T lymphocytes. Ginsenoside Rg3 may benefit NSCLC patients with COVID-19 by regulating signaling pathways primarily involved in anti-inflammation, immunomodulation, cell cycle, cell fate, carcinogenesis, and hemodynamics. Conclusions: This study provided a comprehensive strategy for drug discovery in NSCLC and COVID-19 based on systemic biology approaches. Ginsenoside Rg3 may be a prospective drug for NSCLC patients with COVID-19. Future studies are needed to determine the value of ginsenoside Rg3 for NSCLC patients with COVID-19.

저장중면양근육내(貯藏中緬羊筋肉內)에서의 보수성(保水性), 단백질추출성(蛋白質抽出性) 및 pH의 변화(變化) (Changes in the Water-Holding Capacity Extractability of Proteins and pH Value of Ovine Muscle During Storage)

  • 본실험(本實驗)에서는 저장중(貯藏中)에 면양근육내(績羊筋肉內)의 보수성(保水性), 단백질(蛋白質) 추출성(抽出性) 및 pH에 대(對)한 변화(變化)의 차이(差異)를 관찰(觀察)하였다. 보수성(保水性)은 pH치(値)와 같이 도살후(屠殺後) 서서히 저하(低下)되어 약(約) 2-4시간후(時間後) 최소치(最少値)에 도달(到達)하였다가 그 후(後) 저장(貯藏)의 진행(進行)과 더불어 회복(回復)되였다. 단백질추출성(蛋白質抽出性)도 같은 경향(傾向)을 보였으나 도살후(屠殺後) 6시간(時間)까지 pH치(値)의 변화(變化)는 보수성(保水性) 및 단백질(蛋白質) 추출성(抽出性)의 변화(變化)보다 더 빨랐다. 10일간저장중(日間貯藏中) 보수성(保水性), 단백질추출성(蛋白質抽出性) 및 pH치(値)의 회복(回復)의 속도(速度)도 같은 양상(樣相)을 보였다.

복합조미료의 유통기한 설정 및 포장저장중 품질변화 (Prediction of shelf-life and change of quality attributes in packaged composite seasoning during storage)

  • 시판 쇠고기 맛 복합조미료를 PE/Al/PE/PET의 적층포장재로 포장저장중 온도인자에 의한 $Q_{10}$값은 2.54였으며 이로부터 $35^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$$15^{\circ}C$에서의 shelf-life는 각각 29주, 73주 및 185주로 예측되었다. 색상중 L값은 $50^{\circ}C$ 저장중 다소 감소하였으나 a 및 b값은 큰 변화가 없었으며 색상과 기호도와의 상관계수는 대체로 낮게 나타났다. 갈변도와 카르보닐값은 저장중온도가 높을수록 증가하는 경향이었으며 기호도와의 상관계수는 비교적 높게 나타났다. 수분, 염도 및 총당은 저장 전기간중 KS-규격기준에 적합하였다.

순천 히어리 군락지역의 생물다양성 보전가치 추정 (Estimation of the Biodiversity Conservation Value about the Heory Stock in Sun-Cheon)

  • 본 연구는 조건부가치평가법을 사용하여 순천 희어리 군락지의 생물다양성 보전가치를 추정하는데 목적이 있다. 지불의사유도 방법에 따라 3가지 다른 모형별로 순천 희어리 군락지의 생물다양성 보전가치를 추정하여 제시하였다. 추정된 금액의 평균값을 계산하여 보면, 멸종위기 희귀식물종 서식지역(순천시 서면 히어리 군락지)의 생물다양성 보전에 따른 순천지역 주민의 가구당 월 평균지불의사금액은 약 3,380원, 연간 총 가치는 약 33억원으로 추정되었다. 이러한 추정결과는 순천시 서면 히어리 군락지에 생물다양성 보전프로그램이 실시될 경우, 지역주민의 생계활동(농사, 임업 등)과 관련된 편익, 생태관광 및 산책과 같은 여가활동으로 인한 편익, 후손 및 미래이용을 위한 편익, 그리고 멸종위기 희귀동식물 서식지역 보호로 인한 편익 등의 가치가 약 33억원 발생한다는 것을 시사하고 있다.

Chinoketides A and B, Two New Antimicrobial Polyketides from the Endophytes of Distylium chinense with the "Black-Box" Co-culture Method

  • Two new polyketides, chinoketides A and B (1 - 2) with a known compound xylarphthalide A (3), were isolated from the solid medium of the endophytes from the leaves of the relic plant Distylium chinense with the "black-box" co-culture method, and the structures of two new compounds were elucidated by NMR, MS and CD spectra. And the absolute configurations of chinoketides A (1) and B (2) were determined as 2R,3R,8S and 5R,6S by calculating their ECD spectra to compare with the experimental CD spectra. Finally, the antimicrobial activities were evaluated to Erwinia carotovora sub sp. Carotovora (Jones) Bersey et al, and the results showed that compounds 1 - 3 displayed the antimicrobial activities with MIC value at 20.5, 30.4 and $10.2{\mu}g/mL$.

