This study was conducted to investigate seed germination, seedling growth, and responses to herbicides of Bidens tripartita L. When the field-collected seeds were stored under a dry-room temperature, dry-low temperature, wet-low temperature, or dry-high temperature condition, no seeds were germinated in a growth chamber with 14 hr photoperiod up to 35 days after the storage. Exceptionally, however, some seeds stored under a wet-room temperature condition were germinated after 25 days of the storage. This might be due to the fact that the seed coats were damaged by fungi which developed during the storage. Seeds stored under a wet-low temperature condition (stratification) began to be germinated after 3 months of the storage and the germination rate increased with a prolonged stratification. Almost all seeds were germinated after 9 months of the stratification. These results suggest that the dormancy of B. tripartita L. seeds relate to the seed coat and thus several attempts were made to induce seed germination through damaging or weakening the seed coat. Freezing($-20^{\circ}C$), drying($100^{\circ}C$), or swelling($40^{\circ}C$) of the seeds was not effective to induce the germination. Treatments of concentrated sulfuric acid, $KNO_3$, or gibberellin to the seeds had no effect on inducing the germination. However, ethrel had a stimulatory effect on the germination of the seeds with an optimum concentration of 250ppm. A seed cutting was also effective to induce the germination, but seedlings from the seeds had cutted cotyledons. Germination of the stratified seeds varied with the temperature condition to which they were subjected, but not with light. The germination rate was the highest at 35 - $40^{\circ}C$. Although the seeds were not able to germinate under a submerged condition, seedlings after 2-leaf-stage exhibited better growth under a submerged or a subirrigated condition than under an upland condition. Among the herbicides tested, pyrazosulfuton-ethyl, linuron, and bentazone were found to be effective for controlling B. tripartita L., having more herbicidal effect with an earlier application.

This study was conducted to evaluate the physicochemical properties of pork loin marinated with a solution of Nan and sodium tripolyphosphate, and the sensory attributes of tomato sauce-stewed products using marinated loin. Pork loin samples were cut $(3{\times}3{\times}2cm)$ and assigned to 3 treatment groups [C; unmarinated control (100% distilled water), T1; 10% sodium chloride, T2; 10% sodium chloride + 3% sodium tripolyphosphate]. Samples were marinated for 24hr at $5^{\circ}C$. The uptake of marinade in the treatment groups was significantly greater (p<0.05) than that of C, however no significant difference between the two treatments was observed. Cooking losses were highest (p<0.05) for T1, while lowest (p<0.05) for T2. All marinated loins had a significantly higher (p<0.05) yield than the control. The pH of the marinade solution ranged from 7.00 for T1 to 8.47 for T2. The two marinated loins had a significantly higher (p<0.05) $pH_{24}$ than the control. The water holding capacity (WHC) was highest for T2, and lowest for T1. CIE $L^*,\;a^*,\;b^*$ tended to be slightly higher in the control than either treatment group. The shear force value $(kg/cm^2)$ of yaw meat did not differ between the control and marinated muscle samples. However, cooked meat had a significantly lower (p<0.05) shear force value in T2 than C and T1. Hardness values were significantly lower (p<0.05) for both treatments compared with the control. There were no differences in texture profile, except hardness, between the control and the two treatments. Regarding the sensory evaluation of tomato sauce-stewed products manufactured with marinated pork loin, the treatment groups scored marginally well in tenderness, juiciness and overall acceptability, while the flavor score of the control was significantly higher than those of T1 and T2.

Green tea seed coat (GTSC) was extracted with 100% ethanol for 4 hr and then fractionated with petroleum ether (PE), ethyl acetate (EtOAC) and butanol (BuOH). The EtOAC fraction showed the highest level in total phenol contents and the lowest level in nitric oxide (NO) production in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophage cell. Thus, this study was carried out to investigate the anti-inflammatory and its mechanisms of GTSC EtOAC fraction in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophage cell. GTSC EtOAC fraction contained EGC ($1146.48{\pm}11.01\;{\mu}g/g$), tannic acid ($966.99{\pm}32.24\;{\mu}g/g$), EC ($70.88{\pm}4.39\;{\mu}g/g$), gallic acid ($947.61{\pm}1.03\;{\mu}g/g$), caffeic acid ($37.69{\pm}1.46\;{\mu}g/g$), ECG ($35.46{\pm}3.19\;{\mu}g/g$), and EGCG ($15.53{\pm}0.09\;{\mu}g/g$) when analyzed by HPLC. NO production was significantly (p<0.05) suppressed in a dose-dependent manner with an $IC_{50}$ of $80.11\;{\mu}g$/mL. Also prostaglandin $E_2$ level was also inhibited in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, iNOS protein expression was suppressed in dose-dependent manner but COX-2 gene expression was not affected. Total antioxidant capacity and glutathione (GSH) levels were enhanced more than the LPS-control. Expressions of antioxidative enzymes including catalase, GSH-reductase and Mn-SOD were elevated compared to LPS-control. Nuclear p65 level was decreased in the GTSC EtOAC fraction in a dose-dependent manner. These results indicate that GTSC EtOAC fraction inhibit oxidative stress and inflammatory responses through elevated GSH levels, antioxidative enzymes expressions and suppression of iNOS expression via NF-${\kappa}B$ down-regulation.

