Method: The subjects consisted of 72 patients with myocardial infarction, hospitalized at three university-affiliated hospitals. The data were collected by interviewing their subjects using a questionnaire and reviewing the medical records from September 15, 1999 to July 31, 2000. Data were analyzed using the SAS program for Windows version 6.12. Results: 1 The average knowledge score of the patients was 19.7 and the average compliance score was 53.9. 2. Knowledge scores were highest in the items of avoiding overeating and taking medicine at prescribed dosage, and lowest in the item of when to avoid sexual activity. 3. Knowledge level were highest on domains of exercise & daily activities, and risk factors and followed by diet. medication. and nature of disease. 4. Those who had higher education, or were living with a spouse were significantly higher in knowledge score. 5. Compliance score was highest in the item of smoking cessation and lowest in the item of measuring heart rate regularly. 6. Compliance score was highest on domain of smoking cessation and followed by diet, exercise, others, and managing mental stress. 7. Female patients had significantly higher compliance scores of health behavior on domain of diet than male patients. 8. The knowledge score was positively correlated to compliance of health behaviors. Conclusion: According to the above findings, it can be concluded that intensive nursing care and education should be provided to the patients who have lower education or are living without a spouse. Also, nursing intervention should be developed to increase compliance of managing mental stress and doing regular exorcise.
This study was conducted to investigate the degree of practice of dietary behavior and dining out in accordance with intake of sodium among male and female adults aged 20 years or older residing in the Seoul Metropolitan area or Chungcheong Province. A total of 530 copies of the questionnaire were distributed from May to July, 2014. The SH group who responded that they eat a lot of sodium constituted 30.6% (158 people), followed by the SM group who responded that their sodium intake is about average at 55.7% (288 people) and the SL group who answered that they do not eat much sodium at 13.7% (71 people). Those in the SL group showed positive results for dietary behavior patterns. The SL group showed the lowest rate in terms of how often they eat harmful foods, including processed foods, sweet foods, salty foods, or food with high animal fat content such as pork belly. Positive results among the SL group were prominent in terms of avoiding over-drinking, regular exercise, and nutritional knowledge, indicating greater health management. The distribution of each group in terms of self-perceived sodium intake showed significant differences across age, gender, and household income in terms of frequency of fast food intake, regularity of meals, purchase of foods with consideration of sodium amount, frequency of missed meals, balance of food intake, and health management habits.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore health behavior and perception of therapeutic restrictions in chronically ill children and their parents in Korea. Method: Nine children with chronic disease and of six of their parents were interviewed using semi-structured a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using explorative content analysis. Results: Health behaviors related to therapeutic restrictions was classified into four domains, and the perceptions of therapeutic restrictions into two domains. The domains regarding compliance in health behavior with therapeutic restrictions included control-centered restrictions (maintaining food limitations, avoiding harmful environments, restriction on physical activity, restriction on social activity, restriction on learning activity), and everyday pursuit of balance(preference for healthy diet, maintaining a regular life style, maintaining a standard body weight, pursuing psychological well-being, family participation). Domains regarding perception of therapeutic restrictions included obstacles to growth and development (bridled life, opportunity deprivation, prevented from playing proper role), origin of conflict (tenacity, conflict, stressor, cover-up), task for normal life (doing proper duty), and everyday affairs (becoming ordinary, familiarity). Conclusion: This study will help to enhance understanding the behavior and perception of therapeutic restrictions by chronically ill children and their families and to establish educational programs and counseling for these children and their families.
Purpose: This study aimed to develop and examine the effects of a prenatal program on environmental health behavior using cartoon comics among Korean pregnant women. Methods: This study used a non-equivalent control group pre-test/post-test design. The program used cartoon comics to explore environmental health behaviors during pregnancy. The program consisted of the following four components: environmental toxicants during pregnancy, avoiding particulate matter during pregnancy, environmental toxicants during baby care, and making a healthy environment for children. In total, 35 pregnant women participated in the study: 18 in the experimental group and 17 in the control group. Data collection and program adaptation were conducted between November 3, 2020 and January 19, 2021. The effect of the prenatal education program was evaluated by t-test and repeated measures ANOVA. Results: Learning experience (t = - 2.35, p = .025), feasibility (t = - 2.46, p = .019), satisfaction (t = - 2.23, p = .032) were higher in the experimental group than in the control group in the first post-test. Feasibility (t = - 2.40, p = .022) was higher in the experimental group than in the control group in the second post-test. Repeated-measures ANOVA showed significant interactions between time and group in environmental susceptibility (F = 9.31, p < .001), self-efficacy (F = 3.60, p = .033), and community behavior (F = 5.41, p = .007). Conclusion: This study demonstrates the need for a prenatal education program to promote environmental health perceptions and behavior during pregnancy. We suggest a prenatal class adopting the creative cartoon comics to promote the maternal environmental health behaviors.
