  • Significance of the R16 Korea Contest as Culture Contents. Known for relentless practice and intense moves, widespread presence on the Internet, strong ethnic elements highlighting Korean physical attributes and collective culture, b-boying occupies a special place in Korea today. News of four consecutive wins in major b-boy contests around the world have changed the common public conception that b-boys are simply a group of problem boys and students in hip-hop clothes intent on showing off their dance moves. B-boying is no longer perceived as a dance that is performed in the shadowy underground but as a dynamic and beautiful art form of physical expression that is part of today's popular culture. This paper examines the significance of R-16 Korea as culture contents and its main event, the World B-boy Masters Championship. It introduces how the contest has developed since 2007 to reach popular influence and gain international recognition. The paper also compares R-16 Korea to the world's four major b-boy contests, Battle Of The Year, UK B-boy Championship, Free Style Session, and Red Bull BC One to see if any distinctions could be found among them and to evaluate the significance of R-16 Korea as cultural content in its rise to one of the world's top 5 major b-boy contests. Finally, this study makes suggestions for b-boying to become more established as part of Korea's culture contents.

  • The purpose of this study was to clarify the differences between the K-pop and B-boy dancers'characteristics based on the biomechanical variables through the isolation movement by independent variable t-test using spss 18.0. As a result, first, the CoM composite displacement of the K-pop dancer was larger than that of the B-boy(p<.05) in phase1 and phase2. Second, in phase2 and phase3, the movement speed of CoM was faster in K-pop dancer than in B-boy(p<.05). Third, in phase1, the planar angle between the body and pelvis was greater in the right planar angle of the K-pop dancer, while in the phase2 and phase3, the left planar angle of the B-boy was larger(p<.05). Fourth, the composite hip joint moments of B-boy were larger than those of K-pop in phase1, However, K-pop dancers showed greater moments in phase2, phase3 and phase4, and ankle joint moments in phase3(p<.05). Thus, even with the same isolation, we found that K-pop and B-boy dancers performed differently.

  • Hemophilia is an X-linked herediatry disorder. Hemophilia A is a defiency of factor VIII and hemophilia B (Christmas disease) is a deficiency of factor IX. The most widely used classification is based on plasma procoagulant levels, with people <1% factor defined as severe; 1 - 5% moderately severe; and >5% as mild. A 7 years old boy visited our clinic with chief complaint of impacted supernumerary tooth. This boy had severe hemophilia A. With the previous $ADVATE^{(R)}$ injection and factor VIII replacement, Extraction of supernumerary tooth was successfully done under General anesthesia. A 9 years old boy referred from local clinic for dental caries treatment. This boy had severe hemophilia B. With the preparation of $BeneFIX^{(R)}$ injection, dental treatment was done successfully under general anesthesia. It is often first detected by dental trauma. Since bleeding after dental treatment may cause severe or even fatal complications, people with hemophilia must be given special dental care. The treatment of the patients with either hemophilia A or hemophilia B involves the intravenous infusion to either control or prevent bleeding.

  • This study aims at providing useful fundamental information to re-establish the theories of modern fashion by examining the origination and genealogy of street style. The street styles focusing on caucasoid have a variety of genealogies such as western type, beat, teddy boy, hippie, skinhead, punk, neuron-mantic, indie kid, riot grrrl, grunge and techno cyber punk. In the same period, on the contrary, the streets styles focusing on negroid are zootie, hipster, modernist, rude boy, two-tone, rastafarian, funky, B-boy, fly girl, raggamuffine, bhangra, and acid jazz, which are seen as the culture of the large cities formed along Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean sea like England, America and Jamaica. These have root as the main fashion in western society. Ironically, most of the subculture concentrated on the whites were racists. Because of such a reason, the street styles have been formed as resistance culture that was unable to sympathize with their society and characteristics by distinguishing the whites and the colored people. Zootie or hipster that is one of the street fashion styles was formed in the 1940-50s, while the colored people who lived in the west Indies migrated to England or America. As a minimal modernist style called Ivy look in US, in that time, anti-culture formed by teenagers in whitey, teddy boy and mods fashion can be strictly different from the zootie and hipster. The colored people's street styles of the 1960s developed into aggressive and hard forms from the rude boy and two-tone while their resistance toward the whites was stronger. The rastafarian style researched the peak as the colored people's traditional ethnic characteristics or resistance intention for their freedom in the 1970s. In that time, The colored people's street styles of the 1960s developed into aggressive and hard forms from the rude boy and two-tone while their resistance toward the whites was stronger. The rastafarian style researched the peak as the colored people's traditional ethnic characteristics or resistance intention for their freedom in the 1970s. In that time, the street styles of the whites were mostly the skinhead or hippie. Most of them were racists toward the colored people. The punk type on shown on the whites focused on luxury and exaggerative costume. On the contrary, the funky style of the colored people focused on aggressive nihilism and form. With B-boy, fly girl, reggae, rap music, and break dancing in the 1980s, the subculture gradually told on the high fashion as well as the culture between the whites and the colored people. From such aspects, the colored people tried to maintain their unique traditional characteristics. However, their individual values surged by the coming young generation excluded the colored people's characteristic street styles. Focusing on gender, violence and private success among their major concerns, the raga muffin style that represents multi-races and multi-cultures was formed. The jazz style in the 1990s showed cold post-modernistic eclecticism different from that of the 1940s-50s. Simultaneously, the various classes appeared their street styles by emphasizing on each personality. Now that we are living in multi-cultural society, a human race or nationalism concept is getting obscurer. There is no obvious boundary line in the differences between human race and its fashion.

