Erection Sequence Analysis of Suspension Bridge Considering to Sliding of Main Cable (주케이블의 슬라이딩을 고려한 현수교의 시공단계 해석)

  • Anchors and saddles are used to have sufficient geometrical rigidity and make target configuration of main cable of suspension bridge. Neglecting the sliding effect at saddles, points at them have been idealized as fixed nodes in lots of former studies. In general, sliding effects are reported to show significant structural behaviors of main cable and cause to the different responses of bridges. During early erection steps of the suspension bridge, especially, the sliding effect occurs easily because there is large difference of cable tension between main and side span in removing set-back ropes or not applying set-back. This study presents the finite element analysis considering to cable sliding effect and shows the comparison of differences between sliding and non-sliding at election sequence. The analysis of sliding between main cables and saddles needs to obtain more realistic responses because the analysis result can represent unfavorably different responses of bridges. Moreover, the sliding analysis method and results in this study can be used to basic criteria in engineering design and construction steps.

Research of Body Parameters Characteristics from Posture Analysis of Musculoskeletal Problem Patient (근골격계 통증환자의 통증유형과 체형진단을 통한 신체지표 관련성 연구)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is body parameters characteristics through posture analysis system of musculoskeletal problem patient Methods : Posture analysis system were performed for 164 patients to measure body parameters such as Q-angle, body inclination, neck inclination, PCMT(posterior cervical muscle tension), Knee flexion and posture balance. Statistical analysis using statistical analysis techniques and Pearson correlation coefficients was performed to assess the body parameters obtained by posture analysis system. Results : More than half of people out of 164 reported low back pain, 34.8% of the total was found to have neck pain. There was not a significant difference between genders from the characteristics of gender based body parameters expect for the statistical difference in Q angle, PCMT. There was a significant correlation between low back pain and multiple response status. There was a significant correlations between knee pain and Q angle. Also There was a significant correlations between pelvic pain and posture balance of ankle. Conclusions : Posture analysis system can be used to perform the analysis in place of X-ray measuring body posture and clinical parameters. The results of this study are expected to be the basis for further research on the clinical application of posture analysis system.

Review of the Large-Scale Clinical Researches on Acupuncture in Germany: ASH, ART, ARC, and GERAC (2000년부터 독일에서 수행된 대규모 침 임상연구들에 대한 고찰: ASH, ART, ARC, GERAC)

  • Objectives : The purpose is to introduce the recent large-scale clinical researches for safety, efficacy and effectiveness of acupuncture in Germany. Results : In 2000, the German Federal Committee of Physicians and Health insurer proposed that large research initiatives on acupuncture, Acupuncture Model Projects(Modellvorhaben Akupunktur), could be conducted by health insurance companies for several pain that acupuncture is syndromes to justify the insurance-based reimbursement. Accordingly, 4 clinical researches were carried out; the Acupuncture Safety and Health economics studies(ASH), the Acupuncture Randomised Trial(ART), the Acupuncture in Routine Care studies(ARC), and the German Acupuncture trial(GERAC). Meanwhile, ASH is a prospective observational study for safety and costs. ART and GERAC are composed of RCTs for efficacy. ARC includes 6 pragmatic RCTs with additional non-randomized cohort study for effectiveness. We investigated the papers related to them and discussed about the outcomes. The researches showed that acupuncture is effective in practice for several chronic conditions such as migraine, tension-type headache, chronic low back pain, osteoarthritis of knee, dysmenorrhea, and allergic rhinitis. Based in part on them, the German health authorities decided that acupuncture would be included into routine reimbursement by social health insurance funds for chronic low back pain and chronic osteoarthritis of the knee in 2006. Conclusions : The German clinical researches may suggest the clues for establishing the evidence of acupuncture treatment.

