원자력 발전소용 벨로우즈 글로브 밸브에 대한 구조 건전성 평가 (The Evaluation of the Structural Integrity of Bellows Globe Valve for Nuclear Power)

  • 본 논문은 내진등급 IIA 글로브 밸브의 지진하중에 대한 구조 건전성을 평가하였다. 밸브 구조물을 3차원 모델링하여 유한요소법을 사용하여 모달 해석 및 등가 정적 응력해석을 수행하였다. 모달 해석 결과 구조물은 충분히 강건하므로 지진 가속도 값을 사용한 등가 정적 응력해석이 가능하였다. 정적 응력 해석에서 구한 응력을 조합하여 원자력 규격집에 근거한 허용기준에 따라 밸브의 구조 건전성을 평가하였다. 지진하중에서 발생한 응력값이 허용값 아래에 분포하므로 글로브 밸브 구조물은 구조적 건전성을 유지할 수 있다고 평가할 수 있다.

  • A bumper comprises a bumper face, a bumper beam for distributing the load from the impacts applied to the bumper face and reinforcing the bumper, an absorber member interposed between the bumper face and the bumper beam, and a pair of bumper stays which secure the bumper beam to the vehicle body. A conventional bumper stay structure is assembled into several stamped parts, so several processes are needed and the structure is complicated. In this study the bumper stay is applied to the tubular hydroforming which is known to have several advantages such as the reduction of the number of the process and the part weight. The thickness distribution of the tube is mainly considered to evaluate the hydro-formability and the shape of the tube is determined.

Effect of geometry on shrinkage of cryostats for HTS cables

  • One of the main problems faced in developing India's first HTS power cable was that of shrinkage in length of the double-walled vacuum-insulated cryostat. The shrinkage was due to the evacuation of the annular vacuum space which results in a shorter working cable length. This work reports experimentally observed contraction during evacuation and analyses corrugated pipes/bellows which house the cable core of HTS cables. The effect of corrugation geometry including length, corrugation pitch and depth, diameters of corrugated pipes and thicknesses of pipes is studied numerically to realize the degree of shrinkage due to vacuum as well as chill down. Finally, necessary length compensation and associated cost is determined to tackle the shrinkage issue.

  • 최근 발생한 경주 및 포항 지진으로 인해 다수의 매립배관 손상이 보고되었다. 벨로우즈 신축관이음은 기하학적 특성으로 인해 진동 및 침하 등으로 인한 손상을 저감시킬 수 있다. 벨로우즈 신축관이음관의 내진 성능평가에 대한 실험적 혹은 해석적 연구는 미미한 상황이다. 본 연구는 벨로우즈 신축이음관의 내진성능을 분석하기 위해 반복하중 기반의 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 또한 실험결과를 기반으로 3차원 유한요소 모델을 구축하였으며 실험과 해석에서 얻어진 하중-변위 관계를 비교하였다. 해석 모델에서 전체적인 강성이 큰 것으로 나타났으며 최대 변위가 작용할 때 에너지 소산량은 약 10% 가량 큰 것으로 나타났다.

구조전달소음 최소화를 위한 함정탑재장비의 베이스 설계 (Design of the Base for the Onboard Installed Equipment to Minimize Structure-borne Noise)

  • In order to reduce the structure borne noise of the equipment sufficiently, its exciting force should be restricted and additional anti-vibration devices such as resilient mount and bellows should be applied. Since the structure borne noise is dependent on the design of the base for the equipment, it is very important to design the base with low vibration. Therefore, in this research, various types of the base design for the shipboard equipment are investigated to reduce the structure borne noise. In order to design the base with low vibration, the exciting force at the center of the gravity of the equipment is firstly defined through the experiment. Using the exciting force identified by experiments, various types of base designs for the typical turbo machine are evaluated by FEM(finite element method) analysis.

  • 본 논문은 원자력 내진등급 IIA 글로브 밸브의 지진하중에 대한 구조 건전성을 평가하였다. 밸브 구조물을 3차원 모델링하여 유한요소법을 사용하여 모달 해석 및 등가 정적 응력해석을 수행하였다. 모달 해석 결과 밸브 구조물은 충분히 강건하여 등가 정적해석이 가능하였고 해석에서 구한 응력들을 조합하여 원자력 규격집에서 제시한 허용응력과 비교하여 밸브의 구조 건전성을 판단하였다. 모든 지진하중에 대한 밸의 구조물에서의 응력은 허용값 보다 작게 분포하므로 구조적 건전성을 유지한다고 평가할 수 있다.

신축조인트의 최적화형상에 대한 연구 (Study on Optimum Shape of Expansion Joint)

  • Expansion joint has been utilized in many areas including automotive bellows for exhaust system. Usage of expansion joint has been increased due to its inherent flexibility and excellent anti-vibration property. Simple shape of expansion joint is modeled to understand the behavior of joint system. 27 design cases using 3 design factors with 3 levels are constructed by design of experiment. Each case is simulated to find the most influential design factors. Response for this study, maximum stress in the expansion joint, has been used to determine main design factors of joint. Among the 3 design factors, factor B has affected greatly a response in the formation of optimum shape of joint. Also, interaction factor, $A{\times}B$, has also showed its influence to the response of joint. This study showed that design of experiment combined with finite element analysis could be used in the design decision process effectively in the design of expansion joint.

  • Joints and terminations for 345kV Oil Filled $1C{\times}2000mm^2$ cable have been developed and tested including BPT (Bellows Pressure Tank) on the bases of various ultra-high voltage technologies. Electrical design was performed by using Finite Element Method. The type test certified by KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) has been performed as the final stage of development. In order to confirm the reliability of long-term life for 30 years, load cycle test was conducted for 30 days with good result. As the result, the techniques we obtained from this development are applicable to higher voltage level systems (i.e. 765 kV).
