Analysis of forced convection in the HTTU experiment using numerical codes

  • The High Temperature Test Unit (HTTU) was an experimental set-up to conduct separate and integral effects tests of the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR) core. The annular core consisted of a randomly packed bed of uniform spheres. Natural convection tests using both nitrogen and helium, and forced convection tests using nitrogen, were conducted. The maximum material temperature achieved during forced convection testing was 1200 ℃. This paper presents the numerical analysis of the flow and temperature distribution for a forced convection test using 3D CFD as well as a 1D systems-CFD computer code. Several modelling approaches are possible, ranging from a fully explicit to a semi-implicit method that relies on correlations of their associated phenomena. For the comparison between codes, the analysis was performed using a porous media approach, where the conduction and radiative heat transfer were lumped together as an effective thermal conductivity and the convective heat transfer was correlated between the solid and gas phases. The results from both codes were validated against the experimental measurements. Favourable results were obtained, in particular by the systems-CFD code with minimal computational and time requirements.

  • In this paper a determination of the optimal segment sealing material for a tunnel under the Han river between the Sungsoo-dong, Sungdong-Gu and the Chungdaw-dong, Kangnam-Gu in the Bundang railway. The geological investigation results show that some fractured zones exist loca]]y under the northern boundary of the Han river bed, but the other regions consist mostly of hard rocks of good Quality in the tunnel excavation level. Also, a hign water pressure of $5kgf/cm^2$ and a flash inflow of river water due to old boring holes are expected during tunnel excavation. A combined type sealing material of EPDM gasket with expansional rubber is selected as a optimal segment sealing material for the Han river tunnel considering the geological and site conditions.

3D 프린터 PLA 출력재료의 최적 출력조건 (Optimal Printing Conditions of PLA Printing Material for 3D Printer)

  • The purpose of this study optimizes the conditions of PLA printing material for 3D printer. Deltabot type 3D printer is used. The ranges of printing temperature, printing speed, and infill density are $195{\sim}215^{\circ}C$, 10~70mm/sec, and 10~100% respectively. From the results of printing temperature, printing quality is almost same every printing temperature. From the results of printing speed and infill density, printing quality is excellent under 40mm/sec, and over 50% respectively. Surface roughness is $2.28{\mu}mRa$ at $205^{\circ}C$, 10mm/sec, 100%, and is $5.93{\mu}mRa$ at $205^{\circ}C$, 70mm/sec. Surface roughness is directly proportional to the printing speed, and is inversely proportional to the infill density. Objects fabricated PLA printing material adhere bed at room temperature.

하상(河床) 경년변화(經年變化)에 따른 수위(水位)-유량(流量) 관계곡선(關係曲線)의 해석(解析) -한강(漢江) 인도교지점(人道橋地點)을 중심(中心)으로- (An Analysis on the Stage-Discharge Relation Curve with the Temporal Variation of the River Bed -at Indogyo Station of the Han River-)

  • 본 연구에서는 하상이 경년별로 변화함에 따라 발생되는 수위-유량 관계곡선의 오차를 보완코자 현 하도상태에 대한 기준 수위-유량 관계곡선을 개발하여 일원화시키고, 과거의 하상상태와 경년별로 작성되어 왔던 수위-유량 관계곡선들과의 관계 및 수위, 단면적, 유속 등에 대한 수리기하학적 특성을 분석하였다. 연구의 대상지점으로는 한강 종합개발 사업 이후 하도단면이 크게 변화된 안도교지점을 택하였으며 개발 이후의 현 단면(1987년)을 동적평형 상태로 가정하여 분석을 진행하였다. 1987년도의 유량측정 자료를 이용하여 기준 수위-유량 관계곡선을 개발하고, 과거의 실측유량값을 현 상태하에서의 유량으로 환산하였을 때 얻어지는 수위(환산수위)와 과거수위와의 관계 및 환산유속과 과거유속간의 관계 그리고 수위-통수단면적 관계, 수위-유속 관계 등의 상관식을 유도하여 기왕의 많은 자료들을 앞으로도 활용할 수 있도록 상관해석 하였다.

남강의 지배유량에 대한 하도지형 및 수리 특성 분석 (An analysis on geomorphic and hydraulic characteristics of dominant discharge in nam river)

  • 하도지형, 하상재료 및 수리의 특성은 치수 및 환경적 측면에서 하천의 계획, 설계 및 유지관리를 위한 기초정보이며, 이러한 정보를 안정하도 설계에 활용하는 것은 아주 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 남강댐 상류 구간에 대하여 지배유량을 산정하고, 지배유량 유하시의 하도지형 및 수리 특성을 분석하였다. 또한, 화상처리기법으로 하상재료분포 특성을 분석하였고, 하상재료와 흐름저항의 상호관계를 평가하였다. 대상구간의 지배유량은 1.5년 빈도의 유량으로 산정되었고, 하천유형은 세그먼트 1과 세그먼트 2 구간으로 분류되었다. 또한 여울-소의 출현 빈도는 4.4로 나타났는데, 이는 연구 대상구간에는 하천횡단구조물이 없는 자연하천의 특성을 가지고 있기 때문이다. 지배유량 유하시 하상재료에 의한 흐름저항을 산정하기 위하여 수심-대표입경 비($h/d_{50}$)와 평균유속-마찰력 비($V/u_*$)의 관계를 분석한 결과, 자갈-호박돌-전석이 지배적인 하상재료인 구간에서는 Julien 공식이 적합한 것으로 평가되었으며, 자갈, 호박돌 및 전석이 지배적인 하천구간에서 면격자를 이용한 화상처리기법은 향후 하상재료 분석 시 쉽게 활용할 수 있는 방법임을 확인하였다.