  • We were trying to study the validity of Puffer fish's poison(Tetrodotoxin- TTX) to make a traditional Korean Medical treatment. The following conclusions were made after literary studies. 1. The first record of the puffer fish dates back 2000 years ago in the Chinese text Book of Mountain and Sea and other texts from the similar period. 2. Puffer fish's poison IS known as tetrodotoxin which is an amino perhydroquinazoline compound. It has a chemical formula of $C_{11}H_{17}N_3O_8$ in the hemiacetal structure and has the molecular weight of 319. 3. Tetrodotoxin (TTX) plays a role as potent neurotransmitter blocker by blocking the $Na^+$ -gate channel which hinders the influx of $Na^+$ ion into the cell. 4. Symptoms of the puffer fish poisoning ranges from blunted sense in the lips and tongue, occasional vomiting in the first degree to sudden descending of the blood pressure, apnea, and other critical conditions in the fourth degree. Intoxication of the puffer fish poison progresses at a rapid pace as death may occur after an hour and half up to eight hours in maximum. Typical death occurs after four to six hours. 5. Ways to treat the puffer fish poisoning include gastric irrigation, induce vomiting, purgation, intravenous fluid injection, and correcting electrolytic imbalance and acidosis. In cases of dyspnea, apply oxygen inhalation and conduct artificial respiration. 6. Tetrodotoxin (TTX) may be applied in treating brain disorders, ocular pain, excess pain in the large intestine and ileum, and relieving tension of the skeletal museles, neuralgia, rheumatism, arthritis, and etc. 7. In terms of Oriental medicine, the puffer fish poison has characteristics of sweet, warm, and poisonous. It's known efficacies are to tonify weakness, dispel damp, benefit the lower back, relieve hemorrhoid, kills parasites, remove edema, and so forth. And the puffer fish eggs processed with ginger are said to be effective against tuberculosis and lung cancer, thus, it's validity must be investigated and further research should be followed.

Study on the Development of Reinforced Earth Retaining Wall (보강옹벽개발연구)

  • The design of fabric reinforced retaining wall structure was discussed in this article. It was confirmed that the reinforced retaining earth wall which was designed by new theoretical formulae developed this time was stable structurally and economically. The plastic fabric filter which was placed in layers behind the facing element reduced the lateral earth pressure on the wall elements in comparison with a conventional retaining earth walls. The reinforcing characteristics of earth wall was governed by the spacing of fabric layers, effective length of fabrics, particle distribution and compaction, and thus it is essential that, in the construction field, the reinforcing strips should be selected in order to develop the maximum friction forces bet.eon soil and fabric filters. The maximum tensile stress developed from the reinforcing strips was appeared at a little far distance from the back of skin element and it was not well agreed with the Rankine's theory but distributed well as a symmetrical shape against the point of the maximum tensile stress. The total length of the different layers should be sufficient so that the tension in the fabric strip could be transferred to the backfill material. Also the total stability of reinforced earth wall should be checked with respect to a failure surface which extended blond the different lathers.

A study on Palpation of the back-shu points (배유혈(背兪穴) 안진(按診)에 관(關)한 고찰(考察))

  • The diagnosis in Oriental medicine is done by inspection, auscultation and olfaction, interrogation, four diagnostics of pulse feeling and palpation, and various system of identification like identification according to Qi(vital energy), Xue and body fluids, identification according to fair principles, identification according to principles of Wei, Qi, Ying and Xue, identification according to Sanjiao(the triple heater), identification according to four type physical constitution. Sometimes, symptoms and diagnosis techniques according to symptoms is selectively applied for the diagnosis. Among them the pulse feeling and palpation diagnosis technique using the sense of finger and palm of the hand is divided into feeling of pulse and palpation and pressing maneuver. Pressing maneuver is a diagnosis technique pressing and rubbing the affected part in order to attain data of identification including inside and outside condition of the body with regard to the nature, condition and relative seriousness of disease. There are palpation of the skin, palpation the hand and foot, palpation the chest and the abdomen, palpation shu points in pressing maneuver. The diagnosis of the Back Shu points is a technique to examine the change of disease condition from pressure ache, spontaneous ache, tension, relaxation, solidification revealed through channels and collaterals. I investigates starting disease and an attack of disease of twelve pulse and pulse condition through the study relative to the substance and technique of pressing maneuver, and adjusts diagnosis techniques of a region for acupuncture and matters to be attended. The conclusions are as follows. 1. The Shu or stream points in which pathogenic factors go are important to medical treatment of dormant diseases like bowels disease, cold symptom complex and insufficiency symptom complex. 2. Disease classified by system is diagnosed by the condition of process part like pro-trusion, cave-in, tension, relaxation, pressure ache through palpating the Shu or stream points, that is pressing upward or downward left and right sides of the backbone process by hands. 3. In real clinic pressing maneuver of one's back side is very important to patient's diagnosis treatment. Thus, pressing maneuver of one's back side have to be done without omission. 4. Diagnosis must be accomplished through the perception about the diversity of diagnosis technique of bowels disease, the exact knowledge about pressing maneuver of one's back side for enlargement of treatment range and rising of treatment rate, and pressing maneuver of the Shu or the stream points.

