In a base on the MDGPS base station which has been operated since 1999; our country has completed the construction of six Land Base Stations to use of NDGPS in land from starting Mu-Ju base station in 2002 to Chun Cheon base station which is going to be operated on July 2009. Accordingly, with the exception of the Chun-Cheon base station because it is being built now, we will consider a better direction of improvement in service for land base station after surveying and analyzing on the signal characteristic of land base station.
An effective paging strategy is essential for improving the utility of radio channels. This paper proposes a two-step paging strategy which involves using base station paging agents to page a single cell at each paging. An analytical model is used to evaluate the performance of the proposed strategy. The proposed strategy is compared with the traditional simultaneous paging strategy and a recent proposal using the base station paging agents. The numerical results showed that the proposed strategy proficiently reduces paging cost on radio channels compared with other paging strategies.
In fingerprint-based wireless positioning, it is necessary to establish a DB of the unmeasured area. To this end, a method of estimating the position of a base station based on a signal propagation model, and a method of estimating the information of the received signal in the unmeasured area based on the estimated position of the base station have been investigating. The purpose of this paper is to estimate the position of the base station using the measured information and to analyze the performance of the positioning. Vehicles equipped with a GPS receiver and signal measuring equipment travel the service area and acquire location-based Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) measurements. We propose a method of estimating the position of the base station using the measured information. And the performance of the proposed method is analyzed on a simulation basis. The simulation results confirm that the accuracy of the positioning is affected by the measured area and the Dilution of Precision (DOP), the accuracy of the position information obtained by the GPS receiver, and the errors of the signal included in the RSRP. Based on the results of this paper, we can expect that the position of the base station can be estimated and the DB of the unmeasured area can be constructed based on the estimated position of the base stations and the signal propagation model.
In a packet-switched wireless cellular network, a packet destined to a mobile station is queued at a base station and then broadcast over the base station's cell. When an active mobile station leaves a cell, there re-main packets which are destined to the mobile and not yet delivered to it at the cell's base station. For application which are sensitive to packet losses, such back- logged packets must be forwarded to the new base station. Otherwise, an end-to-end retransmission may be required. However, an increase in packet delay is incurred by employing the packet forward scheme, since a packet may be forwarded many times before it is delivered to the destined mobile station. For an enhanced quality-of-service level, it is preferred to reduce tile packet delay time. In this paper, we develop an analytical approximation method for deriving mean packet delay times. Using the approximation and simulation methods, we investigate the effect of network parameters on the packet delay time.

In this paper, we have proposed the pattern adjustable base station antenna for WCDMA applications. The proposed antenna consists of an omni-antenna(sleeve monopole) and two movable reflectors. The two reflectors can be controlled by mechanically and used to adjust the horizontal pattern of the base station antenna. The antenna was designed, fabricated, and measured. The antenna covers the entire WCDMA band for VSWR<1.4. The measured antenna gain is more than 15 dBi over the operating frequency range. By changing the angle (a) and the distance (d) of the antenna, the pattern adjustment of the proposed base station antenna is found to be possible.
In this paper, we propose a strategy to distribute the energy consumption over the network. The proposed strategy is based on geographic routing. We use a smart base station that maintains the residual energy and location information of sensor nodes and selects a head node and an anchor node using this information. A head node gathers and aggregates data from the sensor nodes in a target region that interests the user. An anchor node then transmits the data that was forwarded from the head node back to the smart base station. The smart base station extends network lifetime by selecting an optimal head node and an optimal anchor node. We simulate the proposed protocol and compare it with the LEACH protocol in terms of energy consumption, the number of dead nodes, and a distribution map of dead node locations.

IEEE802.15.4 that is a standard for sensor networks is mainly used the wireless personal area networks such as ZigBee networks and it features low-power, low-speed data communication. However, recently research for interworking sensor network based voice communication and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for long-range, multi-user support has been actively conducted. In this paper, we designed a integrated base station based existing systems for interworking sensor networks based voice communication and SIP. We measured number of packet and delay according to increase the number of users to evaluate the performance of designed Base Station.

The base station (BS) of CDMA mobile system (CMS) provides mobile call services by controlling call processing functions. The call Processing part of the BS is divided into two components; the base station transceiver subsystem (BTS) and the base station controller (BSC). In this paper, we present the call capacity estimation of the BS about control signals and traffic data of calls by the simulation, and find the bottleneck points and problems which may occur in the BS. In order to estimate the call capacity, first we extract the major parameters for the modeling the BS. Second, we suggest the simulation model for the BS. Third, we estimate the simulation results by finding major objective factors such that the call blocking probability, the utilization ratio and the delay time in the traffic channel elements (TCEs), the BTS interconnection network (BIN)-COMA interconnection network (CIN) trunks, the transcoding channels and the CIN packet router.

In this paper, we present the analysis of the characteristics of advanced mobile communication base station with multi-band about power loss, power efficiency and carbon reduction considering cable power loss. The advanced mobile base station system is installed on the outdoor for Antenna and RF part, and then the power loss is reduced because the fiber optic cable is used between RF part and baseband part. If the cable power loss is reduced by 5 dB replacing an entire the advanced base station systems, annual power consumption is reduced total 49,038 MWh in the CDMA 20W, WCDMA 30W, WiBro 10W systems. Furthermore the advanced base station system of annual $CO_2$ emission is 20,832 $tCO_2$ compare to 65,878 $tCO_2$. Therefore the advanced base system is confirmed considering green IT technology for the advanced mobile communication base station.

Recently, it is a pretty well known way to compute GPS/INS using Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) and Network-based RTK for obtaining Exterior Orientation (EO) parameters of aerial photogrammetry. In this study, it is way to compute Exterior Orientation (EO) parameters using ground base stations, using Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) broadcast orbits and International GNSS Service (IGS) rapid orbits. And the residuals of Exterior Orientation (EO) parameters were computed based on the results of ground base station. As a result, the case of using SmartBase to obtain Exterior Orientation (EO) parameters was showed the high accuracy of X, Y, K more than using Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) of National Geographic Information Institute (NGII). Also, distance and direction of Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) of National Geographic Information Institute (NGII) from ground base station affected Exterior Orientation (EO) parameters. And different forms of residuals were shown according to the aerial photo courses.
