  • This paper describes the systematic control method of process information transfer and machine cell control in FMS implementation. We have constructed an experimental FMS computer network and control system. The system hardware consists of host computer to manage process data and information transfer of machine cells, cell control computers to control machine cells(NC lathe, machining center). On the other hand, software is made up of oredr management module, NC program searching and generation module, NC part program error check module and cell control module. In this study, we could arrive at conclusion as following : The first, each task could be accomplihed by the efficient information transfer in hierachical computer network. The second, data base system of part programs and process control data is needed for the efficint information transfer and production management. Lastly, expansion of FMS control system could be achieved by the hierachical and decentralized computer control system.

  • This paper describes an integrated CAD and CAPP system for prismatic parts of injection mold which generates a complete process plan automatically from CAD data of a part without human intervention. This system employs Auto CAD as a CAD model and GS-CAPP as an automatic process planning system for injection mold. The proposed CAD/CAPP system consists of three modules such as CAD data conversion module, manufacturing feature recognition module, and CAD/CAPP interface module. CAD data conversion module transforms design data of AutoCAD into three dimensional part data. Manufacturing feature recognition module extracts specific manufacturing features of a part using feature recognition rule base. Each feature can be recognized by combining geometry, position and size of the feature. CAD/CAPP interface module links manufacturing feature codes and other head data to automatic process planning system. The CAD/CAPP system can improve the efficiency of process planning activities and reduce the time required for process planning. This system can provide a basis for the development of part feature based design by analyzing manufacturing features.

  • In this paper we propose a framework of an open architectured manufacturing system base on CORBA middleware. The manufacturing system consists of four configurable software modules 9mchine control module, database module, monitoring module, and operation module). Each module is distributed through the network and integrated with CORBA middleware technology. CORBA Characteristics including independence from programming languages, computing platforms and networking protocols makes us to easily develop new applications and to effectively integrate new module into existing distributed systems. The CORBA program used in this study is The ACE ORB (TAO) developed by the laboratory in Washington University.

  • In this paper, a power amplifier module for WCDMA base-station applications is designed and implemented using GaN field-effect transistors (FETs), which uses an envelope tracking bias system. The designed module consists of an high gain MMIC amplifier, a driver amplifier, a power amplifier, and bias circuits for envelope tracking applications. Especially, a FET bias sequencing circuit and two isolators are integrated for stable RF operations. All circuits are assembled within a single housing, so its dimension is just $17.8{\times}9.8{\times}2.0\;cm3$. Measured results show that the developed power amplifier module has good envelope tracking capability: the power-added efficiency of 35% at the output power range from 30dBm to 40dBm over a wide range of drain bias.

  • The vehicle driving simulator expects vehicle motion with real-time simulation arise from driver's steering, accelerating, stopping and simulates motion of vehicl with visula, audio and washout algorithm. And it gives a vivid feeling to driver in reality. Vehicle driving simulator with vehicle integration control system is used for analysis of analysis of vehicle controllaility, steering capacity and safety in various pseudo environment alike. basides, it analyzeds vehicle safety factor dirver's reaction and promotes traffic safety without driver's own risks. The main proceduress of development of the vehicle driving simulator are classified by 3 parts. first the motion base system which can be generated by the motion queues, should be developed. Secondly, real-time vehicle software which can afford the vehicle dynamics, might be constructed. The third procedure is the integration of vehicle driing simulator which can be interconnected between visual systems with motion base. In this study, we are to study of the motion base for a vehicle driving simulator design and that of its real time control and using an extra gyro sensor and accelerometers to find a position and an orientatiion of the moving platform except for calculating forward kinematics. To drive the motion base, we use National Instruments corp's Labview software. Furthemore, we use analysis module for the vehicle motionand the washout algorithm module to consummate driving simulator, which can be driven by human in reality, so we are doing experimentally process about various vehicle motion conditon.

