Precise Indoor Positioning Algorithm for Energy Efficiency Based on BLE Fingerprinting (에너지 효율을 고려한 BLE 핑거프린팅 기반의 정밀 실내 측위 알고리즘)

  • As Indoor Positioning System demands due to increased penetration and utilization of smart device, Indoor Positioning System using Wi-Fi or BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) beacon takes center stage. In this paper, a terminal location of the user is calculated through Microscopic Trilateration using RSSI based on BLE. In the next step, a fingerprinting map appling approximate value of Microscopic Trilateration increases an efficiency of computation amount and energy for Indoor Positioning System. I suggest Indoor Positioning Algorithm based on BLE fingerprinting considering efficiency of energy by conducting precise Trilateration that assure user's terminal position by using AP(Access Point) surrounding targeted fingerprinting cells. And This paper shows experiment and result based on An Suggesting Algorithm in comparison with a fingerprinting based on BLE and Wi-Fi that be used for Indoor Positioning System.

  • The popularization of smartphones in recent years has created a rich ground for online-to-offline (O2O) services based on location information. In the process of finding user locations in O2O services, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) beacons are widely used because the beacons are economical in many ways. The current BLE method does not specify the direction of user movement, but adding that information could enrich the user experience for various O2O services. This paper proposes a method that identifies the user movement direction through data analysis on data sets generated by a pair of BLE beacons. Also we demonstrate its implementation with examples of services that need the direction information of users in order to show the feasibility of the method proposed.

  • ICT 기술의 발달과 활용이 급속하게 증가하고 있는 상황에서 서비스와 시스템의 융합이 활발히 진행되고 있는 가운데 시간과 장소에 구애 받지 않고 스마트 폰을 이용하여 간편하게 이루어질 수 있는 결제시스템 방식에 관심이 늘어나고 있는 것에 대하여 여러 가지 IT기술들이 접목되어 시장에 나타나고 있다. 최근 주목받고 있는 기술로 BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy)기반인 비콘이 있다. BLE 비콘은 에너지 소모율이 적은 것이 가장 큰 특징이며 자동으로 사용자의 위치를 파악하고 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 비콘이 스마트폰 결제 시스템에 새로운 방식이며 혁신의 바람을 불러온 것은 사실이지만, 비콘 관련 연구 및 개발에서 블루투스 신호를 사용한다는 점을 바탕으로 거리의 정확도의 미흡함과 통신 도달범위가 크다는 것을 관련하여 보안의 위험성을 가지고 있다는 점이 문제로 지적된다. 본 논문에서는 BLE 비콘 결제의 전반적인 시스템을 분석하고 보안의 취약함을 도출하여 그에 따른 요구사항을 연구함으로써 결제시스템의 보안 취약점을 최소화 할 수 있는 대응방안을 제안한다.

  • Bluetooth low energy (BLE) beacon is an actively push-to-broadcast electronic signal and can be used for object identification. This paper uses such beacon-based identification and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies for the elder health management service system to simplify the user interfaces and steps for preventive elder care. In the proposed system, an elder's family member, caregiver, or medical worker can conveniently and quickly record daily health management information. Besides, through the statistics and analysis of the data on the back end of the system, it is helpful for the elderly to refer to the data of daily care management and future management trends. Similarly, it is also an essential reference data for system maintenance and the new preventive health care services development.

  • Worldwide casualties caused by earthquakes, floods, fire or other disaster has been increasing. So many researchers are being actively done technical studies to ensure golden-time. In this paper if a disaster occurs, use the IoT technologies in order to secure golden-time and transmits the message after to find the user of the accident area first. When the previous job is finished, gradually finds a user of the surrounding area and transmits the message. For national emergency information, OPEN API of Korea Meteorological Administration was used. To collect detailed information on a relevant area in real time, this study established the system that connects and integrates Crowd Sensing technology with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) Beacon technology. Up to now, the CBS based on base station has been applied. However, this study designed and mapped DB in the integration of Beacon based user positioning and national administrative address system in order to estimate local users. In this experiment, the accuracy and speed of information dif6fusion algorithm were measured with a rise in the number of users. The experiments were conducted in a manner that increases the number of users by one thousand and was measured the accuracy and speed of the message spread transfer algorithm. Finally, became operational in less than one second in 20,000 users, it was confirmed that the notification message is sent.

