  • The method of identifying the plant models in this paper is the Observer Kalman filter identification (OKID) method. This method of system identification has several pertinent advantages. First, it assumes that the system in question is a discrete linear time-invariant (LTI) state-space system. Second, it requires only input and output data to formulate the model, no a priori knowledge of the system is needed. Third, the OKID method produces a psudo-Kalman state estimator, which is very useful for control applications.   • In the recent day, fatigue life prediction techniques play a major role in the design of components in the ground vehicle industry. Full scale durability testing in the laboratory is an essential of any fatigue life evaluation of components or structures of the automotwe vehicle. Component testing is part~cularly important in today's highly competitive industries where the design to reduce weight and production costs must be balanced with the necessity to avoid expensive service failure. Generally, multi-axial road simulator is used to carry out the fatigue test and the vibration test. In this paper, the algorithm and software to realize the real road profile are developed. The validity of the software are verified by applying the belgian road, the city road, the highway, and the gravel road. The results of the above experiment show that the real road profiles are realized well after loth iteration.

Generally, Hydraulic road simulator is used to carry out the fatigue test and the vibration test. In this paper, the algorithm and software to realize the real road profile are developed. The operation software for simultaneously controlled multi-axial simulator is developed and the input and output data are displayed window based PC controller in real time. The software to generate the real road profile are developed. This paper developed a road profile reappearance software and simultaneously apply 3-axial actuator to white noise, so we verified the propriety of reappearance software through accomplishes an real test.

FDML 방식 스위핑 광원을 사용한 SS-OCT 구현 (Realization of Swept Source-Optical Coherence Tomography using FDML Laser)

  • In this paper, the swept source-optical coherence tomography system using frequency domain mode locked(FDML) laser has realized. The FDML swept source laser showed 55.03 kHz sweeping speed, 125 nm sweeping range, and 9 mW output optical power, which are the superiority of FDML laser compared to previous swept source lasers. Also, through the cross-sectional image captured at 5 frames per second for a mirror, a 1 mm-thickness glass plate, and a thumb bottom, the performance of the system has demonstrated.

Portfolio Assessment as a Policy for Innovating Mathematics Classrooms

  • For the balanced realization of these values of mathematical culture, we need to innovate mathematics classrooms, for which we need to make use of portfolio assessment. First, portfolio assessment can be regarded as a method of synthesizing a variety of resources for systematic evaluation. Second, portfolio assessment can be used as a tool of building up learners' positive attitude toward mathematics, by which we can identify the latent possibility of learners' development and help them develop confidence in mathematics. Third, portfolio assessment can play an important role as a tool for exploring the method of teaching and learning in which learners recognize the value of mathematics and are interested in mathematical activities, as we have seen in the report on the Gulliver's Travels Project.

On the Merger of Korean Mid Front Vowels: Phonetic and Phonological Evidence

  • This paper investigates the status of the merger between the mid front unrounded vowels ㅔ[e] and ㅐ[${\varepsilon}$] in contemporary Korean. Our analysis is based on a balanced corpus of production and perception data from young subjects from three dialectal areas (Seoul, Daegu and Gwangju). Except for expected gender differences, the production data display no difference in the realization of these vowels, in any of the dialects. The perception data, while mostly in line with the production results, show that Seoul females tend to better discriminate the two vowels in terms of perceived height: vowels with a lower F1 are more likely to be categorized as ㅔ by this group. We then investigate the possible causes of this merger: based on an empirical study of transcribed spoken Korean, we show that the pair of vowels ㅔ/ㅐ has a very low functional load. We argue that this factor, together with the phonetic similarity of the two vowels, may have been responsible for the observed merger.

  • The object of this study is to provide a framework of increasing the effectiveness of the R&D planning of experts in fisheries and the education of students with the theoretical background and analytical skills through the adoption of technology roadmapping process in the marine production industry. The study was conducted by fact-finding surveys and the response content for surveys obtained from each expert advisor in the field of fisheries and maritime affairs such as fishery industries, some government organizations and research institutes including the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MOMAF), National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) and fisheries-related universities was analyzed. The major implementation tasks to effectively achieve the basic goals of technology roadmap for short and middle-term research and development in the fisheries production field are as follows: 1. Research in order to achieve the realization of community-based resource management fisheries or fishermen-oriented co-management fisheries with paradigm shift in fisheries management. 2. Research in order to derive the construction of cost reducing and manpower saving systems in fishery-related science, technology and engineering. 3. Research in order to create the high value-added fisheries products with a focus on the upgrading of processing, freezing and refrigerating facilities, the reduction of logistics costs and the minimization of distribution steps. 4. Research in order to achieve the realization and development of environmental-friendly fisheries and internationally competitive fisheries through restructuring the entire fishing industries, in particular, small-scale fisheries. 5. Research in order to achieve the effective utilization of fisheries resources with a new creation of clean and living marine environment by fisherman under the balanced management and protection of marine living resources and fishing grounds.

Generally, hydraulic road simulator is used to carry out the fatigue test and the vibration test. In this paper, the algorithm and software to realize the real road profile are developed. The operation software for simultaneously controlled multi-axial road simulator is developed and the input and output data are displayed window based PC controller in the real time. Futhermore, the software to generate the real road profile are developed. The validity of the software are verified by applying the belgian road, the city road, the highway, and the gravel road. The results of the above experiment show that the real road profiles are realized well after 10th iteration.

