This research evaluated the effect of two main sources on the results of the ocean regional circulation model (ORCMs) during downscaling and nesting the results from the coarse data. The two sources should be the domain size, and temporal and spatial resolution different between driving and driven data. The Big-Brother Experiment is applied to examine the impact of them on the results of the ORCMs separately. Within resolution of 3km grid point ORCMs applying in the Big-Brother Experiment framework, it showed that the simulation results of the ORCMs depend on the domain size and specially the spatial and temporal resolution of lateral boundary conditions (LBCs). The domain size can be selected at 9.5 times larger than the interest area, and the spatial resolution between driving data and driven model can be up to 3 of ratio resolution and updating frequency of the LBCs can be up to every 6 hours per day.

네이스를 둘러싼 논란은 네이스의 구축과 이용에서 빚어질 수 있는 인권침해에 관한 우려에서 비롯되었다. 네이스처럼 엄청난 양의 개인정보를 집적해서 이용하는 정보망은 언제나 심각한 인권침해의 우려를 안고 있다. 그러나 교육부는 정보기술의 도구적 효율성에 현혹되어 '빅 브라더'가 되지 않도록 최선을 다해야 할 의무를 사실상 저버리려고 했다. 또한 네이스는 '전자정부'라는 이름으로 강력하게 추진되고 있는 한국의 정보화 정책이 안고 있는 문제를 잘 보여준다. 한국의 정보화 정책은 정보기술의 경제적 가능성을 무엇보다 강조하는 국가주의적 경제성장정책의 성격을 강하게 가지고 있다. 이런 상황에서는 인권의 보호보다는 이윤의 추구가 더 중요하게 여겨지기 십상이다. 인권을 먹이로 정보자본주의를 육성하게 되는 것이다. 네이스의 문제를 바로잡기 위해서는 네이스 자체를 넘어서 전자정부의 추진과 관련되는 이러한 의혹을 밝혀야 한다. 네이스 논란은 인권에 대한 무시 혹은 경시를 낳은 역사에 대한 관심으로 이런 역사의 가장 중요한 산물인 주민등록제도의 개혁으로 그리고 독립적 개인정보보호법의 제정과 개인정보보호기구의 창설로 이어져야 한다.

스마트 물관리 분야에서도 빅데이터 분석을 통해 경쟁력을 강화하려는 요구가 급증하면서 빅데이터에 대한 체계적인 관리(거버넌스)가 중요한 이슈로 부각되고 있다. 빅데이터 거버넌스는 데이터의 품질보장, 프라이버시 보호, 데이터 수명관리, 데이터 전담조직을 통한 데이터 소유 및 관리권의 명확화 등의 데이터 관리를 평가하고(Evaluation), 지시하며(Direction), 모니터링(Monitoring) 하는 체계적인 관리활동을 의미한다. 빅데이터 거버넌스가 확립되지 못하면 중요한 의사결정에 품질이 낮은 데이터를 사용함으로써 심각한 문제를 야기할 수 있으며, 개인 프라이버시 관련 데이터로 인해 빅브라더의 우려가 현실화될 수 있고, 폭증하는 데이터의 수명관리 소홀로 인해 IT 비용이 급증하기도 한다. 이러한 기술적인 문제가 완비되더라도 데이터 관련 문제를 전담하고 책임지는 조직과 인력이 없다면 빅데이터 효과는 지속되지 못할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 빅데이터 기반의 스마트 물관리를 위한 데이터 거버넌스 구축모델을 제시하고, 실제 물관리 업무에 적용한 사례를 소개한다.

본 연구에서는 과학영재학교에 조기입학한 학생들을 대상으로 조기입학의 경험에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울에 위치한 과학영재고등학교 조기입학생 13명을 대상으로 인터뷰를 실시하고 현상학적 연구방법 중 Giorgi 방법을 활용하여 결과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 13개의 주제와 5개의 중심의미를 추출하였다. 조기입학 학생들은 연습삼아 지원했다가 합격하게 되면서 준비 없이 1년을 단축하고 고등학교에 입학하게 되는 것에 대해 두려움을 경험하지만 따라잡음에 대한 문제는 크게 없는 것으로 나타났다. 학교에서 제공하는 차별화된 교육과정, 기숙사 생활, 학생들의 학습을 중시하는 분위기 등이 학교적응에 긍정적인 역할을 하였으며, 리더로 나서기가 어렵거나 뭔가 부족한 면을 가지고 있다 하더라도 시간이 지나면서 서로 적응하고 결국에는 형이라고 부르는 친구가 되는데, 이러한 과정에서 개인의 성격이 중요한 것을 볼 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 조기입학 같은 학생 배치 문제는 나이의 문제가 아니라 학교의 분위기나 개인의 성격을 고려하여 결정해야 할 문제임을 시사한다고 볼 수 있다.

This paper looks into the complexity of the comparative and conflictive elements portrayed on the novel Nada. Through the interpretation of the actions of the female characters, we can classify them into two different categories: pro-Franco and anti-Franco system. Thus, for example, the character Ena is an active, intellectual and liberal woman capable to manipulate and control men who lives at her own free will. This active and liberal personality is clearly not the favored type of woman under Franco, which prefers a society where men are the dominant figures. Another female character, Gloria, places herself far from the Catholicism based morality during the Franco period as she is having an affair with her husband's brother. We also find examples of the opposite, that is, affinity with Franco ideals, such as Angustias' decision to become a member of the convent, in line with the motto "Spain, united and great, through Catholicism"; the example of Ena's mother, nurturing six sons and daughters, also resonates with Franco ideology of a woman's role in the Spanish society, being mostly a reproductive instrument. One of the topics of this novel is the confrontation between the prewar petit bourgeoisie and the new postwar bourgeoisie. We can appreciate a big difference between the lifes of Andrea's family and Pons' family. Andrea has friendly relationships with friends from the new bourgeoisie; however, these interactions are not genuine, but superficial. Because of that, we also conclude that this novel reflects the underlying conflicts between different social strata. We also observe the conflicts and confrontations between republicans and nationalists in this society, through the relationships between two brothers, Juan y $Rom{\acute{a}}n$. During the civil war, Juan collaborates with the national faction, while $Rom{\acute{a}}n$ joins the republican faction. Consequently, they separate from each other due to their different ideologies. We will conclude that this novel also reflects on the idea that the Spanish civil war destroyed fraternity and separated families.

