무장애 건축 환경을 위한 계단의 설계특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristic of Staircase for Barrier-Free Architectural Environment)

  • Safety, accessibility and distinguishment as the concept of architectural planning and design are demanded in staircases due to increase of the old aged people and disabled people's enlarged social participation. In this research is tried to provide the importance of vertical walking function at the design for the staircases. For this reason, structural elements of the staircases are studied in the ergonomic aspect for barrier-free environment and a comparative study is made on the regulations of the staircases in the inside and outside of the country in disabled & aged people's view. Based on this study, the quality of the staircases in public facilities and Apartments is analyzed. As the result, it has been proved that the vertical walking function of the staircases is the most fundamental characteristic of the staircases design before everything else.

  • The mobility and accessibility enhancement is gradually becoming a global interest due to the growth in the aging population and concerns about people with disabilities. The main purpose of this study is to know the current situation in barrier-free level in railroad facilities in order to allow the mobility handicapped to travel in a safe and convenient manner. The research has started with investigating current situation for the mobility handicapped people and explores the needs of barrier-free facilities. 84 domestic railroad facilities were evaluated based on assessment tool developed from the mobility handicapped act. As a result, the fact that the mobility handicapped experienced limited accessibility due to various types of obstacles in the facilities was discovered. Based on the evaluation, obstacles in the facilities were analyzed and categorized by specific dimensions, users' accessibility, mobility, usability, and clarity (way-finding). This study suggests barrier-free design for passenger facilities focused on train station. Because mobility and accessibility are emphasized in current society, improvement of the mobility handicapped' movement should be considered. Barrier-free design for passenger facilities should be realized throughout comprehending the reasons why these obstacles occur in the facilities not using installation convenience facilities. This study has meaning in finding out the obstacles in each cause of occurrence(accessibility, mobility, usability, and clarity (way-finding)).

  • Purpose: The number of the transportation poor has been steadily increased, and also the social perspective toward the disabled has been changed. Thus, Universal Design has been needed. In particular, the unknown majority of the transportation poor have frequently used the urban railway facilities which should reflect the ideals and principles of Universal Design. However, previous research has not focused on the study on critical factors of Universal Design. Based on this observation, the present study aims to find out Universal Design critical factors of urban railway station. Methods: This study explores the criteria of planning Universal Design in the urban railway station by analyzing and comparing the similar criteria used in both domestic areas and foreign countries. Result: Findings from this study are as follows. First, we found out the critical factors of Universal Design in the urban railway station by comparing and analyzing the similar criteria previously used. Second, this study also suggests the better directions toward the domestic criteria relating to the urban railway system. Third, we found the need of the universal standard as well as individually corresponding strategy. Moreover, we found the need of preparing the critical factors for the physical environments as well as the human service. Implications: The further research on findings of the planning criteria will have been continued on the basis of findings of the present study.

BIM 기반의 인간행동 시뮬레이션이 건축설계교육에 미치는 효과에 관한 연구 -무장애와 안전 및 피난설계의 성능탐구와 평가를 중심으로- (Effectiveness of BIM-based Human Behavior Simulation on Architectural Design Education -Focused on Exploration and Evaluation of Barrier-Free and Fire Evacuation Performances-)

  • While the importance of barrier-free and fire evacuation design is highlighted in architectural design education, systemic analysis, and examination on such performances are still challenging due to methodological lacks. The present study investigates the effectiveness of BIM-based human behavior simulation for architecture major students' analytical examinations to promote barrier-free and fire evacuation performances. To achieve such an aim, quasi-experiments were conducted, which compare 50 students' analysis and examination scores according to the use and non-use of the simulation, and the data were collected via participants' survey and interview. As a result, T-Test and MANOVA analyses indicate that, compared with its non-use counterpart, the use of human behavior simulation better facilitates the students' (1) examination of the physical properties and dimensions for the disabled's accessibility and evacuation, (2) understanding of the bodily capacity and handicap of the disabled, (3) examination on the spatial layouts and locations of exits, (4) understanding on evacuees' urgent behaviors, and (5) responsibility as an architect. Based on previous studies, the reasons of statistical results are interpreted as the explicit observation and analytical measures of multiple numbers of virtual-evacuees and direct-experience from body range of the disabled responding to the populated occupants as what they face in authentic reality.

사회적 약자를 위한 장애물 없는 생활환경 설계 사례 분석: 서울역 복합환승시설을 중심으로 (Case Study of Barrier Free Design for Transportation Vulnerable: Focusing on Transfer Station Complex in Seoul Station)

  • 본 연구는 고령자를 포함한 교통약자를 위한 도시설계 현황을 검토하기 위한 목적으로 대표적인 복합환승시설인 서울역을 대상으로 시설 현황을 분석하였다. 시설 현황 분석은 교통약자를 위한 설계기법인 장애물 없는 생활환경(barrier free) 설계 기준을 바탕으로 이루어졌다. 평가를 위해서는 장애물 없는 생활환경의 시설 설계 지침을 활용해 복합환승역사의 특성에 맞는 평가 리스트를 제안하고 현장 답사 및 이용자 만족도 조사를 실시하였다. 평가 결과 매개시설, 내부시설과 위생시설은 전반적으로 우수하였으며 이용자의 만족도 또한 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 환승시설과 안내시설이 매우 열악하여 교통약자가 매우 큰 불편을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 버스 환승에 있어 보행자와 차량 간의 사고가 발생할 위험이 매우 높았으며 이에 대한 안전 설비가 매우 부족하였다. 따라서 안내시설과 환승시설에 대한 편의시설 확충이 가장 시급하다고 할 수 있다. 아울러 교통약자를 위해 가독성과 시인성이 뛰어난 안내정보 제공을 통해 모든 이용자과 복합환승역사를 이용할 수 있는 여건을 조성함이 매우 중요하다. 이러한 문제점이 보완된다면 서울역은 교통약자의 이용 편의성은 향상될 수 있을 것이며 모든 이용자가 불편없이 이용할 수 있는 환승시설이 될 것이다.

