LARS-WG 기후자료를 이용한 금호강 유역 모의발생 벼 생산량의 불확실성 (Uncertainty of Simulated Paddy Rice Yield using LARS-WG Derived Climate Data in the Geumho River Basin, Korea)

  • This study investigates the trends and uncertainty of the impacts of climate change on paddy rice production in the Geumho river basin. The Long Ashton Research Station stochastic Weather Generator (LARS-WG) was used to derive future climate data for the Geumho river basin from 15 General Circulation models (GCMs) for 3 Special Report on Emissions Scenarios (SRES) (A2, A1B and B1) included in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 4th assessment report. The Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) AquaCrop, a water-driven crop model, was statistically calibrated for the 1982 to 2010 climate. The index of agreement (IoA), prediction efficiency ($R^2$), percent bias (PBIAS), root mean square error (RMSE) and a visual technique were used to evaluate the adjusted AquaCrop simulated yield values. The adjusted simulated yields showed RMSE, NSE, IoA and PBIAS of 0.40, 0.26, 0.76 and 0.59 respectively. The 5, 9 and 15 year central moving averages showed $R^2$ of 0.78, 0.90 and 0.96 respectively after adjustment. AquaCrop was run for the 2020s (2011-2030), 2050s (2046-2065) and 2090s (2080-2099). Climate change projections for Geumho river basin generally indicate a hotter and wetter future climate with maximum increase in the annual temperature of $4.5^{\circ}C$ in the 2090s A1B, as well as maximum increase in the rainfall of 45 % in the 2090s A2. The means (and ranges) of paddy rice yields are projected to increase by 21 % (17-25 %), 34 % (27-42 %) and 43 % (31-54 %) for the 2020s, 2050s and 2090s, respectively. The A1B shows the largest rice yield uncertainty in all time slices with standard deviation of 0.148, 0.189 and $0.173t{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ for the 2020s, 2050s and 2090s, respectively.

초음파를 이용한 농산물의 건조특성 분석 (Estimation of Agricultural Produce Drying Using Ultrasonic)

  • 본 연구는 국내에서 사용되는 건조방법 (열풍, 마이크로웨이브, 진공 등)으로는 물리적 한계에 의해 건조소요에너지, 품질 저하 및 건조속도의 한계 등이 새로운 건조방식의 요구를 만족 시켜주지 못하므로, 비가열 건조를 위해 실험용 초음파 건조기를 개발하였다. 건조조건은 4수준으로 하였으며, No. 1은 초음파 및 열풍 없이 외기, No. 2는 초음파만, No. 3은 열풍만, No. 4는 초음파 및 열풍으로 총 4가지 조건으로 당근 및 인삼 절편을 건조기 내에서 30분간 건조를 하였으며, 전 후의 중량을 측정하여 건조정도를 판단하였다. 초음파 및 열풍으로 건조한 No. 4가 건감율이 가장 높았으며, 당근 절편의 건감율은 22.4% (w.b.)/h 및 인삼 절편은 3.8%(w.b.)/h로 나타났으며, 건조물의 변색 및 절편의 뒤틀림은 거의 열풍만으로 건조한 No. 3과 거의 비슷한 정도로 나타났다.

Effects of Cholecystokinin Octapeptide on Neuronal Activities in the Rat Nucleus Tractus Solitarius

  • Cholecystokinin (CCK) is a gastrointestinal hormone which plays an important role in satiety and gastric motility. It is also widely distributed throughout the central nervous system, where it appears to be involved in the central control of anxiety, feeding behavior and nociception. Two distinct CCK receptor types, $CCK_A$ and $CCK_B,$ have been found in the brain. Both CCK receptors coexist in the rat nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS), which is the primary center for the coordination of peripheral and central activities related to gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and respiratory functions. In order to study ionic actions of CCK on each type of receptor, we investigated the effects of CCK-8S on neurons located in the NTS of the rat using whole-cell patch-clamp recordings in brainstem slices. Application of CCK-8S, under current clamp, produced a membrane depolarization accompanied by action potential firing. This CCK-evoked excitation was dose-dependent $(10\;nM{\sim}10\;{\mu}M)$ and observed in more than 60% of NTS neurons. Under voltage clamp conditions, CCK-8S induced an inward current with a notably increased spontaneous excitatory synaptic activity. However, CCK-8S did not significantly change the amplitude of pharmacologically isolated and evoked EPSP(C)s. Using selective $CCK_A$ and $CCK_B$ receptor antagonists, we observed two different effects of CCK-8S, which suggest $CCK_A$ receptor-mediated inhibitory and $CCK_B$ receptor-mediated excitatory effects in the NTS. These results may help to explain the ability of CCK to modulate gastrointestinal and other reflex systems in the NTS.

