액체로켓엔진 연소실에서의 상온 음향 시험 (Acoustic Tests on Atmospheric Condition in a Liquid Rocket Engine Chamber)

  • Acoustic characteristics of unbaffled and baffled combustion chamber are experimentally investigated under atmospheric condition to preliminarily determine baffle for mitigation of combustion instability. To investigate the effect of the baffle which has several configurations such as radial baffles and hub/blade baffle, resonant-frequency shift and damping factors of the chamber were analyzed and compared quantitatively with those of the unbaffled combustion chamber. From a view of acoustic characteristics, radial baffles with several configurations have not much difference in resonant-frequency shift and damping factor ratio with each other. On the other hand, hub and blade baffle is very effective to suppress the first tangential mode which was found to be the most harmful acoustic mode in KSR(Korean Sounding Rocket)-III engine. But more study on design parameters such as hub size and axial length should be done for complete optimization of hub and blade baffle. The present study based on linear acoustic analysis is expected to be a useful confirming tool to predict acoustic field and design a passive control devices such as baffle and acoustic cavity.

초음파 금속 용착용 반파장 혼의 설계 (A Horn of Half-Wave Design for Ultrasonic Metal Welding)

  • Ultrasonic metal welding is one of the welding methods which welds metal by applying high frequency vibrational energy into specific area at constant pressure, avaliable in room temperature and low temperature. Ultrasonic metal welder is consisted of power supply, transducer, booster, and horn. Precise designing is required since each parts' shape, length and mass can affect driving frequency and vibration mode. This paper focused to horn design, its length L was set to 62mm by calculating vibration equation. By performing modal analysis with various shape variable b times integer, when length of b is 30mm the output was 39,599Hz at 10th mode. Also by performing harmonic response analysis, the frequency response result was 39,533Hz, which was similar to modal analysis result. In order to observe the designed horn's performance, about 4,000 voltage data was obtained from a light sensor and was analyzed by FFT analysis using Origin Tool. The result RMS amplitude was approximately 8.5${\mu}m$ at 40,000Hz, and maximum amplitude was 12.3${\mu}m$. Therefore, it was verified that the ultrasonic metal welding horn was optimally designed.

  • An efficient time-domain numerical method for the analysis of broadband noise generation and propagation due to turbulence-cascade interaction is developed. The core algorithm of the present method is based on the B-periodicity of the acoustic response function of the flat-airfoil cascade to the ingesting gust (B denotes the number of airfoils in the cascade). To confirm this periodicity, gust-cascade interaction problem are solved by using the time-domain method, which shows that the incident gust with the circumferential mode number having the same remainders when divided by the airfoil number excites the same acoustic response of the cascade. Using the proposed fast algorithm with this periodicity, we show that the total computation time for the model broadband problem using the total 525 incident gust modes can be reduced to about 1/4 of that taken in using the previous time-domain program.

  • This paper describes the multichannel combined R2MFC/DTMF/CCT reciver which provides a signaling service functions for call processing control in digital switching system. Using the TMS320C25 DSP chip, we have implemented multi-function receriver shich processes 8 channels of R2MFC, DTMF, and CCT signals simultaneously. In order to increase the channel multiplicity of the combined receiver. R2MFC and CCT receiver were employed by discrete Fourier transform(DFT) method using Goertzel algorithm, and DTMFreceiver was employ by infinite impulse reponse(IIR) filtering method using 4KHz subsampling technique. The combined receiver has 4 function modes for each channel such as R2MFC, DTMF, CCT, and Idle modes. The function mode of each channel may be selected at any time by single-chip micro-controller(.mu.C). Hence, the number of channels assigned for each function mode can be adjusted dynamically according to the signaling traffic variations. From the experimental test results using the test-bed, it has been proved that the combined receiver statisfies all receiver satisfies all receiver specifications, and provides good channel multiplicity and performance, Therefore, it may give a great improvement than existing receiver in cost, reliability, availability, and serviceability.

저전력소모2.4 GHz 송수신 MMIC (A Low Power Consumption 2.4 GHz Transceiver MMIC)

  • 저전력으로 동작하고 24리드 SSOP에 실장할 수 있는 2.4 GHz 송수신 MMIC를 1.0㎛ 이온주입 MESFET공정으로 제작하였다. 이MMIC는 송신모드일 때 2.44 GHz에서 3.9 mA의 전류를 소모하였으며 이때 변환이득은 7.5㏈, 출력 IP3는 -3.5 ㏈, 잡음지수는 3.9㏈이었다. 수신모드일 때는 소모전류 2.0mA로 전압검출도 6.5 mV/μW를 나타내었다. 그동안 발표된 다른 MMIC가 우수한 성능을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었으며 2.4 GHz의 ISM 대역에서 간단한 방식의 무선랜, WLL, RFID 등으로 응용될 것이 기대된다.