QFD 기법을 이용한 특정 유해가스 노출제어 이온선택성 보호복 소재개발연구 (Study of Development of Selective Removal Adsorption Ion Exchange Resin Materials for Fabricated with Chemical-biological Cloth by QFD)

  • Purpose: Through studying the expert's and non-experts panel responses to the questions regarding the attributes of chemical-biological protection cloth quality in terms of the levels of customer demand and technical factors has been studied. We are applied to a QFD matrix with find out the relationship between the selective removal efficiency of chemical-biological cloth and the guidelines of technical approach. Methods: We fabricated several composite of ion-exchange resins with selectively permeable performance designed to facilities water vapor transport and selective adsorption of the harmful gases. With these materials, we characterized on the selectively permeable performance to identify ion-exchange resin with chemical-biological protective cloth. Results: Results showed that ion exchange materials possessed performance with selectively efficiencies as NH3, SOx, NOx and HCl gas. The selective adsorption amount of ammonia and hydrogen gases were $90-80{\mu}g/g$ with TRILITE SCR-BH sulfonated ion exchange resin. The PP non-woven/ion exchange resin adsorbent materials possessed performance with water vapor permeability were 1,100-1,350 g/m2/day, it's was two times high value compare with activated carbon. With these materials, we characterized selectively removal efficiency to identify new ion-exchange material with chemical-biological protective capability. Conclusion: This study shows that a QFD aids in deciding with of the adsorption parameters to optimized with chemical-biological protection cloth manufacturing.

육상수조 어류양식 생존율에 따른 비용분석모형 (Cost Analysis Model according to Mortality in Land-based Aquaculture)

  • Fish mortality is the most important success factor in aquaculture management. To analyze the effect of mortality considering biological and economic condition is a important problem in land-based aquaculture. This study is aimed to analyze the effect of mortality for duration of cultivation in land-based aquaculture. This study builds the mathematical model that finds the value of decision variable to minimize cost that sums up the water pool usage cost, sorting cost, fingerling cost and feeding cost under critical standing corp constraint. The proposed mathematical model involves many aspects, both biological and economical: (1) number of fingerlings (2) timing and number of batch splitting event, based on (3) fish growth rate, (4) mortality, and (5) several farming expense. Numerical simulation model presented here in. The objective of numerical simulation is to provide for decision makers to analyse and comprehend the proposed model. When extensive biological and cost data become available, the proposed model can be widely applied to yield more accurate results.

Gene-set based genome-wide association analysis for the speed of sound in two skeletal sites of Korean women

  • The speed of sound (SOS) value is an indicator of bone mineral density (BMD). Previous genome-wide association (GWA) studies have identified a number of genes, whose variations may affect BMD levels. However, their biological implications have been elusive. We re-analyzed the GWA study dataset for the SOS values in skeletal sites of 4,659 Korean women, using a gene-set analysis software, GSA-SNP. We identified 10 common representative GO terms, and 17 candidate genes between these two traits (PGS < 0.05). Implication of these GO terms and genes in the bone mechanism is well supported by the literature survey. Interestingly, the significance levels of some member genes were inversely related, in several gene-sets that were shared between two skeletal sites. This implies that biological process, rather than SNP or gene, is the substantial unit of genetic association for SOS in bone. In conclusion, our findings may provide new insights into the biological mechanisms for BMD.

Chilli anthracnose (Colletotrichum spp.) disease and its management approach

  • Chilli is a widely consumed crop throughout the world. However, chilli anthracnose is a major constraint in chilli production leading to huge economic losses worldwide. Colletotrichum is a large genus of Ascomycete fungi, containing species that cause anthracnose diseases on a wide range of crops of economic value. This review is aimed at critically and accurately examining the taxonomic identification of Colletotrichum species by morphological and molecular approaches as well as assessing their management options. The use of appropriate integrated management practices, such as cultural, mechanical, chemical, and biological control, are important in chilli anthracnose disease prevention and control. Emphasis is laid on the use of biological control because it is cost effective and eco-friendly, and is an appropriate approach for disease management. The use of resistant cultivars is the cheapest, easiest, safest, and most effective means of controlling crop diseases. But, since no resistant cultivars of chilli have been developed and commercialized, it is very important to develop biological management strategies. Further studies leading to integrated disease management strategies need to be carried out.