경로당 건축물의 장애물 없는 생활환경 인증실태 분석 (An Analysis on the Status of Barrier Free Design Certifications in Center for Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 노인여가복지시설 중 지역노인들의 자율적으로 친목도모 취미활동 공동작업장 운영 및 각종 정보교환과 기타 여가활동을 할 수 있도록 하는 기초시설인 경로당의 건축계획적 특성 및 장애물 없는 생활환경 인증실태 분석을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 경로당 건축물의 장애물 없는 생활환경 인증실태 및 건축 특성을 분석하였다. 이상의 조사결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있다. 첫째, 경로당은 대부분 1층 규모로 기본적 기능구성을 지니고 입지에 따라 기능구성의 큰 차이는 없으며, 다만 부지 규모 및 형상, 지형 등으로 접근성의 차이가 나타나고 있다. 둘째, 경로당의 장애물 없는 생활환경 인증실태 분석 결과, 위생시설 및 매개시설에서 재시공의 필요성이 많이 있으며, 이는 소규모 건축물 품질관리 부족과 인증에 따른 편의시설 설치기준에 대한 이해부족으로 나타나는 현상으로 보인다. 셋째, 소규모 건축물에 대한 '장애물 없는 생활환경 인증'의 접근성 및 수월성 제고를 위하여, 사업기간 및 예산 등 특성을 고려하여 자체평가서 작성 간략화, 인증심사기간 축소 및 인증수수료 인하 등의 정책적 고려가 필요한 것으로 보인다.

  • This paper try to provide basic and universal concept of the architectural planning for the barrier-free environment. To accomplish this purpose this study has analyzed inductively the architectural requirements for all kinds of people with disabilities. The Analysis showed a safety, an accessibility and a distinguishment as the concept of architectural planning for the people with disabilities. Based on the findings of the study have been researched the general cases done for the barrier-free architectural environment. As the result, it has been proved that the design concept for the disabled person should be regarded as the basic concept of the general architectural planning.

  • Recently, the system that can eliminate discrimination and barrier to disabled, ensure the substantial independence of disabled and help participation in community of disabled is required. Therefore, the purpose of this study is 'construction of the Barrier-free environment' which members of societies included the disabled can live safely in the daily living environment. To achieve this result, this study is shown establishment and complementary direction of the policy related convenient facilities by comparing between domestic and international policy of the convenient facilities. The results of this study are as follows; Firstly, among the conflicting part between related laws and design standards shold be constantly supplemented. Secondly, policy to promote convenient in residential part is needed. Thirdly, composition of the organization that can support professional housing reconstruction is required. Fourthly, from early stage of policy making, not only opinion reflection of users but also maintenance of convenient facilities, continuous maintenance plan and making a policy for verification system is needed. Finally, when the revision of the existing policies or new policies undergo, 'Barrier-free perspective' should be considered.

  • 저출산과 고령화에 따른 교통약자의 증가에 따라 베리어프리 환경에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 고령화 현상은 세계적인 추세로 변화하는 사회여건을 고려하고 발전하는 유비쿼터스 기술을 이용한 교통안전시설과 이동지원시설의 설치가 필요한 시점이다. 장애인, 노약자를 위한 이동성 향상을 위하여 최근 급진적으로 발전되고 있는 IT기술을 활용하여 제거 또는 감소시켜 줌으로써 Barrier Free 환경이 구축되도록 하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 유비쿼터스 기술의 적용을 위하여 보행 및 안전지원시스템의 도입 필요성 및 도입시 필요한 고려사항에 대한 검토결과를 제시한다. 해외 기술개발 사례를 분석하여 향후 도로 및 보행환경에서의 유비쿼터스 기술의 도입을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고, 도입 방안을 검토하였다.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest directions for improving Authentication Of A Barrier-Free Living Environment(BF) of passenger facilities. Methods: We examined the parts (terms, Authentications, and dimensions) where the difference in the legal standards between the relevant items in the "ACT ON GUARANTEE OF PROMOTION OF CONVENIENCE OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, THE AGED, PREGNANT WOMEN, ETC." and the "ACT ON PROMOTION OF THE TRANSPORTATION CONVENIENCE OF MOBILITY DISADVANTAGED PERSONS", which are the basis of Authentication of BF for buildings and passenger facilities. We also mention the differences by comparing and analyzing Authentications of BF. In addition, we survey the current status of passenger facilities in Korea that have been granted and not granted Authentication of BF of passenger facilities. and we describe improvement directions of Authentications of BF. Implications: Improvement of Authentications of BF should be made in accordance with relevant laws, and improvement of Authentications of BF to reflect various situations in the field is needed. Authentications of BF according to the type of passenger facilities should be distinguished.
