Correlation Analysis of the Dielectric Breakdown Voltage of Liquid Nitrogen (액체질소 절연파괴전압의 상관 분석)

  • We analyzed the correlation between breakdown voltage(BDV) of liquid nitrogen(LN2) and factors. The chosen factors affecting the breakdown are the diameter of electrode, gap length, temperature of LN2, and pressure of LN2. The BDV of LN2 was increased with increasing the diameter, the gap length and the pressure. And The BDV of LN2 was increased with decreasing the temperature. However, correlation coefficient was different from each other depending on the situation. The BDV exhibited a very high correlation coefficient of 0.92227 to dependence on the diameter. And a very high correlation coefficient of 0.94980 to dependence on the pressure under sphere(D 7.5 mm)-plane electrode. When the pressure is applied, sphere-plane electrode is the correlation coefficient was higher than that of the needle-plane electrode. It shows the dependence of a temperature coefficient of -0.758290 ~ -0.39946 under needle-plane electrode.

  • In this paper we investigated electrical properties for epoxy resin with improved mechanical property, elastomer epoxy. Investigated electrical properties are permittivity, tan $\delta$ and breakdown voltage strength(BDV). Permittivity and tan $\delta$ have dependancy on additive Quantity in general purpose epoxy resin. In particularly, those have very high values at low frequency and high temperature according to increasing component of elastomer. In case of BDV test, those materials have only a little difference due to increasing elastomer components. But in case of high quantities of elastomer, BDV has a difference. These results are represented that elastomer epoxy resin despite superior mechanical property needs many carefully thought as application electrical insulation.

Shape and Dielectric Strength of Thermal Bubbles in Liquid Nitrogen (액체질소 중 열기포 형상 및 절연 특성)

  • In this paper, we study the insulating properties of the liquid nitrogen(LN2) including the thermal bubbles. The shape of the thermal bubbles in accordance with the current change was observed in the 77 K and 65 K LN2. According to the temperature of liquid nitrogen, bubbles were generated differently. The round shape of the bubble is occurred in 77 K LN2. But the layer shape of bubble is occurred in 65 K LN2. When the bubbles present, the dielectric strength of liquid nitrogen is low. However, the breakdown patterns were different according to the electrode arrangement. AC breakdown voltage(BDV) was lower than the DC BDV due to the influence of bubbles. Therefore, the design of a high-voltage superconducting equipments should consider the bubbles.

  • The aim of this study is to find out the effects of thermal aging condition on dielectric strength and degree of crtstallinity of XLPE insulation. Thermal properties of XLPE insulation were investigated by DSC(differential scanning calorimetry) and dielectric strength were analyzed using AC BDV tester. Aging of XLPE samples were conducted through different four conditions. The degree of crtstallinity and AC BDV were changed by thermal history. From these results, it can be suggested that DSC and AC BDV test are suitable for diagnostic method of extra high voltage XLPE cable.

  • This paper presents the temperature effect of PET Film for insulation EHV Gas VT. We measured the Breakdown Voltage (BDV) and the Partial Discharge Initial Voltage(PDIV) for fresh and heated PET film. In this results, The BDV and PDIV of PET Film was affected by temperature variation and the number of PET Film. The PDIV and BDV of PET Film slightly increased for heating treatment increased as the temperature is increased. however, decreased over about $150^{\circ}C$.

  • High voltage MLCCs with C0G temperature coefficient characteristics could apply DC-DC invertor were investigated for its dielectric properties. Also we manufactured MLCC through various process and studied the characteristics of dielectric break down voltage [BDV] and dielectric property as the variation of thickness in the green sheet and how to pattern the internal electrode. As the thickness of green sheet is increase, the dielectric BDV per unit thickness is decreased. But as the pattern of internal electrodes were floated we could manufacture the high voltage MLCC maintained its dielectric BDV a unit.

  • In this paper, considerations on correlation between partial discharge and breakdown using void-simulated defect, investigating the characteristics of void discharges. For the purpose, the relationship between PDIV(Partial Discharge Inception Voltage) and BDV(BreakDown Voltage) was analyzed. As a result, it is noticed that the higher PDIV, the higer BDV.

Prevalence and genotypes of pestivirus in Korean goats

  • In total, 1,142 serum samples were collected from 223 goat flocks rising in five different regions of Korea. These samples were screened for the presence of border disease virus (BDV) antibodies using an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Of the 1,142 samples, we found 47 bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) positive cases (4.1%). These positive serum samples were also examined further by using the virus neutralization test against BDV. In addition, samples were tested for both BVDV and classical swine fever virus (CSFV). All of the samples that were seropositive for BDV also demonstrated positive antibody titers against BVDV and CSFV. Due to their common antigenicity, we also determined further the prevalence and carried out virus neutralization test against three pestiviruses: 314 of the goat samples were screened using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction with primer pairs specific to common pestivirus genome regions. Overall, 1.6% (5/314) of the samples tested was positive for pestivirus. Based on the nucleotide sequence data and the phylogenetic analysis, three isolates were characterized as BVDV type 1 and two isolates as BVDV type 2. However, none of the isolates could be classified as BDV. These results indicate that BVDV-1 and BVDV-2 are the pestivirus strains circulating among Korean goat populations.

  • Engine misfire causes of the negative effect on exhaust emission such as HC, CO, and NOX . Moreover, it causes damage to the three-way-catalyst(TWC) system permanently. The crankshaft velocity fluctuation(CVF) method has been applied for the real cars as misfire detection system usually, which utilizes the crank angle sensor input to calculate the variation of the crankshaft rotational speed. But this approach has the limit due to the fact that three could be problem under certain engine condition like as deceleration or high speed condition . Therefore the development of new methods are requested today. This study introduced the new method of misfire detection using breakdown voltage(BDV) characteristics between spark plug electrouds.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of hole or crack on the Insulation characteristics of a PET films for EHV(Extra High Voltage) VT winding. The hole or the crack in the PET films was made and the insulation characteristics of them were measured. Ad an experimental result, it was shown hat he PDIV(Partial Discharge Inception Voltage) and the BDV(Breakdown Voltage) of the PET films with hole or crack were lower than those without them, and were markedly dependent on their position and temperature. Therefore, the hole and the crack affected to insulation characteristics of PET films for SF$_{6}$EHV(Extra High Voltage) VT Winding.g.
