  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine whether Temporomandibular Joint Balance Appliance-Golf (TBA-G) can improve postural control ability of healthy adults. Methods: Twenty participants (10 male, 10 female) aged 20 to 39 years were involved. Postural control ability of all participants was assessed before and after applying TBA-G with Balance $Master^{(R)}$ system. Modified clinical test sensory interaction on balance (mCTSIB), unilateral stance, weight bearing and rhythmic weight shift were used to evaluate postural control ability. Results: After applying TBA-G, mCTSIB on a firm plate with eyes open increased from 0.2 to 0.23 (p<0.05) but directional control was improved in slow and moderate velocity of front/back rhythmic weight shift test (P<0.05). In two cases with postural imbalance, most of the postural control measures improved after applying TBA-G. Conclusions: The results suggest that TBA-G could improve balance control ability. A larger controlled trial is needed to determine more accurately the effect of TBA-G on balance control ability.

  • To investigate the effects of the postural balance of TMJ using intraoral balancing appliance of functional cerebrospinal technique (FCST) combined acupuncture and manual medicine therapeutics in the treatment of congenital muscular torticollis. An idiopathic cervical dystonia case was managed with postural training with intraoral balancing appliance, combined with acupuncture and manual medicine therapeutics. Clinical assessment included radiography, Toronto Western Spasmodic Torticollis Rating Scale, and global clinical impression. Clinical improvement was observed over 5 months of treatment period. Clinical observational data on spasmodic torticollis provide an positive prospective for further investigation on the effect of FCST.

  • Objectives : The report intended to estimate effect taken by using FCST(functional cerebrospinal technique) on the patient with one gait disturbance case. Methods : A gait disturbance one case with 2 weeks of duration was managed by the Balance Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture and herbl medicine. Results : After being treates for 2 weeks, the patint's 10mWT were improved. Assessment was made by self assessment of subjective symptoms and clinical observation. Conclusions : An impressive effect was observed and further clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.

  • Therapeutic effect of Yinyang Balancing Appliance of functional cerebrospinal therapy (FCST) for meridian and neurologic yinyang balance was observed in tic disorder patients. Seventy tic disorder cases were managed with the Yinyang Balancing Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture. Clinical outcome measurement was based on subjective measures and overall clinical impressions. Patients showed a trend toward improvement by clinical observations. In some cases, such changes were visible even after the initial treatment, and this effect was observed to be maintained over the follow-up period. Further clinical and biological research on tic disorder is expected with respect to the FCST.

  • This case is witten for presenting the effect of the yin-yang balancing therapy using the TMJ balancing appliance which normalizes the yin and yang balance of the brain-nervous system including the Meridian system. The balancing appliance was used in patient with fibromyalgia syndrome, and clinical outcome measurements were performed through clinical observations in specific movement and actions. The patient displayed positive changes after the treatment and the effect was well-maintained during the treatment period. For the more precise evaluation, clinical and biological studies of temporomadibular balancing therapy (TBT) are needed.

  • This case is intended to present the effectiveness of TMJ balance therapy, which normalizes the yin-yang balance of the cranial nervous system, including the meridian system. Temporomandibular joint balance therapy was performed on growing children with occlusal abnormalities, and clinical results were measured through specific observation of height and weight. The patient showed improvement in deep bite and satisfactory increase in growth after treatment. From these observations, it can be inferred that temporomandibular joint balance therapy has a positive effect not only on the brain nervous system but also on the action of pituitary hormones. For a more accurate evaluation, clinical and biological research on temporomandibular joint balance therapy (TBT) is needed.
