A series of aromatic poly(hydroxyamide)s (PHAs) containing varying oligo(oxyethylene) substituents and 1,3-phenylene imide ring unit in the main chain were synthesized by the direct polycondensation reaction. The inherent viscosities of the PHAs exhibited in the range of 0.89~1.12 dL/g in DMAc or DMAc/LiCl solution. The PH-2~5 copolymers were easily soluble in strong aprotic solvents: DMAc, NMP, DMSO etc. and the PH-5 copolymer was soluble in less polar solvents such as m-creasol and pyridine with LiCl salt on heating. However, all PBOs were quite insoluble in other solvents, but only partially soluble in sulfuric acid. All copolymers (PH-2~5) could afford the flexible and tough films by solution casting. We identified that the PHAs were converted to the PBOs by the thermal cyclization reaction in the range of $200{\sim}380^{\circ}C$. The 10% weight loss temperatures and char yields of the PBOs were recorded in the range of $382{\sim}647^{\circ}C$ and 38.7~73.1% values at $900^{\circ}C$. The tensile strength and initial modulus of the PH-5 in the copolmers showed the highest values of 2.46 GPa and 49.55 MPa, respectively. The LOI values of the PHAs were in the range 26.6~29.0%, and increased with increasing 1,3-phenylene imide ring unit.
Clothes enhance visual images through the interaction between space and background of the wearer. The influence of background is important as that of the clothes when the observer understands the images. We look at fashion pictures used as important as that various backgrounds are presented depending on the image of the clothes. The clothing the model wears in the pictures takes on shape and space which supports the clothes. The background interact to from the whole image. The background has an important influence on the delivery of image for the clothes. However when the clothes are presented in the background there are some cases that all or parts of clothes can be shown. We must consider the composition ratio of the clothes and background which influences the whole image of the clothing. These interactions and influences on the whole image in regards to clothing background and the ratio will be the focus of this study. clothing was Modern Mannish Casual, Feminine, Ground was decided artificial setting 1 natural setting 1, indoor setting 1, artificial setting 2, natural setting 2, indoor setting 2, Percentage of Clothing was 80% , 140%, 200%,. Thus visual stimulus were 72 pictures that were combined Clothing Ground and Percentage of Clothing, the main survey of questionary consisted of their evaluation of the Picture image combined Clothing and Ground by 30 semantic differential bi-polar scales and the subjects were 50 students majoring in clothing and textile. The data analyzed by factor analysis MCA, MDS, The major finding were as follows : 1) As a result of factor analysis, 5 factors -Attractiveness Hardness and softness Cuteness Attention Cool and Warm factor were found out as constructing factors the Picture image combined Clothing and Ground 2) According to multidimensional positioning map were presented in a stimulus position the perceptive image differed in degree of similarity as a ground construction of stimulus in spite of same clothing image. It will aid in choosing the most beneficial background for any clothing brand. It will enhance the picture images to their full potential in any advertising medium.
