  • Recently, the importance of elemental technologies constituting smart factories is increasing due to the 4th Industrial Revolution, and simulation is widely used as a tool to learn these technologies. In particular, PID control is an automatic control technique used in various fields, and most of them analyze mathematical models in certain situations or research on application development with built-in controllers. In actual educational environment requires PID simulator training as well as PID control principles. In this paper, we propose a model that enables education and practice of various PID controls through 3D simulation. The proposed model implemented virtual balls and Fan and implemented PID control by configuring a system so that the force can be lifted by the air pressure generated in the Fan. At this time, the height of the ball was expressed in a graph according to each gain value of the PID controller and then compared with the actual system, and through this, satisfactory results sufficiently applicable to the actual class were confirmed. Through the proposed model, it is expected that the rapidly increasing elemental technology of smart factories can be used in various ways in a remote classroom environment.

  • This paper proposes methods for the cooperative control of multiple mobile robots and constructs a robotic soccer system in which the cooperation will be implemented as a pass play of two robots. To play a soccer game, elementary actions such as shooting and moving have been designed, and Q-learning, which is one of the popular methods for reinforcement learning, is used to determine what actions to take. Through simulation, learning is successful in case of deliberate initial arrangements of ball and robots, thereby cooperative work can be accomplished.

  • The applicability of a new method, termed the whirling motion concept, for the improvement of the surface finish in milling three-dimensional sculptured surfaces has been investigated. A method for implementing this concept o conventional NC machines that utilize a suitably configured attachment has been proposed. The tool path equation for the ball-end milling process, based on the surface-shaping system, has been obtained. Both results of the computer simulation and the experiment verified the proposed approach.

  • In the present study, a method for measuring the relative density by the hardness measurement was proposed for sintered metal powder compacts. It is based on the indentation force equation, by which the relative density is related with the hardness, that was obtained by the finite element analysis of rigid-ball indentation on sintered metal powder compacts. For verifying the method, it was applied to prediction of density distributions in sintered and sintered-and-forged Fe-0.5%C-2%Cu powder compacts.

  • In the electrolysis process of zinc plating impurity ions must be removed from zinc chloride plating solution because it's harmful to the current efficiency and the purity of zinc plating. In this study using zinc ball as a prcipitant instead of zinc dust, the fundamental data for continuous cementation process was studied. Based upon two series of experiments that consist of batch experiment with cylindrical zinc specimen and continuous experiment with zinc balls, following results have been obtained. In the continuous experiment all impurity ions have been removed within 1 hour regardless of various experimental conditions.

  • In this paper we consider the existence of rotationally symmetric entire solutions for the prescribed higher mean curvature spacelike equations in Minkowski spacetime. As a first step, we study the associated 0-Dirichlet problems on a ball, and then we prove that all possible solutions can be extended to + ∞. The proof of our main results are based upon the topological degree methods and the standard prolongability theorem of ordinary differential equations.

  • The web-based group collaborative systems are emerging as enterprise-wide information systems. Since data in group collaborative systems are apt to be shared among multiple concurrent users and modified simutaneously by them, the web-based group collaborative systems must support synchronous collaboration in order to provide users with synchronized and consistent views of shared data. This Paper proposes an active web server which can facilitate synchronous collaboration in web-based group collaborative systems. To accomplish such a goal, the active web server manages dependency relationships between shared data and web browsers referencing them and actively propagates changing details of the shared data to all web browsers referencing them. And, this paper examines usefullness and effectiveness of the active web server to apply it to the ball-bearing design example of concurrent engineering design systems. The prototype system of the active web server is developed on a commercial Object-oriented Database Management System (ODBMS) called OBJECTSTORE using the C++ programming language.