  • One of the key issues in spatial structures with large spaces is how to carry the weight of the roof. This can be solved by the effective use of tension members. A cable dome structural system facilitates the construction of a large space structure. As external load increases, however, the cable dome structural system is put at risk due to global buckling. This study measures the shape of the Geiger and Flower-type cable dome by applying an initial stress. This unstable phenomenon is also examined using a perfectly shaped model and an imperfect model, which are both subjected to an axisymmetric load.

A Study on D.D.I. Load for Forming of the CNG Storage Vessel (CNG 저장용기의 성형을 위한 D.D.I. 하중에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a theoretical analysis method was suggested for predicting forming loads of continuous deep drawing and ironing processes (D.D.I. processes) by considering back tension and continuity equation, and FEA for D.D.I. processes was performed. Dimensions of a punch and a mold on the basis of design rules for a CNG storage vessel were applied for the analysis. To verify the suggested theoretical analysis, the results of theoretical analysis were compared with both those of FEA and experiments of previous studies. As the result of analysis, the values and tendencies of the loads predicted by the theoretical analysis were in agreement with those of FEA and the experiments. So, it is considered that the analysis suggested has reliability for predicting the forming loads of the continuous processes(deep drawing+ironing(1)+ironing(2)).

A PHOTOELASTIC STUDY ON THE INITIAL STRESS DISTRIBUTION BY 3 TYPES OF MOLAR UPRIGHITNG SPRING (3종류의 구치부 Uprighting Spring의 초기응력분포에 관한 광탄성학적 연구)

  • The aim of this investigation was to identify which suing is more suitable for uprighting of the 30 degree inclined lower second molar in different situations. Between four different molar uprighting springs which were A, B, C type and T-loop spring, the author tested T-loop suing as a control material and the other springs were experimental group. Each spring was fabricated from .017' $\times$ .025' TMA wire and preactivated with 40 degree tip-back bend. Stabilizing unit included from the lower right central incisor to the lower right second premolar which were made by acrylic resin. The photoelastic overview of the lower right quadrant showed that stress concentrations were observed in its photoelastic model. The obtained results were as follows. 1. Higher concentration of compression can be seen clearly at the distal curvature than the mesial of the lower second molar when A type uprighting spring was applied, which can be used as a space regainer. 2. Higher level compression was presented at the mesial root apex area than the distal of the lower second molar in B type uprighting spring, which can be used as a space closer. 3. Areas of higher compression and tension were observed about the mesial and distal root of the lower second moalr than A and B type in C type uprighting spring, which can be used as a partial space regainer.

  • The purpose of this study was to present the method to choose the optimization machining condition for the wire electric machine. This was completed by examining the ever- changing quality of the material and by improving the function of the wire electric discharge machine. Precision metal mold products and the unmanned wire electric discharge machining system were used and then applied in industrial fields. This experiment uses the wire electric discharge machine with brass wire electrode of 0.25mm. To measure the precision of the machining surface, average values are obtained from 3 samples of measures of center-line average roughness by using a third dimension gauge and a stylus surface roughness gauge. In this experiment, we changed no-node voltage to 7 and 9, pulse-on-time to $6\mu\textrm{s}$, $8\mu\textrm{s}$ and $10\mu\textrm{s}$, pulse-off-time to $8\mu\textrm{s}$, $10\mu\textrm{s}$ and $13\mu\textrm{s}$, and experimented on wire tension at room temperature by 1000gf, 1200gf, and 1400gf, respectively
