  • AVTE(Air Vehicle Test Equipment) is a device to check status of on-board aircraft equipment before and after flight for performing successful UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) missions. This paper describes software design and test sequence of the AVTE for enabling easy-manual check by the operator and convenient automatic check of on-board electric equipment respectively. The proposed AVTE inspects BIT(Built-In Test) results of on-board LRUs(Line Replacement Units) including avionics and sensor sub-system devices. Also, it monitors all the LRU status and check the normality of aircraft equipment by means of setting specific values of the LRUs and confirming the expected test results. The AVTE prints the test results as a form of report to easily check the normal conditions of the aircraft equipment and operates automatically without operator interaction, thus being thought to effectively reduce workload of the operator.

  • In this paper, we propose a smart automated warehouse to maximize space utilization. Previous elevator-type automatic warehouses were designed with a maximum payload of 100kg on trays, which has the problem of extremely limiting the number of pallets that can be loaded within the space. In this paper, we design a smart warehouse that can maximize space utilization with a maximum vertical stiffness of 300kg. As a result of the performance evaluation of the implemented warehouse, the maximum payload was 500.6kg, which satisfied the original design and requirements, the lifting speed was 0.5m/s, the operating noise of the device was 67.1dB, the receiving and forwarding time of the pallet was 36.92sec, the deflection amount was 4mm, and excellent performance was confirmed in all evaluation items. In addition, the PLC control method, which designs the control UI and control panel separately, was integrated into the PC system to improve interoperability and maintainability with various process management systems. In the future, we plan to develop it into a fully automatic smart warehouse by linking IoT sensor-based logistics robots.

  • Recently, accidents caused by black ice, a road freezing phenomenon caused by natural power, are increasing. Black ice is difficult to identify directly with the human eye and is more likely to misunderstand it as standing water, so there is a high accident rate caused by car sliding. To solve this problem, this paper presents a method of detecting black ice centered on LiDAR sensors. With a small, inexpensive, and high-accuracy light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensor, the temperature and inclination angle are set differently to detect black ice and asphalt by setting different reflection angles of asphalt and black ice differently in temperatures and inclinations. The LIDARO carried out in the study points out that additional research and improvement are needed to increase accuracy, and through this, more reliable black ice detection methods can be suggested. This method suggests a method of detecting black ice through early system design research by preventing accidents caused by black ice in advance.

  • K-UAM will be commercialized through maturity after 2035. Since the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) corridor will be used vertically separating the existing helicopter corridor, the corridor usage is expected to increase. Therefore, a system for monitoring corridors is also needed. In recent years, object detection algorithms have developed significantly. Object detection algorithms are largely divided into one-stage model and two-stage model. In real-time detection, the two-stage model is not suitable for being too slow. One-stage models also had problems with accuracy, but they have improved performance through version upgrades. Among them, YOLO-V5 improved small image object detection performance through Mosaic. Therefore, YOLO-V5 is the most suitable algorithm for systems that require real-time monitoring of wide corridors. Therefore, this paper trains YOLO-V5 and analyzes whether it is ultimately suitable for corridor monitoring.K-uam will be commercialized through maturity after 2035.

  • In this paper, we propose a vibration notification system that combines navigation information and wearable bands to ensure safe driving for the transportation vulnerable. This system transmits navigation driving information to a linked application, converts it into a vibration signal, and provides notifications through a wearable band. Existing navigation systems focus on providing route guidance and location information, so the driver's concentration is dispersed, and safety and convenience are deteriorated, especially for those with mobility impairments, due to standard vision and delayed recognition of stimuli, resulting in an increasingly high traffic accident rate. To solve this problem, navigation driving information is converted into vibration signals through a linked application, and vibration notifications for events, left turns, right turns, and speeding are provided through a wearable band to ensure driver safety and convenience. In the future, we will use cameras and vehicle sensors to increase awareness of safety inside and outside the vehicle by adding a function that provides notifications with vibration and LED when the vehicle approaches or recognizes an object, and we will continue to conduct research to build a safer driving environment. plan.

  • To improve the productivity of cargo containment construction for a membrane LNG carrier, it is important to shorten the installation period and process of the scaffolding system, which is a construction workbench of a cargo containment for a membrane LNG carrier. As an effective method, opinions are being gathered to enlarge the lifting unit from the existing two stages to eight stages. On the other hand, the stresses around the pin and hole will increase significantly because of the increase in lifting load according to the large size of the module. The purpose of this study was to establish a new large module-lifting plan by introducing TRIZ to solve these problems. This study adopted a method to utilize 40 inventive principles, which is one of the various problem-solving tools of TRIZ. First, technical contradictions were derived, the engineering parameters were selected. Second, efficient inventive principles were selected to overcome the technical contradictions using a contradiction matrix. Finally, the general and specific solutions were derived through the selected inventive principle, and structural analysis confirmed that the stress generated in the structure was low. The utility of TRIZ was confirmed by the successful lifting of large modules using the established lifting method.

  • This paper presents a video quality assessment method based on quality degradation factors of real-time multimedia streaming services. The video quality degradation is caused by video source compression and network states. In this paper, we propose a blocky metric on an image domain to measure quality degradation by video compression. In this paper, the proposed boundary strength index for the blocky metric is defined by ratio of the variation of two pixel values adjacent to $8{\times}8$ block boundary and the average variation at several pixels adjacent to the two boundary pixels. On the other hand, unnatural image movement caused by network performance deterioration such as jitter and delay factors can be observed. In this paper, a temporal-Jerkiness measurement method is proposed by computing statistics of luminance differences between consecutive frames and play-time intervals between frames. The proposed final Perceptual Video Quality Metric (PVQM) is proposed by consolidating both blocking strength and temporal-jerkiness. To evaluate performance of the proposed algorithm, the accuracy of the proposed algorithm is compared with Difference of Mean Opinion Score (DMOS) based on human visual system.

  • The DO-178C guide, which is referenced as the software development guide when a certification of the airworthiness in the commercial airplane is acquired by FAA in US, is recently referenced for the local military aircraft airworthiness. This indicates that when the auditor of the military aircraft airworthiness looks over the software development documents, the auditor reviews if all of the documents are verified in accordance with the DO-178C guide. However, when we developed the military aircraft intercom, We developed its control software in accordance with the CMMI level 3, since there were no requirements for the compliance of the DO-178C guide. Therefore, When we consider the airworthiness of this intercomm system, The analysis for how much the software development based on the CMMI level 3 is different from the DO-178C guide is needed to prepare the essential software documents additionally. Thus, This study analyzes the differences between CMMI level 3 and DO-178C guide and provides that which data on the CMMI level 3 is necessary for the compliance of the aircraft airworthiness comparing with the DO-178C. The analyzed result can be applied at the software development of the other military aircraft avionics equipment based on the CMMI model environment considering the compliance of the military aircraft airworthiness.
