We estimated site productivity for unstocked land based on the relationship between site index (i.e., average height of dominant trees at fixed age) and soil physico-chemical properties of Pinus densiflora stands. Site index relates to a direct method of determining a tree's response to a specific environment such as forest soil and climate conditions. We selected 78 sites in 22 P. densiflora stands of central temperate forest zone, and sampled soils for physicochemical analyzing. And 13 properties of soils were statistically treated by stepwise regression. In the degree of contribution of the variables to site index, the highly effective variables in A horizon were OM, clay content, sand content, available $P_2O_5$, and Exch. $Ca^{{+}{+}}$ inorder, and in B horizon T.N., O.M., Soil pH, cation exchange capacity(C.E.C.), and sand content in order. In both A and B horizon of the soil for P. densiflora stands, the variables commonly contributed to the site index were sand content and OM. These results may be useful to provide not only important criteria for establishment of Pinus densiflora stand sespecially in unstocked land but also aguidance for reforestation.

Streptomyces lavendulae FRI-5 produces the ${\gamma}$-butyrolactone autoregulator IM-2, which is required for nucleoside antibiotic producetion. We have developed a system for introducing DNA into S. lavendule FRI-5 via conjugal transfer from Esherichia cole. Conditions were established for conjugation of the oriT-and attP-containing plasmid pSET152 from E. coli ET12567 (pUZ8002) to FRI-5. Conjugation resulted in integration of the plasmid at the chromosomal C31 attB site. The frequency of intergeneric conjugation varied with the medium used. The highest frequency ($1.6\times10-5$ per recipient) was obtained on ISP medium 2 containing 10mM MgCl2. Southern blot and phenotypic analyses of exconjugants revealed that S. lavendulae FRI-5 contains a unique C31 attB site, and that integration of heterologous DNA into the attB site did not interfere with morphological differentiation or IM-2-dependent signal transduction, including the production of a blue pigment. This system will now enable detailed genetic analysis of the regulation of antibiotic production in S. lavendulae FRI-5.

The substituted lithium ferrites combine useful ferromagnetic properties with high Curie temperature ranging from 55$0^{\circ}C$ to 85$0^{\circ}C$, [1] high saturation magnetization, [2] and low microwave dielectric loss.[3] Saturation magnetization of (Z $n_{1-x}$ F $e_{x}$)A[L $i_{0.5x}$F $e_{ 2-0.5x}$]$_{B}$ $O_4$ increased with zinc concentration, followed by a decrease at x = 0.7.[4] This is attributed to a dilution of the A-site with zinc which initially causes an increase in saturation magnetization due to the dominance of the B-site. Carbon-based doping to MgB₂ superconductor is the simplest approach to enhance the critical current densities under magnetic fields. Carbon quantum dots is synthesized in this work as a carbon provider to MgB₂ superconductors. Polyvinyl Pyrrolidone is pyrolyzed and dispersed in dimethylfomamide solvent as a dopant to the mixture of Mg and B powders. Doped MgB₂ bulk samples clearly show the decrease of a-axis lattice constant, grain refinements, and broadening of FWHM of diffraction peaks compared to un-doped MgB₂ possibly due to the carbon substitution and/or boron vacancy at the boron site in MgB₂ lattice. Also, high-field J_c for the doped MgB₂ is enhanced significantly with the crossover about 3 T at 5 & 20 K when increasing the doping of carbon quantum dots.

This experiment Was carried out under two points of view, from May 1st to the end of 1973. One was the comparative determination of the activation factor of Lead dioxide by kinds in measuring of Sulfur oxides concentration by $PbO_2$ cylinder method, and the other was the comparison that result with the record of auto analyzer. Five measuring sites were selected out of Seoul City. Three kinds of Lead dioxide made in Japan (B,C and D) were compared with Standard $PbO_2$ (A for use in Determination of Sulphur in the atmosphere, purity 99% up) made in British Institution, and monthly measuring was conducted at every sampling site. The recording by auto analyzer (Beckman Model 906-A $SO_2$ Analyzer) was conducted once or twice a month for 24 hours at each sampling site during the same period. And some significant results were obtained. 1. In comparative experiments to determine the activation degree of three kinds of Lead dioxide (B,C and D), the obtained correction factor of B reagent was 1.09, 1.16 in C and 1.30 in D against Standard $PbO_2$ (A). Therefore, it should be in need of standardization or clear statement about the reagents for use, in determination sulfur oxides by $PbO_2$ cylinder method. 2. Generally, the concentration of Sulfur dioxide by wilkins' convertion method from $SO_3$ showed about 20-30% higher than those by Auto analyzer.

The purpose of this study is to present the basic data for establishing the management plan of forest ecosystem in Honam-Jeongmeak and Geumnamhonam-Jeongmaek by surveying and analysing the vascular plants distributed in Jangansan(A-site), Palgongsan(B-site), Mandeoksan(C-site), Chuwolsan (D-site), Cheonunsan(E-site) and Jeamsan(F-site). The numbers of flora were 813 taxa including 115 families, 406 genera, 700 species, 4 subspecies, 94 varieties and 15 forms. There were 500 taxa in A-site, 427 taxa in B-site, 402 taxa in C-site, 449 taxa in D-site, 345 taxa in E-site and 524 taxa in F-site. The rare plants were 12 taxa including Paeonia japonica, Iris minutoaurea, Chloranthus fortunei and so forth. In IUCN Red List categories, there were 1 taxon of EN, 2 taxa of VU, 8 taxa of LC and 1 taxon of DD. The Korean endemic plants were 20 taxa including Salix koriyanagi, Thalictrum actaefolium var. brevistylum, Saussurea pseudogracilis and so forth. The specific plants by floristic region were 108 taxa including 58 taxa of grade I, 30 taxa of grade II, 16 taxa of grade III, 2 taxa of grade IV and grade V, respectively. The plants adaptable to climate change were 18 taxa including 11 taxa of southern plant and 7 taxa of northern plants. The naturalized plants were 49 taxa including Rumex nipponicus, Brassica juncea, Trifolium repens and so forth. The invasive alien plants were 4 taxa including Rumex acetocella, Solanum carolinense, Ambrosia artemisiifolia and Aster pilosus.

