Current Control Scheme of High Speed SRM Using Low Resolution Encoder

  • This paper presents a balanced soft-chopping circuit and a modified PI controller for a high speed 4/2 Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) with a 16 pulse per revolution encoder. The proposed balanced soft-chopping circuit can supply double the switching frequency in the fixed switching frequency of power devices to reduce current ripple. The modified PI controller uses maximum voltage, back-emf voltage and PI control modes to overcome the over-shoot current due to the time delay effect of current sensing. The maximum voltage mode can supply a fast excitation current with consideration of the hardware time delay. Then the back-emf voltage mode can suppress the current over-shoot with consideration of the feedback signal delay. Finally, the PI control mode can adjust the phase current to a desired value with a fast switching frequency due to the proposed balanced soft-chopping technology.

  • Simultaneous filling is a goal in plastic injection mold that has multi cavities. The moldings which have not been filled at the same time have undesired faults such as dimension inaccuracy, residual stress, law mechanical strength, etc. The best way to simultaneous fill is to be injected in a geometrically balanced runner system. In a general processing, however, in balanced runner system mold, filling imbalance would be observed in cavities. These phenomena result from molten polymer's characteristics and circumstances in balanced runner. In this study, the degree of filling imbalance (DFI) was defined for showing rate of filling imbalance in geometrically balanced injection mold that has 8 cavities. Before the main experiment, an injection molding simulation was conducted to know a pattern of filling imbalance with Moldflow software. There were somewhat differences between results of experiment and simulation about the filling imbalance. The reason for the difference was that the software have not concerned about a situation in a real flow channel. It was also investigated how the injection speed affected on filling imbalance in the experiment.

  • 2000년대 이후 중국정부는 전 국토를 연결하는 '4+4 8대 간선'을 건설하여 상대적으로 낙후된 중·서부지역을 발전시키고 지역 간 격차를 해소하고자 하였다. 일반적으로 고속철도는 지역 간 접근성을 향상시켜 지역경제발전에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있다. 하지만, 일부 연구에서는 고속철도 건설로 인해 지역 간 불균형이 확대될 수 있음을 지적하기도 한다. 이에 본 연구는 베타수렴모형(beta-convergence model)을 통해 고속철도가 중국의 지역경제성장과 균형발전에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증분석을 수행하였다. 특히, 지역의 발전수준에 따라 고속철도의 효과가 어떻게 달라지는지에 초점을 맞추었다. 이를 위하여 지역발전 수준이 서로 다른 동·중·서부 지역을 연결하는 호용선(Shanghai-Chengdu)을 중심으로 분석을 수행하였다.

차세대 동력분산형 고속열차(HEMU-430X)의 중량변화에 따른 가속능력 분석 (The Analysis of Acceleration Performance Resulted by Weight Variation for HEMU-430X high-speed train the Korea's next-generation electric multiple unit train)

