The bed change model of HEC-RAS was used to predict the formation of a delta upon an influx of high-density sediment while taking the particle-size distributions of the suspended sediment and bed materials into account. The model was able to reasonably predict both the spatial-temporal distribution of the delta and the amount of deposited sediment according to the grain size. In addition, it was able to estimate the main type of grains that sediment at particular locations at particular times moderately well. It is expected that the simulation and the analysis considering these particle-size distributions of sediment will provide important information on planning and maintenance of the water resource related facilities.
In this study, unstable CaO was converted into a stable Ca compound by using carbonation in a circulating fluidized bed boiler of fly ash to confirm material usability as cement admixture; also undertaken was carbonation test and mortar to examine chemical and physical change by measuring absorption rate and compressive strength. To investigate the chemical properties of circulating fluidized bed boiler fly ash, XRD and TG-DTA were used to determine how the properties of the reaction product change quantitatively during carbonation. In order to stabilize CaO, carbonation of CaO is considered to be the most desirable process. This is because $CaCO_3$, which is a Ca compound, was produced by carbonate reaction of unstable CaO, and decrease of the absorption rate and improvement of the compressive strength were observed when the carbonated fly ash was replaced with cement.

In this study, semi-two dimension numerical model(GSTARS 2.1 model) were applied to study on the hydraulic and sedimentologic characteristics of downstream channel section in Dal stream. GSTARS 2.1 model was applied for the four selected sediment transport formulas(Meyer-Peter and Muller, Acker and White's, Engelund and Hanson, Yang formula) from 1984 to 1992 measured data on each section. The simulation results of Meyer-Peter and Muller formula for long-term bed changes are good when compared to the measured data. When quantitatively compared, it appears that the results data is relatively underestimated compared to the 1992 measured data on each section. Using Meyer-Peter and Muller formula, analyse the effects of bed changes by stream tube number.
Because price of fossil fuel rises, necessity about alternative energy was risen. Studied co-combustion of RPF to coal fluid bed boiler by necessity of these althernative energy. Purpose of this study to coal fluid bed bioler RPF when did co-combustion, change operating condition and characteristic of air pollutant examine according to change of fuel characteristic, operating condition examined about combustion chamber temperature, oxygen content etc. and air pollutant examined about material that is included to allowable exhaust standard and dioxin. Co-combustion condition was 5%. It was no peculiar under test result operating condition. Concentration of Co and HCl rose according as do RPF co-combustion and the other pollutants had hardly changed. Dioxin is low concentration level more than $0.1ng-TEQ/Sm^3$. There was no pollutant that exceed akllowable exhaust standard for boiler but $SO_x,\;NO_x$ were exceeded about allowable exhaust standard for incinerating facility.

The sediment transport process in a river reflects the process of geomorphological change in the watershed, influencesthe river bed variation and the river channel migration, and is a parametric phenomenon that exhibits a dynamic self-adjusting process. Sediment load is divided into bedload and suspended load depending on the dominant mechanism. Quantitative sediment load is important information for solving river problems. Because it is difficult and time consuming to measure bedload, compared to that ofsuspended load, data on the sediment transport load and the research required for the gravel-bed rivers are insufficient. This study is to analyze the ratio of the bedload to the total sediment load in gravel-bed rivers. The sediment load ratio in gravel-bed rivers increases with the flow rate per unit width, and the rate of the bedload varies more rapidly than the suspended load. The sediment transport efficiency coefficient has been affected by the ratio of the flow depth to the mean diameter of particles and has been dependent on the shear velocity Reynolds number. So $A^{\ast}$ and $B^{\ast}$ are introduced to compensate for the uncertainties such as bed materials, sediment transport, and flow velocity distribution, and the coefficient of bedload ratio has been presented. For the sediment load data in experimental channels and rivers, A* was 3.1. The dominant variables of $B^{\ast}$ were $u_*d_m/{\nu}$ in the gravel-bed and h/dm in the sand-bed. When $B^{\ast}$ the is the same, in the experimental channels the coefficient of bedload ratio was affected by the bed forms, but in the rivers it was of little difference between the gravel-bed and sand-bed.