From Jan.1982 to Dec.1990, 77 patients with rectal cancer were treated with curative surgical resection followed by postoperative adjuvant irradiation alone or combined with chemotherapy at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Korea University Hospital (KUH). Fifty-four (54/77, $70.1{\%}$) patients underwent abdominoperineal resection , 20 (20/77, $26{\%}$) patients underwent low anterior resection, and 3 (3/77, $3.9{\%}$,) patients had wide excision only. Thirty-nine (39/77, $50.5{\%}$) received sequential chemotherapy (2 cycles to 12 cycles). The 5-year survival rate for the entire group was $43{\%}:\;78.2{\%}$ in B2+B3, $39.4{\%}$ in stage C1+C2+C3. Survival rates decreased with increasing penetration of the bowel wall by tumor and the presence of regional lymph node metastasis. Those patients survival who underwent an abdominoperineal resection also experienced a significant decrease in compared to low anterior resection ($23.1{\%}$ vs. $63.8{\%}$ in 5-year survival, p <0.05). Local failure occurred in 15 ($19.5{\%}$) out of the 77 patients overall, 1($5.3{\%}$) of 19 in stage B2+B3, and 14 ($24.1{\%}$,) of 58 in stage C1+C2+C3. Presacral area was most common site of local failufre (8/17, $47.1{\%}$). Distant failure occurred in 13 ($16.9{\%}$) of 77 patients. The most frequent site of distant failure was the lung followed by the liver, the bone, and the brain. Combined locoregional and distant failure occurred in 2 ($2.6{\%}$) of 77 patients. Pathological confirmation of perirectal fat and/or regional lymph node involvement resulted in a singificant decrease in survival and local control.

Bi-2223 초전도체계에서 석출물을 flux-pinning center로 이용할 수 있는지 가능성을 타진하기 위하여 $Bi_{1.8}$P $b_{0.4}$S $r_{2}$C $a_{2.2}$C $u_3$ $O_{8}$ 조성을 가진 Bi-2223/Ag 선재를 반응온도, 산소분압, 시간 등을 변화시키면서 열처리를 행하였다. 열처리 후 석출물들은 XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS로 분석하였다. Bi-2223 모상내의 (Ca, Sr)$_2$(Pb,Bi) $O_4$, B $i_{0.5}$ P $b_3$S $r_2$C $a_2$Cu $O_{12+}$$\delta$/ (3221)와 같은 2차상들의 크기와 분포는 2223 입자들의 연결성을 파괴하지 않고 열처리 조건에 의해서 조절할 수 있었다. 서냉 열처리가 된 시편은 임계전류밀도( $J_{c}$)값이 증가하였는데, 이는 2223 입자내 나노미터 크기로 형성된 석출물들이 flux-pinning sites로 작용한 것으로 추정된다.다.

As a result of their web sites about 25 food services, it shows that only 20% of food services are conducting transactions online. As a whole food services in general have mastered the basics of setting up a web site, and it is revealed that some web sites with high average score are using flash s/w, which has a considerable interest in graphic. Family restaurant is the highest in average score and icecream is the lowest. The best individual site is Tonyromas site of Family restaurant sector, the second best site is TGI Friday's of the same Family restaurant sector, the third Pizzahut of pizza sector, and the fourth Lotteria site of Fast food sector. It is suggest that this preliminary study could be advanced by extending the sample size and a program of more extensive statistical analysis by devising. Also it is shows that it is possible for B2B transaction and B2C transaction to be conducted more actively It is suggested that Pizza(60%) and Icecream(40%) of food products which are small in size and easy to be ordered and delivered can be feasible and successful in transactions online. In conclusion, it is very important to keep the contents of web sites up-to-date and attractive to customers, and to establish several ways which can enable customers to interact with food services to induce a dialogue with customers, and it is necessary to introduce new technologies for specific differences of their own sites.

Charcoal was used as a carbon source for improving the critical current density of $MgB_2$ and the effect of annealing temperature on the $J_c$ of $MgB_2$ was investigated. The charcoal powder used in this study was $1{\sim}2$ microns in size and was prepared by wet attrition milling. $MgB_2$ bulk samples with a nominal composition of $Mg(B_{0.95}C_{0.05})_2$ were prepared by in situ process of Mg and B powders. The powder mixture was uniaxially compacted into pellets and heat treated at temperatures of $650^{\circ}C\;-\;1000^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes in flowing Ar gas. It was found that superconducting transition temperature of $Mg(B_{0.95}C_{0.05})_2$ decreased by charcoal additions which indicates the carbon substitution for boron site. $J_c$ of $Mg(B_{0.95}C_{0.05})_2$ was lower than that of the undoped $MgB_2$ at the magnetic fields smaller than 4 Tesla, while it was higher than that of the undoped sample especially at the magnetic field higher than 4 T. High temperature annealing seems to be effective in increasing $J_c$ due to the enhanced carbon diffusion into boron sites.