유동층 연소로에서 유.무연탄 혼합 연소법을 이용한 국내산 저질 무연탄의 활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Use of Low-Grade Domestic Anthracite by Anthracite - Bituminous Coal Blend Combustion in a Fluidized Bed Combustor)

  • It has been studded that combustion and the production of air pollution of anthracite - bituminous coal blend In a fluidized bed coal combustor, The objects of thIns study were to investigate mixing characteristics of the particles as well as the combustibility of the low grade domestic anthracite coal and Imported h19h calorific bltununous coal in the fluidized bed coal combustor. They were used as coal samples ; the domestic low grade anthracite coal with heating value of 2,010kca1/kg and the Imported high grade bituminous coal with beating value of 6,520kca1/kg. Also, the effects of air flow rate and anthracite fraction on the reaching time of steady state condition have been studied. The experimental results are presented as follows. The time of reaching to steady state was affected by the temperature variation. The steady state time was about 120 minute at 300sc1h which was the fastest. It has been found that $O^2$ and $CO^2$ concentration were reached steady state at about 100 minute. It has been found that $O^2$ concentration decreased and $CO^2$ concentration increased as the height of fluidlzed bed Increased. It was found that splash zone was mainly located from 25cm to 35cm above distributor. Also, as anthracite traction Increased, the mass of elutrlatlon particles Increased, and $CO^2$ concentration decreased. As gk flow rate Increased,$O^2$ concentration decreased and $CO^2$ concentration increased. Regardless of anthracite fraction and flow rate, the uncombustible weight percentage according to average diameter of elutriation particles were approldmately high In the case of One Particles. As anthracite traction and k now rate Increased, elutriation ratio Increased. As anthracite fraction was increased, exit combustible content over feeding combustible content was Increased. Regardless of anthracite fraction, size distribution of Ued material from discharge was almost constant. Over bed temperature 85$0^{\circ}C$ and excess air 20% , the difference of combution efficiencies were little. It is estimate that the combustion condition In anthracite-bituminous coal blend combustion is suitable at the velocity 0.3m/s, bed temperature 85$0^{\circ}C$, the excess air 20%.

남강에 대한 하천분류체계의 적용 연구 (An Application of Stream Classification Systems in the Nam River, Korea)

  • 하천은 구간에 따라 하도의 지형학적인 특성이 다양하기 때문에 수리 및 하도 특성 평가를 위해서는 하천의 유형을 분류할 필요가 있다. 또한 하도 특성에 대한 정량적 평가체계는 하천 유형의 특성이 반영되어야 한다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 하천분류체계의 한국 하천에 대한 적용성을 검토하기 위하여 Rosgen의 하천분류체계와 Yamamoto의 하천분류체계를 비교, 분석하였고, 남강을 사례로 그 적용성을 검토하였다. 하천 지형학적인 측면에서 우리나라의 지방 및 국가하천의 평균하상경사와 종적 연속성을 고려하기 위해서는 하천 지형학적인 측면에서 Yamamoto의 하천분류체계가 적용성이 높은 것으로 판단된다. 또한, 하상재료의 측면에서 Rosgen 분류체계가 Yamamoto의 분류체계보다는 하상경사와의 상관성이 낮게 나타났다. 반면에 Yamamoto의 분류체계는 하상경사에 따른 토사분급 (수리분급)을 반영할 수 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 남강에 대하여 얻어진 결과에 의하면, Rosgen의 분류체계로서는 하상경사와 하상재료의 관계로서 하천유형을 분류할 수 없으나, Yamamoto 분류체계는 그 상관성을 입증할 수 있었다. 다만, 자연하천에 대하여 추가적인 적용성 검토가 필요하다. 하도 특성 평가체계에 적용할 수 있는 3개의 하천유형을 결정하여 제시하였다.

군 내무실의 실내공기질 개선을 위한 환기량 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Calculation of Ventilation Rate for the Improvement of Indoor Air Quality on the Barracks)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve indoor air quality of the barracks which have been changed from floor-type living barracks to bed-type living barracks since 2003. Therefore, the ventilation rates of newly constructed two type barracks were simulated with the various building materials including VOCs and HCHO components. And indoor air quality of two type living barracks was measured by the field experiments. With these steps, the measures for upgrading indoor air quality depending on building material types and ventilation rate are suggested.

가열원관군 주위를 유동하는 굴패각의 탈착과정에 대한 열 및 물질전달에 관한 연구 (Study on the Heat and Mass Transfer Characteristics of Oyster Shell Flowing through the Bundle of Heating Pipes)

  • This study is experimentally performed for using the oyster shell as a desiccant in the fluidized bed with bundle of heating pipe. The test material is oyster shell from fishery wastes which can use without costs. The main parameters of experiment are inlet air temperature, velocity of inlet air and heat flux of heating pipes. Also the geometry of heating pipe is treated as important parameter. From this study, the effect of inlet air temperature and input heat flux have much affect to increase the heat and mass transfer. On the other hand, the effect of inlet air velocity has less affect to increase the heat and mass transfer. And it is clarified that the oyster shell has sufficient probability for using as a desiccant in air-conditioning system.

  • The feasibility of a molten metal as a bed material of a pyrolysis system was investigated. The molten metal has various advantages such as high thermal conductivity, wide operating range and low viscosity. Tin was selected since its physical characteristics are suitable for the purpose. As a results, it was found that pyrolytic oil yield and reaction rate were significantly enhanced with the molten Tin. In addition, oxygen component of the product oil was decreased due to Tin oxidation.