  • A Remote Monitoring Server(RMS) server which uses Internet and World Wide Web is constructed for SMD in-line system. Hardware base consists of server computer, virtual SMD in-line system and other computers. Software includes assignment of server, RDBMS and various modules in server home page. Web browser provide production quantity, bad PCB quantity, error number and error message in virtual SMD module, user information in setup module, detailed error information in fault diagnosis module, fault history in fault history module and customer information in customer service management module. These functions of the RMS helps a decrease of non-operation time and a service response as fast as possible.

  • The enterprise find a solution to the problems such as a reduction of manufacturing period, accurate analysis for customer demand, improvement for customer service and rise of manufacture accomplishment. Internet is a good solution to such problems. Internet offers WWW(World Wide Web), remote control, file transfer and e-mail service. Among the services, WWW takes large portion because of convenient GUI, easy information search and unlimited information registration. Remote Monitoring Server(RMS) system that uses network service is constructed for chip mounter. Hardware base consists of RMS, chip mounter and C/S(Customer Service) server. Software includes DBMS and various modules in server home page. This provide product number, bad product number, trouble code, content and countermeasure in real-time information module, user information in setup module, detailed error information in fault diagnosis module, fault history in fault history module and customer information in customer service management module.

  • iBASE/Cluster-MiDAS 는 기 개발된 바다-IV를 공유 디스크 기반 클러스터 환경에서 동작하도록 확장한 iBASE/Cluster의 하부 구조로써 다중 사용자용 자료 저장시스템이다. iBASE/Cluster-MiDAS에서는 하나의 노드에서 동시에 수행되는 여러 트랜잭션들 사이에의 영향뿐 아니라 여러 노드에서 동시에 수행되는 여러 트랜잭션들 사이의 영향으로부터 데이터의 일과성을 유지해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 여러 노드에서 동시에 수행되는 여러 트랜잭션들 간의 동시성 제어를 위해 바다-IV/MiDAS 의 잠금 관리 모듈을 확장한 iBASE/Cluster-MiDAS 잠금 관리 모듈의 내부 구조와 구현시 사용된 기법을 설명한다. iBASE/Cluster-MiDAS 의 잠금 관리 모듈은 잠금 캐싱을 사용하는 중앙 집중 잠금 관리 기법에 기반하고 있으며, 잠금 관리 모듈 수준에서 오류에 유연하게 대처한다.

Development of Integrated Design System for Space Frame Structures (스페이스프레임 구조물의 통합설계시스템 개발)

  • This paper describes three modules for development of the Space Frame Integrated Design System(SFIDS). The Control Module is implemented to control the developed system. The Model Generation Module based on PATRAN user interface enables users to generate a complicated finite element model for space frame structures. The Optimum Design Module base on a branch of combinatorial optimization techniques which can realize the optimization of a structure having a large number of members designs optimum members of a space frame after evaluating analysis results. The Control Module and the Model Generation Module Is implemented by PATRAN Command Language(PCL) while C++ language is used in the Optimum Design Module. The core of the system is PATRAN database, in which the Model Generation Module creates information of a finite element model. Then, PATRAN creates Input files needed for the analysis program from the information of the finite element model in the database, and in turn, imports output results of analysis program to the database. Finally, the Optimum Design Module processes member grouping of a space frame based on the output results, and performs optimal member selection of a space frame. This process is repeated until the desired optimum structural members are obtained.

An Educational Program for Reduction of Transmission Network (송전망 축약을 위한 교육용 프로그램 개발)

  • This paper presents a window-based software package for the education and training for the reduction of power system by using locational marginal price (LMP), clustering, and similarity indices of each bus. The developed package consists of three modules: 1) the LMP module, 2) the Clustering module and 3) the Reduction module. Each module has a separated and interactive interface window. First of all, LMPs are created in the LMP module, and then the Clustering module carries out clustering based on the results of the LMP module. Finally, groups created in this Clustering module are reduced by using the similarity indices of each bus. The developed package displays a variety of tables for results of the LMPs of base network, voltages, phases and power flow of reduced network so that the user can easily understand the reduction of network. To demonstrate the performance of the developed package, it is tested for the IEEE 39-bus power system.