경인지역 초등학교 주변 어린이 기호식품의 미생물 오염도 및 보존료 검사 (Analysis of Microbial Contamination and Preservatives in Children's Favorite Foods Around Elementary Schools in Gyeonggi and Incheon)

  • 경인지역 초등학교 주변의 문구점과 소형 식품점에서 판매중인 조미건어포류, 빵 및 과자류, 소시지류, 당류가공품류 및 만두를 대상으로 안전성을 평가하기 위해 미생물의 오염도와 식품보존료 사용의 유무 및 함량을 조사${\cdot}$분석하였다. 총호기성균은 만두에서 가장 높은 평균 $4.81\;log_{10}\;CFU/g$의 오염도를 보였으며 그 범위는 $1.40\~6.91\;log_{10}\;CFU/g$로 높은 오염수준을 나타냈다. 대장균군은 빵 및 과자류와 조미건어포류에서 높은 오염수준인 3.73과 $5.10\;log_{10}\;CFU/g$ 오염도를 보였으며 최대 $6.60\;1og_{10}\;CFU/g$까지 검출된 제품이 있었다. S. aureus는 검사 대상 5 제품 모두에서 검출되었고 이 중 만두에서 가장 높은 $100\%(1.18\~3.31\;log_{10}\;CFU/g)$의 검출율을 보였다. B. cereus는 빵 및 과자류와 만두에서는 불검출되었고, 조미건어포류, 소시지류 및 당류가공품류에서만 각각 $20.51\%(0.70\~2.48\;log_{10}\;CFU/g)$, $50\%(0.70\;log_{10}\;CFU/g)$$11.11\%(0.30\;log_{10}\;CFU/g)$의 검출률을 보였다. E. coli와 Salmonella spp.는 모든 제품에서 검출되지 않았다. 식품보존료는 15개 제품 중 조미건어포류의 4개 제품만이 보존료의 사용 표시가 되었으나 이들 4개 제품을 포함한 13개 제품에서 보존료가 검출되지 않았으며 조미건어포류에 속하는 한 개 제품에서는 표시기준에 의거 표시된 소르빈산 $0.02\%$보다 15배$(0.30\%)$ 높은 검출결과가 나왔다. 결론적으로 경인지역 초등학교주변에서 판매되고 있는 식품은 식품의 제조단계에서부터 유통, 판매에 이르기까지 안전을 위한 관리방안이 조속히 수립되어야 한다.

H.264/AVC 복호화기의 복잡도 감소를 위한 선택적 B 슬라이스 복호화 스킵 방법 (Selective B Slice Skip Decoding for Complexity Scalable H.264/AVC Video Decoder)

  • 임베디드 프로세서의 발달로 인해 휴대 단말을 이용한 동영상의 실시간 재생이 가능하게 되었으나, 휴대 단말의 제한된 배터리와 낮은 프로세서의 연산 능력을 고려할 때 고화질 및 고해상도 동영상의 실시간 복호화 구현에는 아직 어려움이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 기존에 연구되었던 복호화 요소들의 연산 복잡도를 조절하여 비디오 복호화기의 복잡도를 조절하는 방법들을 사용할 수는 있으나 부/복호화기 사이의 연산 과정의 불일치에 의한 에러 전파로 객관적 화질이 크게 떨어 지는 문제점이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 저 복잡도 비디오 복호화기를 달성하기 위해 B 슬라이스의 선택적인 복호화 스킵 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 B 슬라이스를 복호화 하기에 앞서 특정 조건을 만족하는지 여부를 판단하여 해당 B 슬라이스의 선택적 복호화 스킵을 결정하고, 복호화 스킵일 경우 주변 복호화 된 참조 화면들을 사용하여 해당 B 슬라이스를 매우 간략한 방법으로 복원한다. 실험 결과를 통해 제안 방법은 복호화기의 복잡도를 감소시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 움직임 끊김 현상을 효과적으로 제거함으로써 동영상의 재생 시 주관적 화질이 크게 떨어지지 않음을 확인할 수 있다.