  • 스마트폰과 같은 모바일 기기의 발달과 함께 사용자의 위치에 기반한 다양한 서비스가 출현하고 있다. 그중 사용자의 위치를 기준으로하는 길안내 서비스가 가장 대표적이다. GPS에 기반한 실외 중심의 길안내는 다양한 비콘과 WiFi 등의 기술과 함께 실내에서도 길안내 서비스가 가능하도록 해주고 있다. 하지만, 상기의 사용자 위치에 대한 길안내 서비스는 거리에 대한 인식 단계가 세밀하지 못하기에 해당거리별 상세 서비스가 어려운 것이 현실이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 기존 BLE 비콘의 Immediate, Near, Far의 3단계 거리인식을 6단계까지 확장하여 보다 상세한 안내가 가능한 실내 길안내 서비스를 제안한다. 또한 편의적 기능을 위해 목적지 입력 및 길안내가 음성에 기반하여 구동될 수 있도록 구현하였다.

CRM using short range location based technology

  • In this paper, we propose the CRM service model for analyzing and managing location based data collected by Wi-Fi and BLE. As mobile devices became personalized, enterprises became interested in individual location, and location based mobile marketing started to stand on spotlight. Location based proximity marketing is developing along with contactless data transmission technology, and payment system that uses NFC, Beacon that utilizes BLE, as well as advertisement via Wi-Fi are being serviced. We suggest the model that mobile devices can be detected and identified by MAC address with the need of being connected to Wi-FI or Bluetooth interface. MAC addresses are not associated with any specific user account or mobile phone number. The idea is to be able to measure the amount of people which are present in a certain point at a specific time, allowing the study of the evolution of data analysis and offers effective information for decision-makings.

  • 기존의 자산관리 시스템으로 대규모 자산을 관리함에 있어 효율적인 RFID나 바코드 등을 이용한 방식들이 있으나 설치과정과 시스템 구성이 복잡하고 비용이 비싸 대중적으로 이용되지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Bluetooth Low Energy(BLE) 비콘을 이용하여 일상적으로 사용하는 모바일 단말과 웹 등을 이용하여 자산을 관리할 수 있는 경제적인 자산관리 시스템을 제안한다. 나아가, BLE 비콘의 신호 세기에 따른 측정 가능 거리를 분석하여 비콘의 활용에 대한 구체적인 수치를 제시하였고 경제적 측면에서 기존 시스템과 차별화하였음을 보였다.

  • Recent performed by recognizing a user's location, various services have been tailored focus on short-range wireless communication technology. A beacon in which is attracting attention as next-generation technology. Beacon is a terminal by utilizing the frequency of the non-audible area can not be bluetooth and human sending and receiving terminals and information, Apple recently iBeacon like a low-power Bluetooth (BLE; bluetooth low energy) based beacon showing a tendency to rise into the mainstream there. Services using a beacon is basically installs the terminal in a certain place indoor. It is characterized by providing the user the services to catch the user's position, even automatically take a separate action. Various types of location-based service provided by the target interior space began to attract attention. A variety of location-based services are provided in the interior space in order to be successfully deployed and provide guidance to the interior space, the movement route and the like are essentially required to build various types of information. In this paper, for efficient indoor positioning by varying the signal strength of the beacon in such areas were measured and analyzed.

  • Beacon enables one to measure distance indoors based on low-power Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology, while GPS (Global Positioning System) only can be used outdoors. In measuring indoor distance using Beacon, RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) is considered as the one of the key factors, however, it is influenced by various environmental factors so that it causes the huge gap between the estimated distance and the real. In order to handle this issue, we propose the adaptive ANN (Artificial Neural Network) based approach to measuring the exact distance using Beacon. First, we has carried out the preprocessing of the RSSI signals by applying the extended Kalman filter and the signal stabilization filter into decreasing the noise. Then, we suggest the multi-layered ANNs, each of which layer is learned by specific training data sets. The results showed an average error of 0.67m, a precision of 0.78.
