제주도 천주교 공소 건축에 관한 연구 (A study on the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church in Jeju)

  • The main purpose of this study is to understand the existing and the architectural characteristics of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church in Jeju. The method of this study is to research all the literature and to visit. The time of establishment of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church in Jeju was mostly 1950's, and that time was the heyday of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church that was built in Korean. Catholicism was spread throughout Jeju during this time, and in the process, the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church was built. The Secondary Stations of Catholic Church in Jeju are sited mostly in coastal villages, and especially Catholicism was actively spread throughout the west of Jeju and the a large number Secondary Stations of Catholic Church were built in the west of Jeju. The Secondary Stations of Catholic Church were built between the mid-1950's to the mid-1960's. The plan type is kept as plan shaped of straight shape. When made an enlargement of the interior space and altered, framework of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church was generally maintained. The head of the side window and the front door have the same design characteristics. When the belfry is located, it is attached to an outer wall of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church, or is located to the left or the right the front of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church. The design of belfry found expression in various forms. The buttress are not located in the others but in Young-su Gong-So, and it has not the structural functions but the design functions.

The Construction of Initial Analytical Models Structural Health Monitoring of a Masonry Structure

  • It is important to accurately predict structural responses to external excitations such as typhoons and earthquakes when designing structures for serviceability. One of the key procedures to predict reliable vibration responses is to evaluate accurate structural dynamic properties using finite element (FE) models, which properly represent the realistic behavior of buildings. In the case of historic masonry buildings, structural damage could also be caused by ambient vibrations or impacts. Therefore, the preservation plans of historic buildings for low-level vibrations or impacts should be provided by analyzing structural damages within serviceability levels. For this purpose, it is required to provide FE model construction and response analysis methods verified with field measurement data. In this research, long-term field measurement was performed for a cathedral and its dynamic properties were evaluated using measured data. Then, the model was calibrated based on the measured dynamic properties and an overall construction method for the masonry cathedral was proposed. Using the measured accelerations, the vibrations of the belfry were analyzed using the calibrated FE model and finally, the FE model for the cathedral was verified by comparing the measured accelerations with the modeled results.

성덕대왕신종을 위한 가변형 명동의 설계 (Design of a Variable Resonator for the Sacred Bell of the Great King Seongdeok)

  • 본 연구는 성덕대왕신종의 공명효과를 극대화시키기 위하여 계절에 따른 기온의 차이를 보정할 수 있는 가변형 명동의 설계 모델을 제시한다. 성덕대왕신종의 종소리에서는 64 Hz의 1차 고유진동수와 168 Hz의 2차 고유진동수가 가장 중요한 성분이다. 두 주파수 성분을 대상으로 종체 공동, 간극, 명동으로 구성된 내부 음향공동계의 공명조건을 구한다. 이를 위하여 SYSNOISE를 이용한 경계요소해석을 통하여 내부공동의 음향 주파수응답 특성을 구한다. 외적요소로, 계절에 따른 기온 차이는 공명 조건에 크게 영향을 미친다. 그 결과 공명효과를 극대화시키는 명동의 길이는 계절에 따라 달라져야 한다. 이를 고려하여 본 연구에서는 기온 변화에 맞추어 명동의 길이를 종의 설치 현장에서 쉽게 조절할 수 있는 가변형 명동의 설계 모델을 제시한다.
