  • The ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm is a new heuristic algorithm that offers good robustness and searching ability. With in-depth exploration, the ACO algorithm exhibits slow convergence speed, and yields local optimization solutions. Based on analysis of the ACO algorithm and the genetic algorithm, we propose a novel hybrid genetic ant colony optimization (NHGAO) algorithm that integrates multi-population strategy, collaborative strategy, genetic strategy, and ant colony strategy, to avoid the premature phenomenon, dynamically balance the global search ability and local search ability, and accelerate the convergence speed. We select the traveling salesman problem to demonstrate the validity and feasibility of the NHGAO algorithm for solving complex optimization problems. The simulation experiment results show that the proposed NHGAO algorithm can obtain the global optimal solution, achieve self-adaptive control parameters, and avoid the phenomena of stagnation and prematurity.

  • Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) uses the 32-bit checksum in the common header, by which a corrupted SCTP packet will be regarded as a lost packet and then discarded. This may result in degradation of SCTP's throughput performance over wireless networks. This paper proposes a new chunk checksum scheme for SCTP, in which each data chunk contains its own checksum field and SACK chunk carry corresponding Transmission Sequence Number (TSN) with timestamp for every corruption event. The proposed chunk checksum scheme is introduced with the following three purposes: 1) to distinguish the chunk corruptions from the chunk losses; 2) to avoid the unnecessary halving of the congestion window (cwnd) in the case of chunk corruption; 3) to avoid the unwanted timeouts which can be induced in conventional SCTP in the case that the retransmitted data chunks are corrupted again in wireless networks. Simulation results show that the proposed chunk checksum scheme could improve the SCTP throughput in the wireless environments with a high bit error rate.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to avoidance obstacle in which we assume that obstacle has an unstable limit cycle in the chaos trajectory surface. In order to avoid the obstacle, we assume that all obstacles in the chaos trajectory surface in which has an unstable limit cycle with Van der Pol equation. In this paper show also that computer simulation results are satisfy to avoid obstacle in the chaos trajectory with Chua's circuit equation of one or multi obstacle has an limit cycle with Van der Pol (VDP) efuation and compare to rate of cover in one robot which have random walk and Chua's equation.

  • Collision free task planning for dual-arm robot which perform many subtasks in a common work space can be achieved in two steps : path planning and trajectory planning. Path planning finds the order of tasks for each robot to minimize path lengths as well as to avoid collision with static obstacles. A trajectory planning strategy is to let each robot move along its path as fast as possible and delay one robot at its initial position or reduce speed at the middle of its path to avoid collision with the other robot.

  • This paper presents a causal forecasting model using guided genetic algorithm in continuous manufacturing process. The guide genetic algorithm(GGA) is an extended genetic algorithm(GA) using penalty function and population diversity index to increase forecasting accuracy. GGA adds to the canonical GA the concept of a penalty function to avoid selecting the unproductive chromosomes and to make a proper searching direction. Also, GGA modifies the current population using the similarity of chromosomes to avoid falling into the trap of local optimal solution. For investigation GGA performance, we used a set of real data that was collected in local glass melting processes, and experimental results show the proposed model results in the better forecasting accuracy than linear regression model and canonical GA.

  • The Aerospace and automobile industries have need to avoid sheet-metal forming problem such as incorrect springback after forming and trimming process, excessive thinning/tearing, wrinking/perkering. It is common practice to use costly trial-and-error experimental methods to develop tooling and manufacturing process parameters. Experimentation should be complemented with computer simulation to reduce cost and leadtime in manufacturing and to influence the design of components. In this study, firstly we solved the springback problem after drawing and trimming process of KFP(F100-229) engine airsealing bearing support part(53H00) forming and studied on the effect of several process parameters on the gap between the formed blank and punch shape using the implicit F.E.M code(ABAQUS). Secondly by the three dimensional dynamic analysis using the explicit. F. E. M code (LS-DYNA3D), we studied on the effect of several process parameters which can be used for avoid tearing and wrinking during the drawing process.

  • A new design based on the appropriate geometry of molded part and type of runner system under the optimal processing conditions was proposed to minimize the micro weld lines on the sub deco surface molded by two shot molding. Theoretical and experimental studies were conducted to examine the cause of the weld lines during the overmolding process in two shot molding. Various dimensions and geometries of substrate$(1^{st}shot)$ and the wall thickness of overmold$(2^{nd}shot)$ have been proposed to avoid the weld lines which are the most inevitable appearance defects occurred on the sub deco. The each design proposal was analyzed by mold flow analysis after part modeling. The analysis results were compared with molded part from mass production tool. It could be seen that from the analysis that the proper geometry of plastic part and type of runner system considering pressure drop under the optimal processing conditions were the most influential factors to avoid weld lines occured on the sub deco.

  • Dynamic crack initiation in ductile steel is investigated by means of impact loaded 3 point bend(PB) specimens. Results from non-viscoplastic and viscoplastic materials are compared. Their materials are applied with various impact velocities and static strain rates. The specimen has the size 320${\times}$750 mm with a thickness of 10 mm. A modified 3PB specimen design with reduced width at the ends has been developed in order to avoid the initial compressive load of the crack tip and also to avoid the uncertain boundary conditions at the impact heads. Numerical simulations are made by using the FEM code ABAQUS. Therefore, their results are plotted by shapes of the von Mises plastic stress and equivalent plastic strain of the specimens applied by various impact velocities.

  • In this paper, the method on calculating benefits of combined heat and power is introduced for standard evaluation in electrical power system. This paper calculates benefits about new national viewpoint and viewpoint of independent power producers and assesses benefits of combined heat and power in Korea and In Seoul national capital area. Benefit costs are composed of avoid cost of centralized generation, line upgrading adjustment, loss adjustment and electrical power trade cost per year in earlier study, in addition trade cost of $CO_2$, construction cost of combined heat and power for accurate calculation. Benefit of combined heat and power is calculated by simulation results of real electrical power system.

  • A color halftoning is the process of generating halftone images for the different color plans, for example, cyan, magenta, yellow, and black for a offset printing device. A conventional halftone technique, so called AM screening, is simple and easy to implement, but the halftoned dot patterns by using this method is not free for the moire` fringe. Moire` patterns are caused the power spectrum distribution on low spatial frequency domain. To avoid Moire` patterns, the conventional screen require the different screen angles for each color plans. Recently, Ultra-fine and 7 color printing methods are developed to expend the color gamut. In 7 color printing method must be used the halftone technique of random and blue noise characteristic to avoid Moire` fringe.
