  • B cell has been identified as the sensitive cellular target responsible for 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) -induced immune suppression. In isolated cell systems, the differentiation of B cells into antibody secreting plasma cells is believed to be inhibited by TCDD. We also have previously demonstrated IgM secretion was suppressed by TCDD in LPS-activated murine B cell line, CH12.LX.(omitted)

  • To evaluate the effect of dose and image quality for Chest Digital Tomosynthesis(CDT) using sensitivity and tube voltage(kV). CDT images of the phantom were acquired varying sensitivity 200, 320, 400 according to set tube voltage of 125 kV and 135 kV. The dose and Dose Area Product(DAP) according to change of sensitivity and kV were evaluated and Image quality was evaluated by PSNR, CNR, SNR using Image J. Dose were lowered 14~23% less than sensitivity 200, 125 kV and DAP were lowered 13~26% less than sensitivity 200, 125 kV. PSNR were over 27 dB, which were significant value and CNR, SNR were better as sensitivity value was lower. But there were different statistical significant to each item. CNR and SNR were not statistically significant at sensitivity 320, 135 kV(P>0.05). CDT can improve image quality with lower radiation dose using better than quality and correction power at digital radiography system.

  • Labelling auflatoxines, the potential carcinogenic compounds, by radioactive iodine has been studied. The auflatoxine-$B_1$, which is known to be the most abundant components of auflatoxines in the nature, was labelled by radioactive iodine-125 through an acid catalyst chloroamine-T procedure. The radiochemical yield was amounted to 63.6%. The chemical structure of the labelled product was proved to be 6-iodo 5-methoxy coumarine structure of auflatoxine-$B_1$ molecule by means of I.R. and N.M.R. spectroscopy. The labelled product was orally administered in a test animal (Rat) and examined the accumnulation of radioactivity in the body at the definite time interval. The accumnulation of the radioactivity was pronounced at the blood and the liver. There was no indication of the decomposition of auflatoxine-$B_1-^{125}I$ in the organs of the test animal.

  • Nonlinear acoustic damping of a half-wave acoustic resonator in a combustion chamber is investigated numerically. First, in a baseline chamber without any resonators, acoustic behavior is investigated over the wide range of acoustic amplitude from 80 dB to 150 dB. Decay rate increases nonlinearly with acoustic amplitude and nonlinearity becomes appreciable at acoustic amplitude above 125 dB. Next, damping effect of a half-wave resonator is investigated. Nonlinear acoustic excitation does not affect optimum tuning condition of the resonator, which is derived from linear acoustics. A half-wave resonator is effective even for acoustic damping of high-amplitude pressure oscillation, but its function of acoustic damper is relatively weakened compared with the case of linear acoustic excitation.