In order to utilize dolomite as a calcium/magnesium compound material, it was prepared highly reactive calcined dolomite(CaO·MgO) using a microwave kiln (950 ℃, 60 min). The experiment was performed according to the standard of the hydration test (ASTM C 110) and hydration reactivity was analyzed as medium reactivity (max 74.1 ℃, 5 min). Experiments were performed with calcined dolomite and salt (MgCl2·6H2O) (a) 1:1, (b) 1:1.5, and (c) 1:2 wt% based on the hydration reaction of calcined dolomite. The result of X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that MgO of calcined dolomite increased to Mg(OH)2 as the salt addition ratio increased. After the separating reaction, calcium was stirred at 80 ℃, 24 hr that produced CaCl2 of white crystal. XRD results, it was confirmed calcium chloride hydrate (CaCl2·(H2O)x) and CaO of calcined dolomite and salt additional reaction was separated into CaCl2. And it was synthesized with Ca(OH)2 99 wt% by NaOH adding reaction to the CaCl2 solution, and the synthesized Ca(OH)2 was manufactured CaO through the heat treatment process. In order to prepare calcium carbonate, CaCO3 was synthesized by adding Na2CO3 to CaCl2 solution, and the shape was analyzed in cubic form with a purity of 99 wt%.
Objectives : This study evaluated activities and ingredient contents concerning extracts according to extraction solvents of Insampaedok-san (IS, Renshen bai du-san). Methods : The herbal constituents of IS were extracted with water and 70% ethanol at $100^{\circ}C$ for 2 hr. Using the HPLC system, the six ingredient contents of different solvent extracts of IS were analyzed. The nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$) production and proinflammatory cytokines were measured in RAW264.7 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The macrophage-derived chemokine (MDC/CCL22) and regulated on activation normal T-cell expression and secreted (RANTES/CCL5) production were measured in HaCaT and BEAS-2B cells stimulated tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$ (TNF-${\alpha}$) and interferon-${\gamma}$ (IFN-${\gamma}$). The activities of glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH) and leptin level were measured in 3T3-L1 cells. Results : The calibration curves showed good linearity ($r^2$=1.0000) for different concentration ranges. The contents of liquiritin, naringin, hesperidin, neohesperirin and glycyrrizin in 70% ethanol extracts of IS were relatively higher than that of water extract, however the content of ferulic acid in 70% ethanol and water extract of IS were similar. The extraction solvents of water and 70% ethanol were evaluated inhibitory effect on the production of NO, $PGE_2$, TNF-${\alpha}$ and IL-6 in RAW 264.7 cells. Their extractions were inhibitory effect on production of MDC/CCL22 and RANTES/CCL5 in HaCaT cell and BEAS-2B cell, respectively. In addition, evaluated reduced on GPDH activity and leptin level in 3T3-L1 preadipocyte cell. Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognize, facilitate, understand and control and utilize one's and other's emotions and has been researched extensively in last 20 years. Of the four domains of emotional intelligence, Emotional Regulation, the ability for one to manage and modify one's emotional reactions in order to achieve goal-directed outcomes, with its influence on authentic leadership and change oriented organizational citizenship behavior was researched by surveying 300 nurses at large metropolitan hospitals in B city in South Korea. Previous research demonstrated in relationship based and long term oriented cultures, such as Korea, Japan and Chinese cultures, ability to regulate emotions is critical component in successful social dynamics yet research the topic is minimal in Korea. Authentic leadership is a leader displaying sincerity and authentic behavior and through such, trust is gained in followers and collaboration is formed. Change oriented organizational citizenship behavior is a proactive behavior where the individual performs behaviors not included in his job functions voluntarily. The results indicate the three out of four sub domains of authentic leadership influenced positively to change oriented organizational citizenship behavior with the exception of balanced information processing. Moreover, Emotional Regulation partially mediated between authentic leadership and change oriented organizational citizenship behavior. Such results validated previous studies that indicated authentic leadership as possible antecedents of individual proactive behaviors and by examining authentic leadership and change oriented organizational citizenship behavior with emotional regulation as a mediator proved possibility as another potential antecedent of change oriented organizational citizenship behavior in hospital setting.

