Purpose: A survey was done on knowledge and attitude toward CPR and provision of CPR education to nurses on general wards. Method: A survey of 280 nurses on general wards in four university hospitals with 700 beds or more in the city of Pusan was done. The data were collected from September 10, to September 22, 2007. Results: The mean score for knowledge of Basic Life Support was 12.71 (mean converted to 100: 63). About 76% of the nurses believed that they had a responsibility to perform CPR, but 53.3% of the nurses were not confident to perform CPR. About 94% of the nurses had received education on CPR but 32.3% of those took it 6 to 12 years ago. About 41% of the nurses spent 3-4 hours for the education and 73.2% of those took simulation education. Conclusion: Although most of the nurses had received CPR education, they were not knowledgeable or confident. Therefore, better CPR education programs including up-dated knowledge are needed. More reinforced education should be offered every six months or on a yearly basis in order to enhance lasting efficiency.

Purpose: Bystander CPR has demonstrated improved survival of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of CPR education in the rural community. Method: One hundred eighty-nine rural laypersons (105 in the experimental group and 84 in the control group) participated in this study. In the experimental group, questionnaires were completed after participating in a small group BLS (Basic Life Support) course. In the control group questionnaires were collected from two rural health service centers. Data were analysed using $X^2$test, independent t-test and paired t-test. Result: There were significant differences in barriers to performing CPR, attitude and intention toward CPR and necessity recognition between the two groups. Conclusion: The proportion of positive attitudes toward CPR and willingness to perform CPR was higher in the experimental group than the control group. CPR education increased anxiety of being sued because of a bad outcome. For future CPR education for laypersons, the reluctance of bystanders to perform CPR should be reconsidered and CPR education should be extended to the rural community.
Glucose is the most importantenergy source in the central nervous system. Because the central nervous system cannot synthesize or store glucose. low blood glucose even for a short period results in no functionally normal activity of the brain. In addition, continuous low blood glucosecan cause irreversible brain damage and brain death. Therefore, the current status of emergency care by first aid staffs during transfer of patients with hypoglycemia has been investigated in this study, 114 patients who have visited the hospital using 119 Emergency Medical Service from January 1, 2004 till December, 2004 and shown blood glucose of 2.8 mmol/L and less on arrival have been involved. In case of nurses, assistant nurses, first aid staffs receiving first aid training and second-class emergency medical technicians(EMTs), they provided basic life support (BLS). In case of first-class EMTs, they measured blood sugar and then they orally administered glucose to conscious patients or provided simple first aids and prompt transfer for unconscious patients. As a result of analysis, it is suggested that first aid retraining is required.
Purpose: This study sought to determine how the act of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) affects the rescuer's muscle tone, stiffness, and fatigue in the lumbar region. Methods: The research subjects were 30 healthy men in their twenties in possession of a Basic Life Support (BLS) provider certificate. In this study, the CPR rescuer's muscle tone and stiffness in the upper and lower lumbar regions were measured in the resting position, starting position, and position after 10 min. Their level of fatigue was measured before and after performing CPR. Results: Muscle tone and stiffness in the upper and lower lumbar regions of the research subjects significantly increased throughout the CPR process and lasted up to 10 min after the process (p<.001). The subjects' fatigue also significantly increased post-CPR (p<.001). Conclusion: This study suggests that performing CPR creates muscular and physiological stress, fatigue, and ultimately, lower back pain.