Objectives Treatment response of bipolar disorders (BDs) to long-term mood stabilizers maintenance has not been well explored because of complicated clinical and treatment courses. This study aims at investigating long-term clinical response of BDs to lithium and/or valproate in a naturalistic setting of a tertiary-care university-affiliated hospital. Methods Subjects were 65 patients with bipolar I (BD-I) disorders who had been treated with lithium and/or valproate for more than two years at single bipolar disorder clinic. Long-term response to the best treatment based on treatment algorithms and the current clinical standard of care was retrospectively evaluated using the Alda Scale and the Clinical Global Impression Scale for use in bi-polar illness (CGI-BP). Patients were classified into full responder and partial/non responder groups based on the total score of the Alda Scale with the cut-off score generated from the frequentist mixture analysis of the authors' previous study. Results The mean duration of treatment with the index medication was 69.2 months. Baseline demographic and clinical characteristics were not different among three mood stabilizer groups (valproate, lithium, and combination groups). Twenty-one subjects were classified into full responder group (32.3%). Treatment response assessed by the Alda Scale and CGI-BP scores was not different between lithium and valproate groups. The Alda Scale scores were well correlated with the CGI-BP scores (p < 0.05). Conclusions One third of the patients showed a full response to the long-term lithium and/or valproate treatment in BD-I. The degree of response was similar between lithium and valproate groups.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the subjective sensations and preference for spring/fall casual cotton shirt fabrics, and to assist in developing shirt fabrics that offer maximum comfort in wearing sensation. The subjects of this study were male and female college students who assessed the tactile sensation of seven types of spring/fall shirt fabrics available on the market: plain weave and rib weave made of cotton and that of cotton mixed fabrics. The subjects were university students between the ages of 20 to 23, who were residing in the city of Cheongju, Korea. The questionnaires related to the fabrics hand were evaluated using a nine point bi-polar scale of 9 descriptive terms. Mean, t-test, F-test and $X^2$ were used for data analysis. The fabric hand evaluation on the seven types of shirts showed a significant difference in all of the 9 descriptive terms. There were partially significant differences in the subjective sensations according to fabric characteristics regarding shirt fabrics. As regards the difference in fabric hand according to gender, female students responded with more receptiveness and sensitivity than male students in the category of woven fabric evaluation. In particular, female students responded with more sensitivity to the sensation of dense and wrinkle sensations. There were significant differences in the purchase preference according to gender regarding casual shirt fabrics. Plain weave fabrics made of cotton was most preferred among male students, whereas rib weave fabrics made of cotton/polyester was most preferred among female students.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of tone-on-tone coloration on the visual images of traditional Korean dress. The materials in the experiment developed for this study were made up of various stimuli and the response scales for each stimulus. The stimuli were 48 color pictures with various combination of colors, in which the tones of jackets and skirts were manipulated by computer drawing. 24 bi-polar adjectives, each of which was graded into seven in its degree, were used to evaluate each image. The subjects were 576 female students in Jinju City. This experiment was based on the $3{\times}4{\times}4$ factorial designs: color (red, yellow and green), jacket tone (vivid, light, dull and dark) and skirt tone (vivid, light, dull and dark). The results of the study can be summarized as follows; Impression factor of the stimuli consisted of the 5 different dimensions - youthfullness and activity, attractiveness, gracefullness, visibility, and tenderness. The colors and the tone of jackets and skirts used in this experiment influenced 5 impression dimension by interaction of two valuables or working independently. Yellow and green with vivid or light tone had an effect on the formation of youth and activity image, and dark-light combination had an effect on the formation of attractiveness image. In case of green color, light tone of a jacket and vivid or dull tone of a skirt affected gracefulness, while yellow has no impact on visibility image regardless of skirt tone. Red and yellow with vivid or light tone were a factor to decide tenderness.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the visual illusions and image of the combinated collars and sleeves which are combinated by the computer simulation. The detail object of this study as follows; 1) to know the visual illusions of the clothing as the collar and sleeves are combinated 2) to constract the clothing image using sementic differential scales 3) to know the differet image of the clothing as the collars and sleeves are combinted 4) to know the interaction effect of the collars and sleeves of the clothing The detail method of this study is as follows; In the first experiment, there are two groups; the first 8 groups are the combination of the same collar and the different sleeves. The second 8 groups are the combination of the same sleeve and the different collars. The second experiment has done for the 32 clothings which are the combination of the 8 collars and 4 sleeves. For the 14 clothing the image has tested by 13 semantic differential bi- polar scale. The subjects were 50 female students majoring in clothing and textile. The data analyzed by Kendall cofficient of concodance, Factor analysis, Anova and scheffe's test. Briefly the image of the clothing is much influenced by the varing of the collar than that of the sleeve. Thus, we also can conclude that the recognition of the clothing are much more dependent on the collar than sleeve.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of shirt color, tie color, tone, perceiver' gender on impression formation by applying tone-in-tone coloration of shirt and necktie: coloration of two colors. This experiment was designed to utilize the $2{\times}6{\times}4{\times}2$ factorial designs. and they are shirt color(red, blue), tie color(red, yellow red, yellow, green, blue, purple), tone(vivid, light, dull, dark), and perceiver' gender(a male, a female). The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stimulus and response scales. The stimuli were 48 upper body photographs which were color outputs by CAD system(4D-box program). The subjects of this research were 288 male and 288 female college students. There were established impression dimension from factor analysis 27 bi-polar adjectives and investigated the effect of interaction between each variable affected impression formations. The items of the adjectives are classified into 4 Impression dimensions: activity, potency, attractiveness, and tenderness. Shirt color, tie color, tone, and perceiver' gender influenced on impression formation. Specially, tie color and tone influenced on the 4 impression dimension greatly by interaction as well as independently. As a result tie is very important clue of impression formation in tone-in-tone coloration of shirt and necktie. Even though tie occupies only a small area in men's clothes it has great effect since it is close to the face.