  • Recurrent macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) is very rare. We present the case of an adolescent boy with human leukocyte antigen (HLA) B27-positive ankylosing spondylitis (AS), who experienced episodes of recurrent MAS since he was a toddler. A 16-year-old boy was admitted because of remittent fever with pancytopenia and splenomegaly after surgical intervention for an intractable perianal abscess. He had been diagnosed with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) 4 different times, which was well controlled with intravenous immunoglobulin and steroids since the age of 3. We were unable to identify the cause for the HLH. He remained symptom-free until the development of back pain and right ankle joint pain with swelling at 15 years of age. He was diagnosed with HLA B27-positive AS with bilateral active sacroiliitis. He showed symptom aggravation despite taking naproxen and methotrexate, and the symptoms improved with etanercept. On admission, his laboratory data showed leukopenia with high ferritin and triglyceride levels. Bone marrow biopsy examination showed histiocytic hyperplasia with hemophagocytosis. There was no evidence of infection. He received naproxen alone, and his symptoms and laboratory data improved without any other immunomodulatory medications. Genetic study revealed no primary HLH or inflammasome abnormalities. In this case, underlying autoimmune disease should have been considered as the cause of recurrent MAS in the young patient once primary HLH was excluded.

  • Parvovirus B19(PV B19) is a nonenveloped single-stranded DNA virus that causes a wide variety of diseases ranging from benign childhood infection such as slapped-cheek rash(fifth disease) to life threatening diseases such as hydrous fetalis in fetuses or aplastic anemic crises in patients with hemolytic anemia. In immunocompromised hosts including organ transplant recipients, this infection can cause chronic anemia. Recently, the reports of cases of PV B19 infection have been increasing in transplant recipients and most reported cases of PV B19 infection-associated anemia in renal transplant recipients were successfully treated with intravenous immunoglobulin infusion. We experienced two cases of aplastic anemia caused by PV B19 infection in pediatric renal transplant recipients. The patients were an 8 year-old boy and 12-year-old boy who received allograft kidneys from their mothers. Anemia developed 2 weeks after transplantation and their serum was positive for PV B19 PCR. They were treated with 400 mg/kg of intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG) for 5 consecutive days. In one of the case, anemia was corrected promptly after the first 5-day course of IVIG therapy but in the other, anemia persisted but responded to the second course of IVIG therapy. One year later, the patients have normal hematocrit levels and stable renal function These are the first cases of PV B19 infection treated successfully with IVIG in pediatric renal transplant recipients in Korea. • The purpose of this case study is to analyze the characteristics of social interaction according to gender-grouping in the application of LTTS program. For this study, mixed-gender group A (one boy and three girls or one girl and three boys), mixed-gender group B (two boys and two girls) and same-gender group (4 boys or 4 girls) were formed. Social interactions during group discussions were audio-/video-taped. Social interactions between one boy and one girl in each group were analyzed. The type of social interactions were classified as cognitive and affective interactions. The boy and the girl in the same gender group tended to make suggestion actively, but sometimes they ordered peers to participate or prevented peers from participating. On the other hand, they didn't tend to make suggestion about problem-solving in mixed-gender group A, but made suggestion against peer's opinion using appropriate reasons. The frequency of affective interactions in the mixed gender group B were higher.

  • This study investigated the effects of variations in the kinetic structure on science knowledge acquisition. According to the rationale of the kinetic structure theory, a communication having high structrue would facilitate greater knowledge acquisition than a presentation with low structure. To testify that hypothesis, a modified non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design was used. Four 10th grade classes (2 classes for each sex) were selected. On the topic of human digestive system, two tape recorded lessons differing in kinetic structure were developed. On n of two was high structure ($\bar{B}_{1}$=0.56), and the other was low structrue ($\bar{B}_{1}$=0.99) Results indicated that the high structure lesson did not show significantly higher score than the low structrue lesson(F=2.225, P<0.137). But when the data were analyzed by sex, only boy students showed the result that the high structure lesson had significantly higher score than the low structure lesson (F=4.785, P<0.009). The results of this study suggest that a high Structure communication will facilitate the science achievement in the case of boy students.
