Over the last several years, Korea has increasingly adopted design-build for public construction projects. There is a much greater awareness of the need to change to a system based on 'Value for Money', which is high on the government's agenda. A whole life performance bid evaluation model is proposed to aid decision makers in the selection of a design-builder. This is based on the integration of a framework using an analytic hierarchy process, as the bid awarding system is being changed from one based on the lowest price to one based on best value over the life-cycle. Key criteria such as whole life cost, service life planning and design quality are important through the key stages of the evaluation process. The model uses a systematic and holistic approach, which enables the public sector client to make better decisions in design-builder selection, which will deliver whole life benefits based on long-term cost-effectiveness.

Nowadays a movement of public health awareness has just begun through the recent health promotion law in Korea. Implementation of the health promotion requires a pluralistic process involving public and private participants from many sectors and backgrounds. The most important thing in promoting health is the appropriate role of government in fostering personal behavior change. ‘Health promotion’ has been a highly fashionable term; however it has been used in many different ways unfortunately, often without any clarification of meaning. It is because the meaning of health promotion is diverse and broad. Therefore this article focuses on the categorization of the diverse meaning of health promotion. Additionally. it puts stress on the flexibility of health promotion.

Purpose: Core competencies for becoming a good physician have been the focus of recent discussion. Understanding students' state of mind should be included in this analysis. Thus, the purpose of this study was to review recent research papers on subjective well-being in medical education and propose some suggestions. Methods: A selective search was conducted of the literature that has been published since 2000 in the Medline, Riss4U, ERIC, and KoreaMed databases using the search terms "happiness", "subjective well-being", "satisfaction", and "stress". Thirty seven studies were included in this review. Each was categorized according to 3 subjects (satisfaction, positive affect, negative affect). Results: Most studies showed relatively high levels of distress in medical students, which was related to academic worries. Although medical students were under a great deal of distress, they regarded help-seeking behavior for their distress as weakness or something negative. Conclusion: To decrease medical students' distress and sustain their well-being, there should be a change in students' awareness through curriculum, teaching methods, and coping strategies in medical education.

Upon the basis at the end of March 2005, we have the 38.91 million cellular phone subscribers over the country and the total diffusion rate of the cellular phone is reached up to 76.1%. At this moment, it can be said the most people use it since the demand is still going on. Turning to the operation company, this is serviced by the SK Telecom, LG Telecom, and KTF, and there are at least 6 manufactures producing it including Samsung, LG, KTF ever, Motorola an d SKY. Most users periodically change the service vendor to the others for buying new model or changing the service vendor. It is understood the customer's action occurred by the differences of the brand cognition. In this study, along with some parameters including the difference of the vendor's difference of satisfaction (mobile telecommunication, product), and the possibility to buy the product again, I am going to find out the relationship between the satisfaction of the provider's service.

This research aims at exploring what Korean teachers of English need for their effective professional development, particularly from the perspectives of peer trainers who are school teachers as well as teacher trainers. The research is based on an assumption that despite the critical roles of peer trainers in the changing process of English education, very little attention has been paid to listening to their voices. Having an awareness of the meaningfulness of their voices in teacher education, the researcher collected and analyzed the data, employing a questionnaire responded by 32 peer trainers and in-depth group interview with 6 peer trainers who responded the questionnaire. The research findings suggest that the majority of peer trainers believe that the priority should be put on teaching practice rather than language competence for Korean English language teacher development. It has been found that they believe that teacher learning within the workplace with some support from outside experts is the most effective way of making classroom change possible and keeping teachers' professional development sustainable. Finally, the research suggests school-based professional development as an alternative strategy to satisfy their needs on effective and sustainable professional development.

Deep comprehension of basic mathematical notions and concepts is a basic condition of a successful teaching. Some elements of algebraic thinking belong to the elementary school mathematics. The question "What stays the same and what changes?" link arithmetic problems with algebraic conception of variable. We have studied beliefs and comprehensions of future elementary school mathematics teachers on early algebra. Pre-service teachers from three academic pedagogical colleges deal with mathematical problems from the pre-algebra point of view, with the emphasis on changes and invariants. The idea is that the intensive use of non-formal algebra may help learners to construct a better understanding of fundamental ideas of arithmetic on the strong basis of algebraic thinking. In this article the study concerning arithmetic series is described. Considerable number of pre-service teachers moved from formulas to deep comprehension of the subject. Additionally, there are indications of ability to apply the conception of change and invariance in other mathematical and didactical contexts.

The purpose of this study was to show the abnormal eating habit in pervasive development disorder (PDD) children. The authors studied retrospectively the features of eating habit in 60 PDD children diagnosed by DSM-III-R who made their first visity to Department of Psychiatry, Dongsan Medical Center Keimyung University, from January 1990 to December 1990. The results were as follows;1. The average was 3 years, onset age of illness was before 3 years of all patients, and the ratio between male and female was 5,7:1, and ratio between autistic disorder and PDDNOS was 4:1. 2. Twenty four of 60 PDD children had one or more abnormal eating habit(autistic disorder; 43.8%, PDDNOS; 25%), and more prevalent to male(43.1%,) than female(22.2%). 3. Milk, biscuit, meat and fluids were the favorate foods, the unfavorate foods were vegetable, rice, frutis. 4. Patients of abnormal eating habit were more symptoms of DSM-III-R on 'lack of awareness', 'preoccupation with parts of objects','distress over change'and 'insistence on routine' than others.

After Landscape Act was enacted, as awareness of landscape has increased and the need of expanding targets of landscape design review and improving landscape examination in terms of quality, this study aims to describe a technique of creating three dimensional landscape simulation model which is used for landscape design review. For this, the author of this study conducted analysis in terms of function and use of programs and compatibility with programs to find a way of creating models with the most efficient and optimum process. For creation of landscape simulation models, initial creation is important but in case that changes occur by operator changing or discussing development plans, rapid correction and change are needed. Therefore, this study described how to build more accrurate and efficient simulation at initial review and how to create a landscape simulation model for rapid response to changed plans during reconsideration.

최근 건설분야에 화두가 되고 있는 건축정보모델링(BIM, Building Information Modeling)은 건설산업의 패러다임 전환을 통한 새로운 성장동력의 미래로 부각되고 있으며, 건축분야는 서울시, 용인시, LH공사 등 BIM을 활용한 공공 발주사례가 확산되는 추세다. 토목분야는 건축보다 기간이 길고 비용이 크며 이해당사자가 너무 다양해서 발생하는 정보의 양이 방대할 뿐만 아니라 활용분야를 다양화하지 못하고 이를 뒷받침해주는 제도나 지침의 부재 등으로 인해 건축분야보다 BIM도입이 늦어지고 있다. 이에 토목분야에서 활용할 수 있는 3차원 형상정보와 관련된 정보모델표준, 지침, 가이드를 개발하기 위해 BIM 적용시 가장 효과가 크고 도입의지가 강한 엔지니어링사의 BIM에 대한 인지도 분석을 통해 토목분야 BIM 도입을 위한 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.

In the smart intelligence information society, there is a possibility that the social dysfunction such as the personal information protection issue and the risk to the electronic surveillance society may be highlighted. In this paper, we refer to various categories and classify electronic surveillance into audio surveillance, visual surveillance, location surveillance, biometric information surveillance, and data surveillance. In order to respond to new electronic surveillance in the intelligent information society, it requires a change of perception that is different from that of the past. This starts with the importance of digital privacy and results in the right to self-determination of personal information. Therefore, in order to preemptively respond to the dysfunctions that may arise in the intelligent information society, it is necessary to further raise the awareness of the civil society to protect information human rights.