The agar-degrading bacterium GNUM-1 was isolated from the brown algal species Sargassum serratifolium, which was obtained from the West Sea of Korea, by using the selective artificial seawater agar plate. The cells were Gram-negative, $0.5-0.6{\mu}m$ wide and $2.0-2.5{\mu}m$ long curved rods with a single polar flagellum, forming nonpigmented, circular, smooth colonies. Cells grew at $20^{\circ}C-37^{\circ}C$, between pH 5.0 and 9.0, and at 1-10% (w/v) NaCl. The DNA G+C content of the GNUM-1 strain was 45.5 mol%. The 16S rRNA sequence of the GNUM-1 was very similar to those of Alteromonas stellipolaris LMG 21861 (99.86% sequence homology) and Alteromonas addita $R10SW13^T$(99.64% sequence homology), which led us to assign it to the genus Alteromonas. It showed positive activities for agarase, amylase, gelatinase, alkaline phosphatase, esterase (C8), lipase (C14), leucine arylamidase, valine arylamidase, ${\alpha}$-chymotrypsin, acid phosphatase, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, ${\alpha}$-galactosidase, ${\beta}$-galactosidase, ${\beta}$-glucosidase, catalase, and urease. It can utilize citrate, malic acid, and trisodium citrate. The major fatty acids were summed feature 3 (21.5%, comprising $C_{16:1}{\omega}7c/iso-C_{15:0}$ 2-OH) and C16:0 (15.04%). On the basis of the variations in many biochemical characteristics, GNUM-1 was considered as unique and thus was named Alteromonas sp. GNUM-1. It produced the highest agarase activity in modified ASW medium containing 0.4% sucrose, but lower activity in rich media despite superior growth, implying that agarase production is tightly regulated and repressed in a rich nutrient condition. The 30 kDa protein with agarase activity was identified by zymography, and this report serves as the very first account of such a protein in the genus Alteromonas.

We report on development of a ground-based bi-axial Search-Coil Magnetometer (SCM) designed to measure time-varying magnetic fields associated with magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling processes. The instrument provides two-axis magnetic field wave vector data in the Ultra Low Frequency or ULF (1 mHz to 5 Hz) range. ULF waves are well known to play an important role in energy transport and loss in geospace. The SCM will primarily be used to observe generation and propagation of the subclass of ULF waves. The analog signals produced by the search-coil magnetic sensors are amplified and filtered over a specified frequency range via electronics. Data acquisition system digitizes data at 10 samples/s rate with 16-bit resolution. Test results show that the resolution of the magnetometer reaches $0.1pT/{\sqrt{Hz}}$ at 1 Hz, and demonstrate its satisfactory performance, detecting geomagnetic pulsations. This instrument is scheduled to be installed at the Korean Antarctic station, Jang Bogo, in the austral summer 2016-2017.