Meat Quality of Loin and Top Round Muscles from the Hanwoo and Holstein Veal Calves

  • This study was conducted to compare the meat qualities of loin (m. longissimus dorsi) and top round (m. semimembranosus) from Hanwoo and Holstein veal. Ten Hanwoo and Holstein calves were randomly selected from a local cattle farm and raised. They were slaughtered when they were 8 mon old and weighed. Weight and percentage in primal cuts and slaughter performance of Hanwoo and Holstein veal calves are obtained. Immediately after weighting, slices of loin and top round muscles were sampled. After vacuum packaging, the samples were subjected to proximate composition, physicochemical and microbiological analyses. Dressing weight and percentage were heavier and greater (p<0.05) in the Holstein than in the Hanwoo. Water contents of the top round muscle was higher in the Holstein than in the Hanwoo (p<0.05). Water-holding capacity, protein content and CIE L* (lightness) of both muscles were higher in the Holstein than in the Hanwoo veal, whereas fat content, pH, cooking loss, a* (redness), and b* (yellowness) were higher in the Hanwoo than in the Holstein veal (p<0.05). Thiobarbituric acid and volatile basic nitrogen values of both the muscles were lower in the Hanwoo than in the Holstein veal during the first 10 d of storage (p<0.05).

3D Non-Rigid Registration for Abdominal PET-CT and MR Images Using Mutual Information and Independent Component Analysis

  • The aim of this study is to develop a 3D registration algorithm for positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) images acquired from independent PET/CT and MR imaging systems. Combined PET/CT images provide anatomic and functional information, and MR images have high resolution for soft tissue. With the registration technique, the strengths of each modality image can be combined to achieve higher performance in diagnosis and radiotherapy planning. The proposed method consists of two stages: normalized mutual information (NMI)-based global matching and independent component analysis (ICA)-based refinement. In global matching, the field of view of the CT and MR images are adjusted to the same size in the preprocessing step. Then, the target image is geometrically transformed, and the similarities between the two images are measured with NMI. The optimization step updates the transformation parameters to efficiently find the best matched parameter set. In the refinement stage, ICA planes from the windowed image slices are extracted and the similarity between the images is measured to determine the transformation parameters of the control points. B-spline. based freeform deformation is performed for the geometric transformation. The results show good agreement between PET/CT and MR images.

  • 가을철 가지뽕 수확 후 가지의 절단부위 가운데 건증상을 띤 병$에서 Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora가 분리 동정되었다. 1)본 세균은 간장으로 4-8개의 주성모를 가진 0.4-0.8$\times$1.66-2.25$\mu\textrm{m}$ 크기의 임의혐기성 세균으로 감자,당근 절편을 $폐시키고 뽕나무에 강한 병워성을 갖고 있다. 2)King's B배지에서 난백색 균총을 형성하고 Gram 및 Inositol test 결과 음성반응, Pectin을 분해, Gelatin을 액화시켰다. 3)본 세균은 분류학적 특성이 Erwinia carotovora suasp. carotovora와 일치하였으며 일본에서 1978년에 보고된 바 있으나 국내 미기록 세균이다.

A Cross-Layer Unequal Error Protection Scheme for Prioritized H.264 Video using RCPC Codes and Hierarchical QAM

  • We investigate the rate-compatible punctured convolutional (RCPC) codes concatenated with hierarchical QAM for designing a cross-layer unequal error protection scheme for H.264 coded sequences. We first divide the H.264 encoded video slices into three priority classes based on their relative importance. We investigate the system constraints and propose an optimization formulation to compute the optimal parameters of the proposed system for the given source significance information. An upper bound to the significance-weighted bit error rate in the proposed system is derived as a function of system parameters, including the code rate and geometry of the constellation. An example is given with design rules for H.264 video communications and 3.5-4 dB PSNR improvement over existing RCPC based techniques for AWGN wireless channels is shown through simulations.

  • Purpose: We developed the software for diffusion tensor imaging and evaluated its feasibility in norm brains. Method: Five normal volunteers, aged from 25 to 29 years, were examined on a 1.5 T MR system. the diffusion tensor pulse sequence used a SE-EPI with 6 diffusion gradie directions of (1, 1, 0), (-1, 1,0), (1, 0, 1), (-1, 0, 1), (0, 1, 1), (0, 1, -1) and also with no diffusion gradient. A b-factor of 500 sec/mm2 was used. Measurement parameter were as follows; TR/TE=10000 ms/99 ms, FOV=240 mm, matrix=128$\times$128, slice thickness/gap=6 mm/0 mm, bandwidth=91 kHz and the number of total slices=20. Four repeated axial diffusion images were averaged for diffusion tensor imaging. A total scan 11 of 4 min 30 sec was used. Six full diffusion tensor components of Dxx, Dyy, Dzz, Dxy, Dxz and Dyz were obtained using two-point linear regression model from 7 diffusion-weight images at each pixel and fractional anisotropy and lattice index images was estimated fr their eigenvectors and eigenvalues. Our program was written on a platform of IDL. W evaluated the qualities of fractional anisotropy and lattice index images of normal brains a knew whether our software for diffusion tensor imaging may be feasible.