  • 저손실의 단일모드 $Al_{0.042}Ga_{0.958}As/GaAs/Al_{0.042}Ga_{0.958}As$ strip-loaded 도파로들이 유효굴절률 방법으로 설계되고 MOCVD 성장기법과 화학적인 습식 식각방법으로 제작되었다. 제작된 도파로의 전파손실과 도파로 단면의 반사율은 $1.31{\mu}m$ 파장에서 Fabry-Perot 공명방법과 연속적인 절단 실험을 이용하여 측정되었다. 실험결과 폭이 $ w=4.1{\mu}m$인 직선 도파로에 대해 전파손실은 0.62dB/cm로 작았으며 도파로의 반사율은 0.299가 되었다.

하드디스크 드라이브의 슬라이더 구동정지 기간 및 검색조건 변화에 따른 입자 발생 경향 (Particle Generation Trend with Variation of Rest Time and Seek Mode in Hard Disk Drive Operation)

  • Particles existing in a hard disk drive are known as a major source of TA(thermal asperity). Researchers have investigated how particles induce the TA phenomena, but have not verified yet the reason why and how particles are generated in a HDD. The objective of this study is to investigate why and how particles are generated, and in what condition, the largest number of particles is generated. The number of particles generated in a HDD was measured over the landing zone after various rest times of slider and during various motions and positions of slider. It is found that the large number of particles was generated when the HDD was turned on after a long rest time of slider and that a few of particles were continuously generated when the slider flied over the disk surface. It is thought that the number of particles generated in a HDD was related to the rest time of slider because the rest time of slider increased stiction, and that there were intermittent contacts between the slider and the disk surface when the slider flied over the disk surface.

  • Car inspection systems are regularly carried out by the state to ensure the safety and emission status of cars, thereby improving the safety and quality of life by reducing fine dust and greenhouse gases that are the main culprits of vehicle defects and air pollution. These automobile inspections are largely divided into either regular or comprehensive inspections. This study analyzed the smoke measuring probes used in the lug - down 3 mode. In the previously issued paper "Improvement of Soot Probe Efficiency for Automotive Emission Measurement," an improved smoke measurement probe(B) improved on the problems that arise from the current smoke measurement probe (A). In this study, a technique that can improve the probe's inhalation efficiency over the improved (B) probes was applied to probes (C). Probe (C) involves a structure designed close to the center of the circumference of the exhaust pipe, and the suction efficiency was improved by adding a variable center unit.

타이어-휠가드 공간의 음장모드와 고주파성 로드노이즈의 상관성 연구 (A study on the relationship between acoustic modes in tire-wheel guard space and high frequency road noise)

  • 타이어와 휠가드 사이의 공간은 타이어 패턴음의 전달경로가 된다. 본 논문에서는 타이어-휠가드 공간에서 발생하는 음향현상을 음장모드 분석과 휠 가드 표면에서 음압분포 가시화를 통해 규명하였다. 타이어 패턴음 저감을 위해 음향학적 댐퍼 역할을 수행하는 캐비티를 휠가드 표면상에 적용하였다. 실내소음은 2 dB(A) 감소하였는데, 본 연구에서 다룬 소음저감방법은 완성차 단계에서 원가/중량의 증가없이 실내음질을 개선하는 효과적인 방안이 될 것이라고 판단된다.

Numerical Analysis of the Three-Dimensional Wake Flow and Acoustic Field around a Circular Cylinder

  • For decades, researchers have rigorously studied the characteristics of flow traveling around blunt objects in order to gain greater understanding of the flow around aircraft, vehicles or vessels. Many different types of flow exist, such as boundary layer flow, flow separation, laminar and turbulent flow, vortex and vortex shedding; such types are especially observed around circular cylinders. Vortex shedding around a circular cylinder exhibits a two-dimensional flow structure possessing a Reynolds number within the range of 47 and 180. As the Reynolds number increases, the Karman vortex changes into a three-dimensional flow structure. In this paper, a numerical analysis was performed examining the flow and aero-acoustic field characteristics around a circular cylinder using an optimized high-order compact scheme, which is a high order scheme. The analysis was conducted with a Reynolds number ranging between 300 and 1,000, which belongs to B-mode flow around a circular cylinder. For a B-mode Reynolds number, a proper spanwise length is analyzed in order to obtain the characteristics of three-dimensional flow. The numerical results of the Strouhal number as well as the lift and drag coefficients according to Reynolds numbers are coincident with the other experimental results. Basic research has been conducted studying the effects an unstable three-dimensional wake flow on an aero-acoustic field.
