If a photovoltaic (PV) system is installed in a primary feeder interconnected with the PV system, bi-directional power flow can occur, and then, the magnitude and direction of the fault current can change, depending on the fault location and point of common coupling (PCC) of the PV system, and the time current curve (TCC) cannot be properly coordinated between protection devices. Also, it is difficult to obtain a proper time interval for protection devices because the conventional setting approach is applied, even though the PV system is installed and operating. Therefore, this paper presents three operation modes considering the operational conditions of the PV system to obtain setting values for protection devices. Based on the mode, this paper proposes an algorithm to calculate the optimal protection coordination time interval according to the introduction capacity of the PV system. In addition, this paper performs modelling of a distribution system with the PV system and protection devices by using Off-DAS S/W, and analyzes the characteristics of the time interval between the protection devices, such as substation relays, reclosers, customer relays, and PV customer relays. The simulation results confirmed that the proposed operational modes and setting-value algorithms are useful and effective for protection coordination in a distribution system for a PV system.
We have deposited the bilayer consisted of the underlayer and the overlayer by using DC magnetron sputter on Single crystal MgO (001) substrate. This bilayer was fabricated at fixed annealing temperature and time. We have controlled agglomeration effect by changing of the bilayer thickness. Finally, we have made the self-organization and nano-structured film. In this processing, we have made nano-dot which consists of the underlayer and the overlayer, unlike the existing method called the agglomeration effect in the single layer. The underlayer has deposited using Ti, Cr and Co. And the overlayer has deposited with Ag. Through the analysis of Atomic force microscopy (AFM), the microstructure of underlayer is observed by AFM to confirm the formation of nano-dot. As the nano-dot through above processing, we have found that the nano-dot has the different shape. As a result, when we manufactured nano-dot through the agglomeration effect of bi-layer, the best matching material is Ti for underlayer. And also, we have found that MgO/Ti/Ag samples have been grown expitaxially toward the direction of MgO (001) by X-ray Diffraction analysis.
The recently published and new results on design and fabrication of magnetophotonic crystals of different dimensionality are surveyed. Coupling of polarized light to 3D photonic crystals based on synthetic opals was studied in the case of low dielectric contrast. Transmissivity of opals was demonstrated to strongly depend on the propagation direction of light and its polarization. It was shown that in a vicinity of the frequency of a single Bragg resonance in a 3D photonic crystal the incident linearly polarized light excites inside the crystal the TE- and TM-eigen modes which passing through the crystal is influenced by Brags diffraction of electromagnetic field from different (hkl) sets of crystallographic planes. We also measured the faraday effect of opals immersed in a magneto-optically active liquid. It was shown that the behavior of the faraday rotation spectrum of the system of the opal sample and magneto-optically active liquid directly interrelates with transmittance anisotropy of the opal sample. The photonic band structure, transmittance and Faraday rotation of the light in three-dimensional magnetophotonic crystals of simple cubic and face centered cubic lattices formed from magneto-optically active spheres where studied by the layer Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker method. We found that a photonic band structure is most significantly altered by the magneto-optical activity of spheres for the high-symmetry directions where the degeneracies between TE and TM polarized modes for the corresponding non-magnetic photonic crystals exist. The significant enhancement of the Faraday rotation appears for these directions in the proximity of the band edges, because of the slowing down of the light. New approaches for one-dimensional magnetophotonic crystals fabrication optimized for the magneto-optical Faraday effect enhancement are proposed and realized. One-dimensional magnetophotonic crystals utilizing the second and the third photonic band gaps optimized for the Faraday effect enhancement have been successfully fabricated. Additionally, magnetophotonic crystals consist of a stack of ferrimagnetic Bi-substituted yttrium-iron garnet layers alternated with dielectric silicon oxide layers of the same optical thickness. High refractive index difference provides the strong spatial localization of the electromagnetic field with the wavelength corresponding to the long-wavelength edge of the photonic band gap.
Background: Breast cancer is commonly diagnosed at late stages in countries with limited resources. In Morocco, breast cancer is ranked the first female cancer (36.1%) and screening methods could reduce the proportion presenting with a late diagnosis. Morocco is currently adopting a breast cancer screening program based on clinical examination at primary health facilities, diagnosis at secondary level and treatment at tertiary level. So far, there is no systematic information on the performance of the screening program for breast cancer in Morocco. The aim of this study was to analyze early performance indicators. Materials and Methods: A retrospective evaluative study conducted in Temara city. The target population was the entire female population aged between 45-70 years. The study was based on process and performance indicators collected at the individual level from the various health structures in Tamara between 2009 and 2011. Results: A total of 2,350 women participated in the screening program; the participation rate was 35.7%. Of these, 76.8% (1,806) were married and 5.2% (106) of this group had a family history of breast cancer. Of the women who attended screening, 9.3% (190) were found to have an abnormal physical examination findings. A total of 260 (12.7%) were referred for a specialist consultation. The positive predictive value of clinical breast examination versus mammography was 23.0%. Forty four (35.5%) of the lesions found on the mammograms were classified as BI-RADs 3; 4 or 5 category. Cancer was found in 4 (1.95%) of the total number of screened women and benign cases represented 0.58%. Conclusions: These first results of the programme are very encouraging, but there is a need to closely monitor performance and to improve programme procedures with the aim of increasing both the participation rate and the proportion of women eligible to attend screening.