Under the inhumane oppression of imperialism, the Third World's political violence has been often represented as an immediate and explosive one with an instant, concentrated visibility. Yet the ecological and psychological exploitation of the Third-World countries by empires, as Rob Nixon insists, shows the relative invisibility of slow violence. This paper is to reveal this slow violence of the marginalized areas symbolized as the lowland. Although Arne Naess' deep ecology promotes the inherent worth of living beings regardless of their instrumental utility to human needs. this paper deals with three postcolonial ecological textbooks which criticize the white-centered deep ecology: Amitav Ghosh's The Glass Palace, Jhumpa Lahiri's The Lowland, and Barbara Kingsolver's The Poisonwood Bible. Through postcolonial critical study, this paper finds out that all these three works have some themes in common. First, these postcolonial works assume a shape of family saga which is parallel to the slow violence of ecological and psychological plundering of empires in the postcolonial countries. Second, like the mangroves which have a tenacious hold on life, these postcolonial people rather overcome the heterogenic challenge with the sturdy and tough mind than defeated. Third, the native people's ethics of earth functions as the stronghold for their respectable lifestyle in their indigenous historicity. Finally, as a big fat brother, the Americanized globalization or neoliberalism is warned as the neocolonialism which is often shown as the disguised pattern of greenwashing. Namely, the people's self-enhancement is always prior to the imperialistic development or neoliberalism in the postcolonial ecological texts which sharply contrast the native's life consciousness and the empire's development theory.

과거 영화가 예술성을 함유하며 동시대의 문학, 종교, 철학 등을 담아냈던 것과 달리 최근엔 외형적으로 흥미로운 구성과 자극되는 장면위주로 제작되고 있다. 좋은 영화란 흥미로운 스토리 밑에서 스며 나오듯 감독의 주제 메시지가 감동적으로 표현되며 동시대의 사회 면모에 대한 감독의 날카로운 시선인 사회의제를 공감할 수 있어야 한다. 코엔형제들의 영화를 살펴보면 아이러니와 해프닝을 통한 전형적인 블랙 코미디 장르의 오락 영화인 것 같으나 실제로는 자국의 사회문제를 영화 곳곳에 수없이 많이 삽입하며 관조적 시점에서 냉소적으로 자신들의 사회의제를 훌륭히 표현해 내고 있음을 볼 수 있다. 그들의 영화 "위대한 레보스키(1998)"를 보면 주인공 캐릭터들의 천덕스런 모습을 통해 코믹한 내용을 창출해 내고 있는 것 같지만 실제로는 사회 부적응 자를 양산한 역사적 사실에 대한 사회의제를 블랙코미디로 희화화하는 등 베트남전, 포스트모더니즘, 우민화정책 등 미국 사회문제 들을 섭텍스트(sub-text)로 표현하고 있는 감독의 탁월한 연출임을 알 수 있다. 이와 같은 문화적 파급력을 가진 영화를 분석함으로 한국의 영화산업의 진일보에 일조하기를 기대한다.

1 Intonation is important. It cannot be ignored. To convince students of the importance of intonation, we can use sentences with two very different interpretations according to intonation. Example: "I thought it would rain" with a fallon "rain" means it did not rain, but with a fall on "thought" and a rise on "rain" it means that it did rain. 2 Although complex, intonation is structured. For both teacher and student, the big job of tackling intonation is made simpler by remembering that intonation can be analysed into systems and units. There are three main systems in English intonation: Tonality (division into phrases) Tonicity (selection of accented syllables) Tone (the choice of pitch movements) Examples: Tonality: My brother who lives in London is a doctor. Tonicity: Hello. How ARE you. Hello. How are YOU. Tone: Ways to say "Thank you" 3 In deciding what to teach, we must distinguish what is universal from what is specifically English. This is where contrastive studies of intonation are very valuable. Usually, for instance, division into phrases (tonality) works in broadly similar ways across languages. Some uses of pitch are also similar across languages - for example, very high pitch may signal excitement or urgency. 4 Although most people think that intonation is mainly about pitch (the tone system), actually accent placement (tonicity) is probably the single most important aspect of English intonation. This is because it is connected with information focus, and the effects on interpretation are very clear-cut. Example: They asked for coffee, so I made them coffee. (The second occurrence of "coffee" must not be accented). 5 Ear-training is the beginning of intonation training in the VeL approach. First, students learn to identify fall vs rise vs fall-rise. To begin with, single words are used, then phrases and sentences. When learning tones, the fIrst words used should have unstressed syllables after the stressed syllable (Saturday) to make the pitch movement clearer. 6 In production drills, the fIrst thing is to establish simple neutral patterns. There should be no drama or really special meanings. Simple drills can be used to teach important patterns: Example: A: Peter likes football B: Yes JOHN likes football TOO A: Mary rides a bike B: Yes JENny rides a bike TOO 7 The teacher must be systematic and let learners KNOW what they are learning. It is no good using new patterns and hoping that students will "pick them up" without noticing. 8 Visual feedback of fundamental frequency with a computer display can help students learn correct patterns. The teacher can use the display to demonstrate patterns, or students can practise by themselves, imitating recorded models.
