A Study on the Impedance Model and Driving Performance for the Electrodeless Fluorescent Lamp (외부전극 형광램프의 해석모델자 구동 특성)

  • A impedance model simulating the electrical characteristics of the Electrodeless fluorescent lamp operated at high frequency is proposed. The model is constructed from a two parameter equation which is derived based on a set of two measurements. This is a readily constructed and computer simulator oriented model which is suitable for a preliminary design of electronic ballasts. Simulated and experimental results arc used to verify the analytical discussions, and, moreover, an electronic ballast design example using the proposed model is presented to further demonstrate its applications.

  • Product reliability plays a significantly important role these days. This study has been performed to examine the widely being used specifications, MIL-HDBK-217 and SR-332 for electronic parts. We specifically selected an electronic ballast of the low wattage fluorescent lamp for the study. We briefly reviewed the reliability specifications with the basic concepts of the ballast. We then valuated failure rates of the parts using MIL-HDBK-217 and SR-332 specifications. Since the quality and environment factor values are subjectively determined for failure rate evaluations, we excluded them for comparison.

  • As the level of technology and the standard of living improve, product reliability plays an increasingly significant role. This study has been performed to build a reliability model of electronic ballasts for the low wattage fluorescent lamp. Telcordia SR-332, one of the most widely used reliability specifications, was selected for the model development. We briefly reviewed the basic concepts of the electronic ballast. We then developed a reliability model for the ballast using SR-332 concepts and the reliability has been examined. We further discussed the significance of the first-year failure effect on the mean life.

  • CFL(Compact Fluorescent Lamp)는 기존에 사용되던 백열 램프를 바로 대치할 수 있고, 백열 전구에 비하여 광 효율이 우수하다는 장점으로 인해서 사용처가 점점 증가되고 있는 추세이다. 하지만 등기구가 가지는 공간적인 제약으로 인해서 EMI 필터와 PFC 회로를 내장할 수 없으며, 램프에서 발생한 열이 직접적으로 안정기 회로에 영향을 주어 안정기 내부 온도가 매우 높게 상승한다는 점으로 인해서 다양한 기능을 갖는 전용 ballast control IC를 사용할 수 없었다. 이러한 이유로 인해서 toroidal core를 이용한 자려식(self-excited) 동작 방법이 주로 이용되어왔다. 이러한 자려식 발진 방법은 설계하기가 까다롭기 때문에 램프 점등 전에 램프 필라멘트를 예열한 이후에 점등을 하는 rapid start 방법을 구현하기 어려웠다. 본 논문은 fairchild 반도체에서 만든 CFL 전용 ballast IC가 가지는 특성에 대해서 다루었다. IC 내부에 안정기 동작을 제어하기 위한 제어 부분과 두 개의 MOSFET를 내장하고 있어 안정기 구성에 필요한 공간을 최소화할 수 있고, 부하 상태를 검출하여 항상 Active ZVS 동작을 하도록 하는 기능을 내장하고 있어서 스위칭 손실을 최소화할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다.

  • This paper presents an architecture for driving multiple paralleled cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) for back lighting applications. The key to the architecture is a proposed capacitive coupling approach for lamp ignition. This system is consist of a flyback converter, a single inverter to drive multiple lamps and conductive floating reflector. The topology is capable of driving a number of parallel lamps with independent accurate lamp, current regulation and improving cost effectiveness with significant reduction in size and weight, compared to typical high frequency ac ballast. Experimental demonstration results for ten of parallel CCFLs with simultaneous ignition. This like the EEFL it will be able to use the CCFL is the thing. Also, it investigates the effect where the leakage current goes mad to the Lamp.

  • The EMI filter used in switching apparatus is designed on the basis of personal designer experience. A try and error approach leads to a considerables waste of time without assurance to come out to a good solution. The difficulty in the right choice of the component values resides on the dominant role played by their parasitic components at high frequencies and is aggravated by the poor knowledge of the internal impedance of the noise generators. In this paper, we proposed the design technique for the EMI filter effectively using the LISN and the EMI analyzer in the industrial field.

  • Power saving module which is consisted of ferroelectric ceramic capacitor and time delay switching circuit was installed into electronic ballast in order to enhance energy efficacy and extend life time of fluorescent lamp. The impedance matching of negative resistance characteristics of F/L was optimized with the characteristics of ferroelectric ceramics capacitor to increase the light efficiency of the electronic ballast. The high efficiency of the electronic ballast was achieved by minimizing wasted power at the filament of F/L during the lighting by using the switching function of time delay circuit from preheating mode to non-preheating mode. The life time of F/L was also extended by eliminating the reverse electromotive force using time delay circuits to minimize the impacts to the filament of F/L from unwanted high voltage peaks during light-up period. As the results, the electronic ballast with the first grade energy efficiency was developed using ferroelectric ceramics and time delay module.

  • I본 논문은 저압 수은-아르곤 기체방전을 이용한 콤팩트 형광램프에 대한 모델링으로서 방전관 내 기체의 반경방향 입자밀도 변화를 고려한 입자평형식, 에너지보존식 및 회로방정식 등의 모델 방정식을 구성하여 이를 상용전원 구동회로와 결합한 13[W] PL 콤팩트 형광램프에 적용하였다. 계산된 전류와 램프전압의 실효치 및 파형을 실험치와 비교하여 모델이 타당함을 보였다.

  • 형광등용 안정기의 실태를 파악하기 위하여, 제조시설 및 관리실태를 조사하고, 제품의 품질 특성을 조사하였다. 본 논문에서는 실태 평가를 위한 평가방법을 제시하고 이를 사용하였으며, 특히 형광등에서 가장 중요한 광출력 특성을 평가하기 위한 고아출력 평가인자를 제안하였다. 논문 자료를 위하여 8개사를 직접 방문하였으며, 제품 평가를 위하여는 입력 220[V] 형광램프 40[W] 1등용을 대상으로 하였다.

  • This paper presents the PFC method for an electronic ballast using SEPIC converter. Generally, the Boost Converter Type PFC has a DC 400V and output voltage is a bigger than input rms voltage. But the SEPIC type converter has above 0.95 Power Factor and wanted output voltage. This paper employs the SEPIC(Single Ended Primary Inductance Converter) Converter for PFC and the Ring core for oscillating method. Consequently, We reduced element's size and capacity in a converter with minimum voltage for the operating lamp.
