  • Today, many organizations are reengineering themselves to develop new ways to thrive in a foreign and unforgiving business environment. However, it is reported that many companies involved in the project of business process reengineering are dissatisfied with their results. Therefore, we developed an exploratory framework based on three constructs such as critical success factors, organizational maturity level, and performance and applied these to help analyze current practice in business process reengineering. To proceed with our research, this paper was organized around two research questions in business process reengineering. We addressed: (1) To what extent does certain critical success factors correlate with performance? and (2) How does the relationships between critical success factors and performance differ by organizational maturity level? From the research results, we could find relationships between critical success factors(i.e., project management, change management, objective management) and performance, and could verify differences in performance of organizations grouped by organizational maturity level.

  • Organization change projects such as Business Process Redesign(BPR) have been implemented by many firms for enhancing their organizational performance. However, management is reluctant to initiate these projects due to enterprise-wide impact and steeper project cost than the traditional system development projects. Thus, there emerges a need to accurately assess the value of the redesigned organizational process for the successful implementation of BPR projects. The purpose of this study is to assess the value of process redesign in the point of resource utilization and allocation, and cycle time and cost reduction. The candidate process and the design alternatives are identified from organizational requirements analysis. The variables and their relations are defined to perform task activity analysis, bottleneck analysis, cycle cost analysis, and resource utilization analysis. A Case study of a manufacturing company indicates that the assessments method proposed in this study is a promising approach to identify the business alternative process that lead to the highest organizational performance.

  • To develop a new spice material garlic juice was prepared from peeled garlic and its composition, density and boiling point rise were investigated. Major components of the garlic juice were moisture(68.01%), crude protein(6.50%) and carbohydrate(25.39%). Yield of the juice from the peeled whole garlic was 49.50%(w/w). Density of the garlic juice with solid content of 32 to $65^{\circ}$ Brix was in the range of 1,107 to $1,243kg/m^3$. Boiling point rise of garlic juice increased exponentially with the increase of solid content. In the solid content range of 32 to $65^{\circ}$ Brix, the boiling point rise could be predicted with following experimental equation with average error of less than 7%. $$BPR=1.4105.\;P^{0.1338}.\;exp(0.0357.\;X_5-1.3925)$

  • In the modern business environment, ERP System is a tool for efficient use of the resources of the company. Implementation of the ERP System is not a simple introduction of the unit system. The changes and innovation of the company will be made through the BPR. And then, the BPR is made based on the system design and implementation. Cultural difference creates a difference in the attitudes and relationships of members of company. and, Cultural difference produce differences in organizational culture and operating principles. Cultural differences can mention the differences in the cultures of East and West, and can mention the difference between each country within the same culture. In the paper, we determine the impact of cultural differences on the implementation of the ERP System. Cultural differences affect the implementation process and the decision-making process, user interface.

  • Recently, as the development of Ubiquitous Smart Space (USS) such as U-City is proliferating, preparing a development methodology dedicated to USS characteristics has become one of the crucial issues to increase the productivity of the USS projects. However, since the legacy development methodologies such as traditional UML do not consider the critical components of ubiquitous computing space such as context-awareness, service oriented architecture and multi-agent communication, they are not optimized for USS analysis and design. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to propose a USS-sophisticated development methodology. To do so, a hybrid approach, BPR-USS for space reengineering and UML-USS by amending UML with corresponding toolkit based on StarUML has been implemented. To show the feasibility of the approach described in this paper, an illustrative example with an actual USS development project for a multiplex space in Seoul is shown.

  • The whole of industry sectors are getting achieved BPR(Business process Reencountering) which innovate the inefficient product organization through examined the value chain. Besides, they try to integrate ERP, CRM, and SCM which is based on value chain. Construction Industry, however, not only is not regularized it but is not inadequacy about information mind. Nowadays Korean government lead the construction CALS, only some large company Innovate and restructure the organization and product structure. It Is necessary to efficient manage the project information and historical data and develop CIC/PMIS to transfer from the function based information-flow to the project based information-flow. The purpose of the Information management system's success In Korea, therefore, this paper analyzes the information-intensive problems and proves the device to achieve the Information Management System through the Standardization, Synchronization, Centralization for Construction Company.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs) have shown a lot of good outcomes in providing a various functions depending on industrial expectations by deploying ad-hoc networking with helps of light loaded and battery powered sensor nodes. In particular, it is strongly requested to develop an algorithm of cross-layer control between 2-layer and 3-layer to deriver the sensing data from the end node to the sink node on time. In this paper, based on the above observation we have proposed an IEEE802.15.4 based self priority routing scheme under UC Berkely TinyOS platform. The proposed beacon based priority routing (BPR) algorithm scheme utilizes beacon periods in sending message with embedding the high priority data and thus provides high quality of service(QoS) in the given criteria. The performance measures are the packet Throughput, delivery, latency, total energy consumption. Simulation results under TinyOS Simulator(TOSSIM) have shown the proposed scheme outcome the conventional Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector(AODV) Routing.