In this study, flow characteristics and bed changes during a short term flood event were analyzed using the two-dimensional CCHE2D model for a meandering sand-bed river, the Naesung Stream. Flow and bed change simulation was carried along the three sub-reaches with sinuosity of 1.2, 1.6 and 2.2 for the 6-day flood event occurring in June 2011. The simulation results indicated that velocity variation due to flow concentration was larger along the sub-reach with the sinuosity less than 1.5 and bed erosion at the outside of the bend was increased by time. In the sub-reach with the sinuosity less than 1.5, the maximum flood discharge produced the maximum flow velocity over 1.6 m/s to 2 m/s locally.
The advantage of CFBC(Circulating fluidized bed combustor) is that it can apply to various fuel sources including the lower rank fuel and remove SOx by means of direct supply of limestone to the combustor without additional desulfation facility. In this paper, we denote characteristics of fly and bed ash to reuse finer limestone usually abandoned(used spec[Coarse LS] 0.1mm under 25%, new spec[Fine LS] 0.1mm under 50%). According to the results, the chemical composition of fly ash was as follows; $SiO_2\;40.8%,\;Al_2O_3\;31.9%,\;CaO\;10.7%,\;K_2O\;4.46%$ in the case of coarse limestone and $SiO_2\;41.1%,\;Al_2O_3\;31.3%,\;CaO\;10.9%,\;K_2O\;4.66%$ in the case of fine limestone. The chemical composition of bed ash was as follows; $SiO_2\;54.2%,\;Al_2O_3\;33.1%,\;CaO\;1.56%,\;K_2O\;4.34%$ in the case of coarse limestone and $SiO_2\;53.8%,\;Al_2O_3\;32.6%,\;CaO\;2.21%,\;K_2O\;4.45%$ in the case of fine limestone. It showed that there was no significant change in chemical composition. And it is conformed that there was no significant change in particle size and shapes.

Carbon Capture and Storage technologies are recognized as key solution to meet greenhouse gas emission standards to avoid climate change. Although MEA (monoethanolamine) is an effective amine solvent in $CO_2$ capture process, the application is limited by high energy consumption, i.e., reduction of 10% of efficiency of coal-fired power plants. Therefore the development of new solvent and improvement of $CO_2$ capture process are positively necessary. In this study, improvement of $CO_2$ capture process was investigated and applied to Test Bed for reducing energy consumption. Previously reported technologies were examined and prospective methods were determined by simulation. Among the prospective methods, four applicable methods were selected for applying to 0.1 MW Test Bed, such as change of packing material in absorption column, installing the Intercooling System to absorption column, installing Rich Amine Heater and remodeling of Amines Heat Exchanger. After the improvement construction of 0.1 MW Test Bed, the effects of each suggested method were evaluated by experimental results.
Recently, protein-fortified milk powders are being widely consumed in Korea to prevent sarcopenia, and the demand for high-protein food powders is continuously increasing in the Korean market. However, spray-dried milk proteins have poor flowability and wettability owing to their fine particle sizes and high inter-particle cohesive forces. Fluidized bed agglomeration is widely used to improve the instant properties of food powders. This study investigated the effect of fluidized bed agglomeration on whey protein isolate (WPI)-fortified skim milk powder (SMP) at different SMP/WPI ratios. The fluidized bed process increased the particle size distribution, and agglomerated particles with grape-like structures were observed in the SEM images. As the size increased, the Carr index (CI) and Hausner ratio (HR) values of the agglomerated WPI-fortified SMP particles exhibited excellent flowability (CI: <15) and low cohesiveness (HR: <1.2). In addition, agglomerated WPI-fortified SMP particles exhibited the faster wetting time than the instant criterion (<20 s). As a result, the rheological and physical properties of the WPI-fortified SMP particles were effectively improved by fluidized bed agglomeration. However, the fluidized bed agglomeration process led to a slight change in the color properties. The CIE L* decreased, and the CIE b* increased because of the Maillard reaction. The apparent viscosity (ηa,10) and consistency index (K) values of the rehydrated solutions (60 g/180 mL water) increased with the increasing WPI ratio. These results may be useful for formulating protein-fortified milk powder with better instant properties.
A model study was conducted for the investigation of apparent resistivity variation along with electric resistivity variation of host rock and dip variation of bed. Experiments were carried out for the cases of horizontal and dipping beds in a water tank by using Wenner and Schlumberger arrays and by changing salinity of water. The ratios of resistivity values of the bed to that of brine were 1 : 10, 1 : 50, 1 : 100 and 1 : 500. Natural coally-shale of $55cm{\times}35cm{\times}3.5cm$ was used as a bed for experimental model, and brine as a host rock. Equi-resistivity curves and characteristic curves were obtained for each case of the experiment. The equi-resistivity curve was drawn both on the cross section parallel to strike of bed and longitudinal section perpendicular to it. The characteristic curve was drawn on the cross section. In the case of dipping bed of different dips, the curves are parallel to the boundary of the bed in the upper part of the bed, and are inclined to the opposite direction with the same angle of the dip of bed in the lower part. We can deduce, from the equi-resistivity curves, the location, shape and dip of the bed. It is shown in the characteristic curves that when the ratio of resistivity value of bed to that of host rock increases, the slope of curves becomes steeper, location of low-resistivity zone lower, and the width of it narrower. The slope of curves also becomes steeper when dip of bed increases. We can deduce, from the characteristic curves, the ratio of resistivity values between adjacent beds. It was found out from the experiments that electric resistivity method could be applicable to prospecting for underground geology with an electric resistivity contrast of 1 : 10. This fact strongly suggests that distinction of coal from coally-shale could be possible in a certain field condition.