In this paper, we propose a novel Globally Asynchronous, Locally Dynamic System(GALDS) bus and demonstrate its performance. The proposed GALDS bus is the bidirectional multitasking bus with the segmented bus architecture supporting the concurrent operation of multi-masters and multi-slaves. By analyzing system tasks, the bus architecture chooses the optimal frequency for each If among multiples of bus frequency and thus we can reduce the overall power consumption. For efficient data communications between IPs operating in different frequencies, we designed an asynchronous and bidirectional FIFO based on an asynchronous wrapper with hand-shaking interface. In addition, since systems can be easily expandable by inserting bus segments, the proposed architecture has advantages in IP reusability and structural flexibility As a test example, a four-segment bus haying four masters and four slaves were designed by using Verilog HDL. We demonstrate multitasking operations with read/write data transfers by simulation when the ratios of operation frequency are 1:1, 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8. The data transfer mode is a 16 burst increment mode compatible with Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture(AMBA). The maximum operation latency of the proposed GALDS bus is 22 clock cycles for the bus write operation, and 44 clock cycles for read.
Iris recognition uses a unique iris pattern of user to identify person. In order to enhance the performance of iris recognition, it is reported that the diameter of iris region should be greater than 200 pixels in the captured iris image. So, the previous iris system used zoom lens camera, which can increase the size and cost of system. To overcome these problems, we propose a new method of enhancing the accuracy of iris recognition on low-resolution iris images which are captured without a zoom lens. This research is novel in the following two ways compared to previous works. First, this research is the first one to analyze the performance degradation of iris recognition according to the decrease of the image resolution by excluding other factors such as image blurring and the occlusion of eyelid and eyelash. Second, in order to restore a high-resolution iris image from single low-resolution one, we propose a new method based on multiple multi-layered perceptrons (MLPs) which are trained according to the edge direction of iris patterns. From that, the accuracy of iris recognition with the restored images was much enhanced. Experimental results showed that when the iris images down-sampled by 6% compared to the original image were restored into the high resolution ones by using the proposed method, the EER of iris recognition was reduced as much as 0.133% (1.485% - 1.352%) in comparison with that by using bi-linear interpolation
In network delivery of compressed video, packets may be lost if the channel is unreliable like Internet. Such losses tend to of cur in burst like continuous bit-stream error. In this paper, we propose an effective error-concealment approach to which an error resilient video encoding approach is applied against burst errors and which reduces a complexity of error concealment at the decoder using data hiding. To improve the performance of error concealment, a temporal and spatial error resilient video encoding approach at encoder is developed to be robust against burst errors. For spatial area of error concealment, block shuffling scheme is introduced to isolate erroneous blocks caused by packet losses. For temporal area of error concealment, we embed parity bits in content data for motion vectors between intra frames or continuous inter frames and recovery loss packet with it at decoder after transmission While error concealment is performed on error blocks of video data at decoder, it is computationally costly to interpolate error video block using neighboring information. So, in this paper, a set of feature are extracted at the encoder and embedded imperceptibly into the original media. If some part of the media data is damaged during transmission, the embedded features can be extracted and used for recovery of lost data with bi-direction interpolation. The use of data hiding leads to reduced complexity at the decoder. Experimental results suggest that our approach can achieve a reasonable quality for packet loss up to 30% over a wide range of video materials.
In this study, the mass flow rate of the heat release rate equation, which is the major factor of the oxygen consumption method, was analyzed for the fundamental investigation of the cone-calorimeter (5 m length and 0.3 m diameter). The shapes of a completely empty inside, 3 mm pore diameter mesh and pore diameter 10 mm honeycomb with 0.76 porosity were constructed using the cone-calorimeter. To calculate the mass flow rate, four bi-directional probes and thermocouples were installed in a uniform position in the vertical direction of flow. The velocity gradient and flow perturbation were measured from the increase in Reynolds number. As the flow capacity increased, the speed gradient increased in all three shapes relative to the turbulence intensity. In addition, the deviation of extended uncertainty to the mass flow was completely low in the order of empty space, mesh (dp = 3 mm) and honeycomb (dp = 10 mm and 𝜖 = 0.76) at the 95% confidence level. The results can be used in designs to improve the flow stability of the cone calorimeter.

With a view to developing a database of death years of Korean firs (Abies koreana) at Yeongsil in Mt. Halla and investigating their abrupt inter-annual growth reduction tree-ring analysis was employed. To this end, 10 living trees (YSL) were selected to establish a master chronology and 20 dead trees were used to date their dead years. To investigate the difference in death years by death types, 10 trees, which remained standing (YSSD) out of the 20 dead trees were selected. The rest 10 dead trees were already fallen (YSFD). Two increment cores per tree at breast height were extracted in contour direction using an increment borer. A 106-year master chronology (1911-2016) was successfully established from the 10 YSLs. Through cross-dating between individual YSSD time series and the master chronology, it was verified that 1 YSSD was dead in summer 1978, 1 YSSD between autumn 1999 and spring 2000, 2 YSSDs in summer 2007, 1 YSSD in summer 2010, 1 YSSD in summer 2012, and 1 YSSD in summer 2013. The youngest tree rings of 2 YSSDs having no bark were in 1977 and 2002. For the YSFDs, it was verified that 1 YSFD was dead between autumn 1997 and spring 1998, 1 YSFD between autumn 2001 and spring 2002, 2 YSFDs between autumn 2009 and spring 2010, 1 YSFD in summer 2010, and 2 YSFDs between autumn 2012 and spring 2013, while the youngest tree rings of 2 YSFDs having no bark were in 1989 and 2004. To note, the death years of two trees, one from each death type (YSSD and YSFD), could not be verified due to poor cross-dating with the master chronology. The inter-annual growth reductions of YSSD and YSFD occurred more frequently and intensively than YSL. Typically, the YSFD showed the most frequent and intensive inter-annual growth reduction. On comparing the inter-annual growth reductions with the corresponding records of typhoons however we could not find any reliable relationship. Finally, from prior reports and results of the current study it can be concluded that the death and abrupt growth reduction of korean fir at Yeongsil in Mt. Halla are not caused by only a certain environmental factor but various factors.
