  • As a subset study for the collection of Korean indigenous prokaryotic species, 62 bacterial strains belonging to the phylum Actinobacteria were isolated from various sources. Each strain showed higher 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity (>98.75%) and formed a robust phylogenetic clade with closest species of the phylum Actinobacteria which were defined with valid names, already. There is no official description on these 62 actinobacterial species in Korea. Consequently, unrecorded 62 species of 25 genera in the 14 families belonging to the order Actinomycetales of the phylum Actinobacteria were found in Korea. Morphological properties, basic biochemical characteristics, isolation source and strain IDs are described in the species descriptions.

  • As a part of a survey of indigenous biological resources of Korea, 30 marine benthic foraminiferal species belonging to 24 genera and seven orders (Astrorhizida, Lagenida, Lituolida, Miliolida, Robertinida, Rotaliida and Textulariida) were identified. Bottom sediment samples were collected from eight stations on the west and east coast of South Korea, in April 2015 and May 2016, respectively. Ten species belonging to nine genera and five orders (Lagenida, Lituolida, Robertinida, Rotaliida, Textulariida) were identified in the Yellow Sea. Among these taxa, Rotaliida was the dominant order, represented by four species: Evolvocassidulina tenuis (Phleger & Parker, 1951), Cibicides mabahethi Said, 1949, Cibicides pseudolabatulus Perelis & Reiss, 1975 and Cibicidoides barnetti Bermudez, 1949. Twenty species belonging to 15 genera and five orders (Astrorhizida, Lagenida, Lituolida, Miliolida, and Rotaliida) were identified from the East Sea and the Lagenida was the dominant order, represented by 11 species: Lagena strumosa Reuss, 1858, Lagena nebulosa (Cushman, 1923), Lagena striata var. semiornata Reuss, 1863, Procerolagena cylindrocostata Albani & Yassini, 1989, Fissurina bispinata $Ujii{\acute{e}}$, 1963, Oolina laevigata d'Orbigny, 1839, Polymorphina amplissima McCulloch, 1977, Polymorphina subelliptica McCulloch, 1977, Guttulina succincta McCulloch, 1977, Guttulina neoproblema McCulloch, 1977 and Lagenosolenia obtecta McCulloch, 1977. The findings described here increased the number of foraminiferal species in Korea to approximately 1060, and contribute to our understanding of the diversity of foraminifera in Korean waters.

  • The composition of phytoplankton and periphyton community in Togyo reservoir was investigated. A total of phytoplankton was composed of 150 taxa, belonging to 6 phyla, 8 classes, 15 orders, 5 suborders, 31 families, 71 genera, 106 species, 14 varieties, 1 form and 29 unidentified species. The observed number of diatoms and green algae were much higher than others. Within diatoms the pennate diatoms appeared more than centric diatoms and solitary forms or colonial forms appeared more than filamentous forms in green algae. A total of epipelic algae was composed of 125 taxa, belonging to 3 phyla, 3 classes, 6 orders, 3 suborders, 13 families, 30 genera, 87 species, 29 varieties, 2 forms and 7 unidentified species. The diatoms appeared much more than others. Among those, the pennate diatoms dominated the centric diatoms in species number observed. A total of epilithic algae was composed of 114 taxa, belonging to 4 phyla, 4 classes, 11 orders, 3 suborders, 22 families, 38 genera, 79 species, 8 varieties, 1 form and 26 unidentified species. The observed number of diatoms and green algae were much higher than others. Within diatoms the pennate diatoms dominated the centric diatoms in species number observed. The dominance of pennate diatoms of the diatom community in the epipelic algal community and the epilithic algal community could be assumed that was due to the presence of raphe structure of pennate diatoms.

  • Objectives: To identify the factors influencing the turnover intention of registered South Korean dental hygienists and analyze the effect sizes. Methods: Overall, 54 studies based on criteria of PICO from 1 January 2000 to 11 January 2022 were extracted. The factors related to turnover intention were applied to the ecological system theory and categorized. Subsequently, the effect size of the correlations was comprehensively meta-analyzed by dividing it into protective and risk factors depending on the negative or positive correlation direction. Results: For the overall effect size, the protective factor (ESr=-0.458) was higher than the risk factor (ESr=0.352). In the protective factors, organizational commitment and perceived organizational support belonging to the microsystem yielded the largest effect size. Furthermore, as for risk factors, burnout, job stress, work harassment, role conflict, and emotional labor belonging to the microsystem showed a moderate effect size. Conclusions: Factors belonging to the microsystem demonstrated a large effect size in both protection and risk factors for dental hygienists' turnover intention. Additionally, the factor showing the largest effect size was protective factor categorized into a microsystem.
