  • The response characteristics of the bioelectrode developed by the co-immobilization of spinach root tissue and ferrocene in a carbon paste matrix for the amperometric determination of hydrogen peroxide were evaluated. In the range of electrode potential examined (-0.3~0.0V vs. Ag/AgCl). the response time was relatively short ($t_{95%}=11.8$ sec) and it responded in the wide range of pH. Also, its detection limit was $2.25{\times}10^{-6}M$ (S/N=3) and a relative standard deviation of the measurements which were repeated 15 times using $1.0{\times}10^{-3}M$ hydrogen peroxide was 1.87%. The bioelectrode sensitivity decreased to 40% of the original value in 19 days of continuous use.

  • The response characteristics of the bioelectrode developed by the co-immobilization of black goat liver tissue and ferrocene in a carbon paste matrix for the amperometric determination of hydrogen peroxide were evaluated. In the range of electrode potential examined ($-0.3{\sim}+0.0\;V$ vs. Ag/AgCl), the response time was relatively short (t95%=12 s) and it responded in the wide range of pH. The detection limit was 2.25${\times)10^{-6}M$ and a relative standard deviation of the measurements which were repeated 15 times using 1.0${\times}10^{-2 }$M hydrogen peroxide was 1.87%. The bioelectrode sensitivity decreased to 50% of the original value in 19 days of continuous use.

  • The response characteristics of a new biosensor, which was developed by co-immobilisation of chicken liver tissue and ferrocene in a carbon paste matrix for the amperometric determination of hydrogen peroxide, was evaluated. In the range of electrode potential observed ( - 0.5∼ + 0.05 V vs Ag/AgCl), the bioelectrode showed the response time ($t_{95%}$) as low as 13 sec and the detection limit of $5.1{\times}10^{-5}$ M, and exhibited a good selectivity in the case of the addition of the possible interferents tested. Also it offered a high biocatalytic stability and opened up the possibility for the construction of a mediatorless biosensor.

  • Skin-compatible electronics have evolved to achieve both conformality and stretchability for stable contact with deformable biological skin. While existing research has largely concentrated on alternative materials, the potential of Parylene-based thin-film electrodes for stretchable on-skin applications remains relatively untapped. This study proposes an engineering strategy to achieve stretchability using the Parylene thin-film electrode. Unlike the conventional Parylene thin-film electrode, we introduce morphological adaptability via controlled microscale slits in the Parylene electrode structure. The slits-containing device enables unprecedented stretchability while maintaining critical electrical insulation properties during mechanical deformation. Finally, the demonstration on human skin shows the mechanical adaptability of these Parylene-based bioelectrodes while their electrical characteristics remain stable during various stretching conditions. Owing to the ultra-thinness of the Parylene coating, the wearable bioelectrode not only achieves stretchability but also conforms to the skin. Our findings broaden the practical use of Parylene thin-film bioelectrodes.

  • In this study, the bio-impedance of the human body is able to obtain a lot of information by monitoring the pathological and physiological conditions of clinical and biological tissues. The four electrode method system for biometrics measured the potential difference between two electrodes and the other two electrodes were used as electrodes for current flow. The newly developed dry gold electrode measured impedance from 1 Hz to 50 kHz and produced reproducible results. To verify the impedance measurement of the dry electrode, the pitting was performed using an equivalent circuit model of the bioelectrode skin, and the effectiveness was demonstrated through modeling. Fixed electrode types have a constant position of the electrodes attached during the measurement, so that a stable measurement can be obtained, thereby minimizing the error.