The inhibitory effects of Boswellia serrata (BW) extracts on degenerative osteoarthritis were investigated in primary-cultured rat cartilage cells and a monosodium-iodoacetate (MIA)-induced osteoarthritis rat model. To identify the protective effects of BW extract against $H_2O_2$ ($800{\mu}M$, 2 hr) in vitro, cell survival was measured by MTT assay. Cell survival after $H_2O_2$ treatment was elevated by BW extract at a concentration of $20{\mu}g/mL$. In addition, BW extract treatment significantly reduced and normalized the productions of pro-inflammatory factors, nuclear transcription factor ${\kappa}B$, cyclooxygenase-2, tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$, and interleukin-6 at a concentration of $20{\mu}g/mL$. Treatment of chondrocytes with BW extract significantly reduced 5-lipoxygenase activity and production of prostaglandin E2, especially at a concentration of $10{\sim}20{\mu}g/mL$. For the in vivo animal study, osteoarthritis was induced by intra-articular injection of MIA into knee joints of rats. Consumption of a diet containing BW extract (100 and 200 mg/kg) for 35 days significantly inhibited the development and severity of osteoarthritis in rats. To determine the genetic expression of arthritic factors in articular cartilage, real-time PCR was applied to measure matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-3, MMP-9, and MMP-13), collagen type I, collagen type II, and aggrecan, and BW extract had protective effects at a concentration of 200 mg/kg. In conclusion, BW extract was able to inhibit articular cartilage degeneration by preventing extracellular matrix degradation and chondrocyte injury. One can consider that BW extract may be a potential therapeutic treatment for degenerative osteoarthritis.

This paper described on a basic study to organize fishing vessel control system in order to control efficiently fishing vessel in Korean offshore. It was digitalized ARPA image on the fishing processing of a fleet of purse seiner in conducting fishing operation at Cheju offshore in Korea as a digital camera and then simulated by used VTMS. Futhermore, it was investigated on the application of FVTMS which can control efficiently fishing vessels in fishing ground. The results obtained were as follows ; (1) It was taken 16 minutes and 35 minutes to casting and hauling net in fishing processing respectively. The length of rope pulled by scout boat was 200m, tactical diameter in casting net was 340.8m, turning speed was 6kts as well. (2) The processing of casting and hauling net was moved to SW, NE as results of simulation when the current direction and speed set into NE, 2kts and SW, 2kts respectively. Such as these results suggest that can predict to control the fishing vessel previously with information of fishing ground, fishery and ship's maneuvering, etc. (3) The control range of VTMS radar used in simulation was about 16 miles. Although converting from a radar of the control vessel to another one, it was continuously acquired for the vector and the target data. The optimum control position could be determined by measuring and analyzing to distance and direction between the control vessel and the fleet of fishing vessel. (4) The FVTMS(fishing vessel traffic management services) model was suggested that fishing vessels received fishing conditions and safety navigation information can operate safely and efficiently.
Defatted rice bran is mixed with diluted acid solution, the mixture is agitated some hrs. at constant temparature. After the mixture is filtered, thus filtrate is obtained. This filtrate is phytin extract solution. (Test-1) The alkali is added to this filtrate and filtered out, then the precipitation of phytin is obtained. (Test-2) At the test-1, the effect of kind of acid, conc. of acid, amount of extract sol'n., time of extraction, temp. of extraction, to the extract amount of phytin is tested. Consequently, the following facts are known. 1. Amount of phytin extract is greater HCI extraction than $H_{2}SO_4$ extraction. 2. At 0.3% HCI, the amount of phytin extract is greatest of all HCl extraction. 3. The sufficient amount of acid solution is 8-10 times of amount of defatted rice bran. 4. The time of extraction at room temperature is sufficient 8-12 hrs. 5. When extract temperature is $20-30^{\circ}C$, the amount of phytin extraction is greater of all temp. 6, When defatted rice bran 20 g is shanken with 160 ml of 0.3% HCl for 10 hr. at room temp., in this case the amount of phytin extract is 11.34% of defatted rice bran, it is 93% of theoretical yield. At the test-2 the effect of kind of precipitation agent, degree of nutralization to the amount of phytin prcipitation is tested. 1. Degree of nut. is best at pH 6.8-7.0. 2. When use of $Ca(OH)_2$ the amount of phytin precipitation is more than use of KOH, NaOH, or $NH_{4}OH$. 3. At pH 6.0-7.2, the solubility of phytin is followed. K-phytate > $NH_{4}-phytate$ > Na-phytate > Ca-phytate 4. When phytin extract solution is nutralized with $Ca(OH)_2$ to pH 7.0, the amount of phytin precipitation is 94.78% of theoretical yield.