  • 국내 최초로 개발된 동력분산형 고속열차인 HEMU-430X의 최고속도시험 중 실시한 차량 중량과 가속성능간의 상관관계에 대해 보고한다. 차량의 출력을 일정하게 유지한 채, 차량에 중량물 설치 및 제거를 통해 전체 차량의 중량을 2% 변화시킬 때의 차량 가속성능을 분석한 결과, 시험 최고속도인 413km/h속도 영역에서는 중량이 가벼울 때 최고속도시험에 유리한 것으로 나타났다. 시험 종료 후, 시험 당시 0.1초 단위로 측정된 속도 데이터를 바탕으로 속도별 차량의 추진에 사용된 소비전력을 측정한 결과 차량의 견인력과 공기저항력이 같아져서 더 이상 추진이 되지 않는 균형속도는 419km/h로 산출이 되었으며, 이는 중량이 가벼울 때 가속이 유리하다는 시험 결과와 일치한다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 향후 HEMU-430X의 증속 시험에 활용할 계획이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 100 Mb/s Unshielded Twisted Pairs (UTP) 케이블 Modular Jack의 평형 통신 시스템(Balanced Communication System)에서 시스템의 성능에 영향을 주지 않으변서, UTP 케이블의 꼬임이 풀림 으로 인해 서로 근접하게 배치된 평형통신 선로(Balanced Communication Lines)간에 존재하는 불균일한 결 합으로 인한 차등 누화 선호(Differen tial- Mode Crosstalk Signal)를 효과적으로 제거하거나 억제시킬 수 있는 접근 방법에 대하여 논하고 있으며, 실제 UTP 케이블의 Modular Jack에 이를 적용시켜 이에 대한 큰단누화 (Near-End Crosstalk (Next)를 측정함으로써 그 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • Almost all injection molds have multi-cavity runner for mass production, which are designed with geometrically balanced runner system in order to minimize filling imbalance between cavity to cavity during processing. However, even though geometrically balanced runner is used, filling imbalances have sometimes been observed. These filling imbalances have historically been considered as result of uneven mold temperature and mold deflection, but it actually results from non-symmetrically shear, pressure, temperature distribution within melt material as it flows through the runner system. Filling imbalance could be decreased by modifying processing conditions that are related to shear, pressure, temperature such as injection rate, mold temperature, injection pressure, melt temperature. In this study, a series of experiment was conducted using Taguchi method to determine which processing condition influence as the primary cause of filling imbalance in geometrically balanced runner system. As a result of experiments, this paper could present an optimal processing condition to minimize variable that brings about filling imbalance geometrically balanced runner system

Hydrodynamic characteristics of X-Twisted rudder for large container carriers

  • This paper shows the numerical and experimental results about the hydrodynamic characteristics of X-Twisted rudders having continuous twist of the leading edge along the span. All the results were compared with those of the semi-balanced rudder. Calculation through the Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes Equation (RANSE) code with propeller sliding meshes shows large inflow angle and fast inflow velocity in the vicinity of ${\pm}0.7$ R from the shaft center, so it may cause cavitation. Also, X-Twisted rudder has relatively small inflow angles along the rudder span compared with semi-balanced rudder. For the performance validation, rudders for two large container carriers were designed and tested. Cavitation tests at the medium sized cavitation tunnel with respect to the rudder types and twisted angles showed the effectiveness of twist on cavitation and the tendency according to the twist. And the resistance, self-propulsion and manoeuvring tests were also carried out at the towing tank. As a result, in the case of X-Twisted rudder, ship speed was improved with good manoeuvring performance. Especially, it was found out that manoeuvring performance between port and starboard was well balanced compared with semi-balanced rudders.

  • A curved track needs balanced super elevation according to the speed of the passing train and it is limited by maximum allowable amount. Therefore, passing speed at high degree curved track has to be controlled below the limits. Accurate position of the Speed Limit Post(SLP), which shows allowable speed of curved track dose not regulated so design and line side maintenance engineer adopt the position differently, When the rate of cant deficiency is considered on transition-curved section, the SLP should be located at the beginning point of the transition curve so as to control the speed of passing train and it will increase ride quality to passenger.

  • This paper describes data placement schemes that provide uniform and balanced to multiple disks load for retrievals of VBR (variable bit rate) video at varying retrieval speeds. To support maximum concurent users at arbitrary-speed playbacks in a disk-arry based system, the hot spot disks should be carefully avoided. In this paper, we extend the proposed scheme, prime round-robin(PRR), for VBR video. In addition, we have compared the performance of PRR and PRR (PRR extension).

Performance Analysis of the Linear Induction Motor for the Deep-Underground High-Speed GTX

  • In order to develop a deep-underground great train express (GTX) in South Korea, the specifications decision and development of a traction control system (including an inverter and a traction motor), which considers a variety of route conditions, must be advanced. In this study, we examined the running resistance properties of a high-speed traction system based on a variety of tunnel types and vehicle organization methods. Then, we studied the power requirements necessary for the traction motor to maintain balanced speed in the high-speed traction system. From this, we determined the design criteria for the development of a high-speed traction system for use in the deep-underground GTX. Finally, we designed a linear induction motor (LIM) for a propulsion system, and we used the finite element method (FEM) to analyze its performance as it travelled through deep-underground tunnels.
