A Study on the Analysis of Reusability of Marine Dredged Fine-grained Soils (해양 준설세립토의 재사용성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • A large amount of dredged soils occur in the marine purification project but dredged fine-grained soils have been abandoned as a waste. The standards as filling materials, banking materials, revetment blocks and concrete blocks were surveyed. Through the geotechnical tests of marine dredged fine-grained soils and the alkali-activation reaction, the usability as banking materials, revetment blocks and concrete blocks were analyzed. Dredged sands could be used as banking materials, and dredged fine-grained soils could be used as filling materials. A mixture of dredged fine-grained soils and dredged sands could be used as banking materials. Materials produced by the alkali-activation reaction could be used as a revetment block and a concrete block.

  • Alluvial plain of the coast of Kum river tail were found as being mostly consisted of weak foundation. The settlement of the ground, density and change of moisture content which were formed by the load due the construction of earth works were disclossed by the field investigations and laboratory tests.   • The EPS has the unit weight of only 20~30kg/m3 and is used as one of the methods of reducing road embankment loads. Parts of it's applications are for backfill materials of structures like abutment, retaining wall, etc., to reduce horizontal earth pressure and for banking materials to secure the safety of settlement and bearing capacity by minimizing the stress Increment. However, the Korean Standards (KS) has not yet proposed any testing method for use of EPS as a engineering banking material. Only its testing and quality ordinance as a heat insulation material has been standardized. Therefore, in Korea, EPS is used as banking material without any systematic testing data as a civil engineering material. In this point of view, this paper deals with the engineering characteristics of EPS through many laboratory tests on strength, strain, absorption, and creep. from the results achived through tests, this paper proposes the enactment of a suitable quality testing ordinance and the criteria of unconfined design strength of EPS for use as engineering material.

Response of germination rate and seed moisture contents to storage temperature and frequency of seed banking on seed soybean (Glycine max) for storage period

  • The seeds of soybean (Glycine max) were treated with different storage temperature for this study. The seeds of 3 accessions of soybean varieties in aluminum foil pack were used as materials. Storage temperature applied were $-18^{\circ}C$ and room temperature and seed banking (input after 3 days from output) frequencies were every 1, 6, and 12 month respectively for 9 years of storage period. As results seed banking frequency no affected to germination rate and seed moisture contents at $-18^{\circ}C$ storage room for seeds of soybean after 9 years. Germination rate of soybean seeds was changed from 96.2 % to 95.6 % averagely after 9 years of freezing ($-18^{\circ}C$) storage period. There were no differences in decreasing rate by number of seed banking frequency in soybean seeds. On the other hand, at room temperature germination rate of soybean seeds was decreased from 96.2 % to 27.3 % after 9 years which was decreased sharply to 55 % of initial viability after 6 years. The average rate of annual decrease of germination rate in soybean seeds was 38 % of initial viability at room temperature. Initial moisture contents of soybean seeds were 7.3 % and changed to 7.1 % at $-18^{\circ}C$ while it changed from 7.4 % to 7.0 % at room temperature after 9 years of storage period.

  • The objective of this study is to get an implication through the application of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) focused on Mobile Banking Service based on IC Chip. Thus firstly, this study reviewed the related literatures and materials. After this, this parer analyzed this TAM model with covariance structural method to search the factors influencing technology acceptance of Mobile banking service. In conclusion, the proposed model showed that 'innovation factor' influenced 'perceived usefulness' and 'user's acquaintance' influenced 'perceived ease of use'. And this 'perceived usefulness' influenced 'perceived ease of use' and this 'perceived ease of use' influence 'attitude toward use'.