PLS 경로모형을 이용한 IT 조직의 BSC 성공요인간의 인과관계 분석 (A PLS Path Modeling Approach on the Cause-and-Effect Relationships among BSC Critical Success Factors for IT Organizations)

  • Measuring Information Technology(IT) organizations' activities have been limited to mainly measure financial indicators for a long time. However, according to the multifarious functions of Information System, a number of researches have been done for the new trends on measurement methodologies that come with financial measurement as well as new measurement methods. Especially, the researches on IT Balanced Scorecard(BSC), concept from BSC measuring IT activities have been done as well in recent years. BSC provides more advantages than only integration of non-financial measures in a performance measurement system. The core of BSC rests on the cause-and-effect relationships between measures to allow prediction of value chain performance measures to allow prediction of value chain performance measures, communication, and realization of the corporate strategy and incentive controlled actions. More recently, BSC proponents have focused on the need to tie measures together into a causal chain of performance, and to test the validity of these hypothesized effects to guide the development of strategy. Kaplan and Norton[2001] argue that one of the primary benefits of the balanced scorecard is its use in gauging the success of strategy. Norreklit[2000] insist that the cause-and-effect chain is central to the balanced scorecard. The cause-and-effect chain is also central to the IT BSC. However, prior researches on relationship between information system and enterprise strategies as well as connection between various IT performance measurement indicators are not so much studied. Ittner et al.[2003] report that 77% of all surveyed companies with an implemented BSC place no or only little interest on soundly modeled cause-and-effect relationships despite of the importance of cause-and-effect chains as an integral part of BSC. This shortcoming can be explained with one theoretical and one practical reason[Blumenberg and Hinz, 2006]. From a theoretical point of view, causalities within the BSC method and their application are only vaguely described by Kaplan and Norton. From a practical consideration, modeling corporate causalities is a complex task due to tedious data acquisition and following reliability maintenance. However, cause-and effect relationships are an essential part of BSCs because they differentiate performance measurement systems like BSCs from simple key performance indicator(KPI) lists. KPI lists present an ad-hoc collection of measures to managers but do not allow for a comprehensive view on corporate performance. Instead, performance measurement system like BSCs tries to model the relationships of the underlying value chain in cause-and-effect relationships. Therefore, to overcome the deficiencies of causal modeling in IT BSC, sound and robust causal modeling approaches are required in theory as well as in practice for offering a solution. The propose of this study is to suggest critical success factors(CSFs) and KPIs for measuring performance for IT organizations and empirically validate the casual relationships between those CSFs. For this purpose, we define four perspectives of BSC for IT organizations according to Van Grembergen's study[2000] as follows. The Future Orientation perspective represents the human and technology resources needed by IT to deliver its services. The Operational Excellence perspective represents the IT processes employed to develop and deliver the applications. The User Orientation perspective represents the user evaluation of IT. The Business Contribution perspective captures the business value of the IT investments. Each of these perspectives has to be translated into corresponding metrics and measures that assess the current situations. This study suggests 12 CSFs for IT BSC based on the previous IT BSC's studies and COBIT 4.1. These CSFs consist of 51 KPIs. We defines the cause-and-effect relationships among BSC CSFs for IT Organizations as follows. The Future Orientation perspective will have positive effects on the Operational Excellence perspective. Then the Operational Excellence perspective will have positive effects on the User Orientation perspective. Finally, the User Orientation perspective will have positive effects on the Business Contribution perspective. This research tests the validity of these hypothesized casual effects and the sub-hypothesized causal relationships. For the purpose, we used the Partial Least Squares approach to Structural Equation Modeling(or PLS Path Modeling) for analyzing multiple IT BSC CSFs. The PLS path modeling has special abilities that make it more appropriate than other techniques, such as multiple regression and LISREL, when analyzing small sample sizes. Recently the use of PLS path modeling has been gaining interests and use among IS researchers in recent years because of its ability to model latent constructs under conditions of nonormality and with small to medium sample sizes(Chin et al., 2003). The empirical results of our study using PLS path modeling show that the casual effects in IT BSC significantly exist partially in our hypotheses.

  • 앙드레 바쟁은 영화의 프레임을 두고 '세상을 향해 열린 창'이라고 표현하였는데 3D 입체 영화를 통해 이 말은 더 현실로 다가왔다. 2009년 아바타(Avatar) 의 개봉을 기점으로 입체 영화는 새로운 전환점을 맞이했다. 이제 입체 영화에 대한 이론과 정보는 넘쳐난다. 지금 우리에게 필요한 것은 제작 현장에 맞는 작업 방식을 찾아내고, 필요한 데이터를 축적하는 것이다. 완성도 있는 영화를 위한 작업 방식에도 여러 가지가 있다. 어떤 방식이든 안정감 있는 영화를 만들기 위해서는 먼저 점검해야 할 사항들이 있다. 이 논문은 '놀이동산에 또 놀러 와요, 엄마'를 중심으로 제작 과정에서 고려해야 할 사항들을 살펴보고, 작품을 통해 취득한 기술적인 문제들을 공유하고자 한다. 입체 영화에 대한 노하우가 부족한 시점에서 본 연구의 기초 자료들이 제작기술을 축적하는데 좋은 참고가 되길 바란다.