Extrusion characteristics of Mg alloys were studied experimentally. The Al-Zn-Mg alloys, AZ31, AZ6l, AZ80, and AZ91 were extruded with hot hydrostatic extrusion process. The hydrostatic process was efficient to reduce surface friction and extend steady state region in extrusion which made it more convenient to examine deformation behavior of the alloys avoiding the disturbance caused by temporary contact state between billet and die, and billet and container. High pressure was cooperative to expand forming limit of the alloys which were applied on the billet during the extrusion process. Extrusion limits were traced in temperature and extrusion speed domain with changing composition of the alloying elements. Effects of process parameters on extrusion load and microstructure evolution were investigated also.
This paper presents an obstacle avoidance of a mobile robot by the subgoal generation using infrared sensors. When an obstacle appears on the path which the robot is moving forward the robot has to get information, such as distance between the robot and the obstacle and the shape of the obstacle for avoidance behavior. Our collision avoidance algorithm needs the only distance between the robot and the obstacles. The distances are used for subgoal generation. Simulation results show that a robot can go to the goal, carrying out subgoal generation and avoiding obstacles.
Ccompaction and sintering behavior of highly pure PSZ powders were investigated by laying the stress on the granulation processes. The particle size of coprecipitated PSZ powder was so fine that the agglomeration was severely formed during drying and calcing step and by this agglomeration differential sinering was occurred. The methanol dispersion of precipitates was the good method of avoiding severe agglomeration formed during drying process because of small surface tension than water. But perfect deagglomeraton was not possible due to high surface area of powders. So homogenization by granulation was needed, and among the method spray granulation was the most desirable to obtain homogeneous compacts and subsequent flaw-free ceramics.
The purpose of this study was to establish the marketing strategy, that strengthens the brand royalty of their own in apparel industry and that can induce consumers brand switching against competitive brand. This study was classified into theoretical and experimental study. Experimental study was done, using the survey, to prove the models for consumers responses to brand switching by the theoretical study. It analyzed at last five hundred ninety-two women in the age of twenty to thirty years old who live in Seoul. Followings are the summary of the results revealed through the experimental study. First, brand switching behavior of consumers for formal dress was attributed to two extremes the inner motivation of variety seeking tendency and communication contact, complex variety seeking group, true variety seeking group, derived variety seeking group, and variety avoiding group. Second, the cognition response to marketing communication the types of brand switching shows difference in all communication variables except the service promotion of sales promotion communication. As to attitude response, it was found meaning difference in all communication variables except the sales promotion through price adjustment.
The shock performance of hard disk drives has been a serious issue for portable computers and AV application HDD. Focusing on the motion of an actuator, we investigated non-operational shock mechanism and studied several parameters that affect the shock performance by experimental analysis. It was found that there are two important factors fort the actuator to endure high shock revel. One is a shock transmissibility and the other is a beating between the arm blade and the suspension. To generalize the shock transmissibility, the concept of shock response spectrum was introduced. The shock response spectrum of the actuator system was obtained experimentally and compared with that of an analytical single degree of freedom model. It was found that there was a good agreement. The first bending natural frequency of the arm blade was found to be the most important factor for the low shock transmissibility. By applying the shock response spectrum and avoiding the beating, we could design an actuator of high shock performance.
This paper presents a multiple degree-of-freedom (dof) energy bounding approach (EBA) to enhance directional transparency while guaranteeing stability for multiple-dof haptic interaction. It was observed that the passivity condition for multiple ports may lead to some oscillatory limit cycle behaviors in some coordinate directions even though the total sum of energy flow-in is positive, meaning that the system is passive. The passivity condition, therefore, needs to be applied to each coordinate in order to avoid oscillatory behavior by keeping each energy flow-in always positive. For guaranteeing passivity, which in turn, stability in each coordinates, the EBA is applied. For multiple-dof haptic interaction, however, the EBA in each coordinate may distort the direction of the force vector to be rendered since the EBA may cut down the magnitude of the force and torque vectors to be rendered in order to ensure the passivity. For avoiding this problem, a simple projection method is presented. The validity of the proposed algorithm is shown by several experiments.