A Study on the Reliability of Plastic BGA Package (플라스틱 BGA 패키지의 신뢰성에 관한 연구)

  • PBGA(Plastic Ball Grid Array) is composed of some materials such as PCB(Printed Circuit Board), epoxy molding compound, die attach and so on. Reliability of PBGA package is weak compared with plastic packages. The weak points of reliability are the lower resistance to popcorn cracking, which is induced by moisture absorption in PCB, and the pressure cooker test corrosion, which is the basic problem due to the material characteristics of PCB. Introducing the PCB banking and the plasma treatment cleared the popcorn cracking phenomenon. The PCB banking and plasma treatment reduced the epoxy void by eliminating the source of moisture vaporization during the epoxy curing and enhanced the adhesion between PCB and epoxy. Also, plasma treatment enhanced the wettability of epoxy on PCB. The problem of corrosion is cleared using multi-functional epoxy. This type of EMC(Epoxy Molding Compound) is recommended in package using PCB as a substrate.

  • This paper is to review the Uniform Rules for Bank Payment Obligations(URBPO 750E) which were developed by the Banking Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce and to present the implications. The rules were unanimously adopted during Lisbon meeting of the ICC Banking Commission on April 17th, 2013 and taken effect as of July 1, 2013. A BPO is an irrevocable undertaking given by an Obligor bank to a Recipient bank to pay a specified amount under the condition of a successful electronic matching of data or acceptance of mismatches. It is an alternative instrument for trade settlement, designed to complement existing solution and not to replace them(ICC,750E). The BPO enables banks to provide sellers and buyers with advanced risk mitigations and enhanced financing services. The BPO will improve trade processing efficiency such as increased transaction times, reduced handling cost, and others. It is believed that the BPO will have an important role to play in supporting the development of Supply Chain Finance in international Trade. So, This study will review the provisions and application of the URBPO 750E based on documentary materials including swift com and icc.org and so on.

Enhancing Customers' Satisfaction Using Loyalty Rewards Programs: Evidence from Jordanian Banks

  • The study aims to investigate loyalty rewards programs on customers' satisfaction in Jordanian banks, and to investigate the statistical differences in loyalty rewards programs and customers' satisfaction according to demographics such as age, sex, education level, duration of engagement with bank, and the type of bank. The study is based on the data obtained from the sample. The questionnaire is the tool for collecting data from the respondents. The study materials include website resources, regular books, journals, and articles. The study population consists customers in the banking sector. The figures indicate that number of actual customers reaches 2.06 million. The sample size requirement is 386 items. Customers are split between traditional and Islamic banks, with 231 and 155 customers respectively. The stratified random sampling technique and the structural equations modeling methodology were used. The results show moderated impact of the loyalty rewards programs on customers' satisfaction. The results show statistical differences in the loyalty rewards programs and customers' satisfaction according to the engagement period with the bank only. The findings suggest better managing the loyalty programs and developing one credit card for all banks in Jordan.

  • Evaluation of the methods of processing allogenic bone must be considered in order to make an effective choice of graft materials in oral surgery. Allograft materials processed by the tissue banking industry have varying capacities of bone reconstruction. The biological function of processed bone can be affected by many factors, like particle size, processing parameters, and inclusion or exclusion of mineral and moisture. For example, freeze drying step offers a safe and economical means for packaging, shipping, storage, and preservation of homologous bone. Demineralization of cortical bone using hydrochloric acid can produce a uniform demineralized surface with a capacity for osteoinduction. The objectives of this review were to evaluate the processing methods for allogenic bone and to characterize processed materials for grafting. It is important to understand the biological, biomechanical healing of different types of allografts to make the right choice for allogenic bone on each clinical application and to achieve a successful outcome for alveolar bone reconstruction in oral surgery.

Behaviour of the Excess Pore Pressure Induced by Sand Mat on the Soft Clay (점토지반 샌드매트의 간극수압 거동)

  • The design of sand mat should be reviewed by the behaviour of excess pore pressure which is obtained by combining characteristics of soft ground with the permeability of sand mat. In this paper, in order to investigate the distribution of hydraulic gradient of sand mat, a banking model test was performed using dredged sand as materials of sand mat, and these results were compared by the numerical analysis results utilizing Terzaghi's consolidation equation. The results show that the pore pressure was influenced by the settlement increasing in the central area of sand mat as the height of embankment increases, and uprising speed of excess pore pressure due to residing water pressure is delayed compared with the results of numerical analysis. Finally, the construction of sand mat should be spreaded to reduce the increased hydraulic gradient at the central area of embankment.