Purpose : We investigated the career choice and the employment preparation of emergency medical technology (EMT) students. The results of study will provide the base information about the consciousness for career choice and employment of the EMT students. Method : We conducted 1,586 surveys from 665 students at six four-year colleges and 921 students at seven three-year colleges, from Aug. 27th to Oct. 31st in 2010. The result was analyzed by SPSS 18.0 using description statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe and Pearson correlation coefficient. Result : The general characteristics showed male 50.2% and female 49.8%, and first grade 34.6%, second grade 27.4%, third grade 28.2%, and fourth grade 9.8%. The 53.9% of students had experienced the hospital training and the 44.8% did the fire station training. For the choice of job, there were the 61.8% student who hope to enter the employ in fire station or public service, while 25.7% students hope to be employed in hospitals. The reason for a wish job were 'majors-related job' in 18.2% students, 'employment stability' in 17.2% and 'hit on the aptitude and talent' in 16.7%, 'appropriate salaries' in 15.9%. In the questionnaire of the University what to assist you for job preparation, they chose the 'support for get major related license', 'support for officer exam preparation' and 'support of foreign language study' in 34.6%, 16.8% and 16.6%, respectively. For achieved licence, they had a driver's license in 53.9%, BLS (basic life support) provider in 20.3%, life guard in 16.2% and scuba in 8.8%. The statistically significant correlation was identified between the awareness of University that provides job information and one's career awareness (r= .203, p<.000), the awareness that University provide job information and one's confidence in employment (r= .236, p<.000), and one's career awareness and one's confidence in employment (r = .356, p = .000). Conclusion : The most of EMT Students are well conscious of the their future employment and has prepared career to be employed their preference job.

PC Skillreporting feedback during cardiopulmonary resuscitaion would improve the performance of chest compression and ventilation during cardiac arrest. BLS skills were measured using Laerdal Skillreporter manikin(Laerdal, Norway) connected to a Laerdal PC Skillreporting system. Ventilation volume, chest compression accuracy, velocity of compression, depth of compression, hand position and chest recoil were measured between the two groups. Ventilation volume was significantly higher in the experimental group than that of control group(p<0.002). Chest compression depth was significantly higher in experimental group than that of control group(p=0.000). The quality of CPR can be improved by the use of PC Skillreporting system.
The purpose of the study was investigated the convergence relationship between knowledge, attitude and confidence to cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) in dental hygienists. To measure knowledge, attitude and confidence in CPR a structured questionnaire survey was carried out by 234 dental hygienists in Jeonbok area. from January to June, 2017. Date were analysis using SPSS 21.0 by ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficients. There was positive correlation between CPR knowledge and attitude by way of education, Knowledge and confidence(r=.25, r=.40, r=.19). Dental hygienist had low level of knowledge and confidence toward CPR. It is important to educate basuc life support(BLS) provider program to the dental hygienist.
This study aims to investigate the improvement in basic CPR quality on the basis of the hip joint angle of the rescuer among students in the Department of Emergency Medical Technology who completed a basic CPR curriculum. In this study, we carried out a comparative analysis using SimPad SkillReporter and Resusci Anne® QCPR® to measure the quality of CPR (depth of chest compressions, full relaxation, compression speed, and more) on the basis of the rescuer's hip joint angle in accordance with the 2015 AHA Guidelines and conducted chest compressions and CPR 5 times in a 30:2 ratio. It was found that maintenance of the rescuer's hip joint angle at 90 degrees while compressing and relaxing the chest made a statistically significant difference in both the experimental and control groups. Moreover, this indicated that the closer the hip joint angle was to 90 degrees, the better was the quality of basic CPR. However, there was no significant difference in the hip joint angle, degree of CPR, depth of chest compressions, chest compression speed, chest compression and relaxation percentages (%), accuracy of chest compressions, hands-off time during CPR, and percentage of chest compression time (p > 0.05). Maintaining the hip joint angle at 90 degrees for basic CPR was not significantly different from not maintaining this angle. Nonetheless, good results have been obtained at moderate depth and 100% recoil. Therefore, good outcome and high-quality CPR are expected.
Recently, many companies have started to manage and support CoPs formally at the organizational level because of strategic usability of CoP. These companies are also seeking ways to motivate CoP members to actively participate in their groups. Accordingly, this paper proposes one way of increasing CoP activities by rearranging CoP members. In practice, active CoP members often lead their groups. Therefore, rearranging members can, eventually, be one method to motivate more individuals to participate in CoP activities. This paper first suggests a new approach in order to improve knowledge sharing activities at the organizational level based on rearranging members of current CoPs. Second, a mathematical model is presented which maximizes total BLS (Balanced Level Score) of company A with several constraints. Then a real world problem is changed to a popular problem, VRP to solve this problem. Third, the solution program was developed to find a meaningful solution.
