  • This paper proposes to use a 20[kHz] phaseshifted Full-Bridge (FB) Zero-Voltage-Switched (ZVS) PWM converter in order to drive a 600[W] magnetron, and analyzes the operational modes in a switching period. Additionally, the controller of the average anode current is designed. Simulation studies and experiments verify that the proposed converter and the average anode current controller shows good performance to drive the magnetron.

  • In this paper, we proposed an analytical model for TFT which has series of the polycrystalline structures. An average speed is defined as carrier speed by the electric field. The effective square is suggested as the area of grain without depletion for the changed grain size. First, physical parameters such as grain size, channel lenght and trap density, have been changed to prove the validity of the average speed model and the value of the effective square has been estimated through drain-source current.

  • The values for the average and rms currents in a three-level PWM inverter are required in order to select the various components such as power semiconductor devices, capacitors and reactors of inverter circuit. And those are very useful for the designing of the heat sink. In this paper, therefore, the simple current equations are proposed for a three-level PWM inverter. Analysis of inverter current waveforms indicate that the average and rms inverter currents are dependent on the load power factor and PWM modulation index (Ma). Error analysis and experiment results verify the effectiveness of the proposed current equations. (author). refs., figs., tabs.

  • The paper presents a seam tracking controller of high speed rotating arc sensor developed by microprocessor based system. The seam tracking algorithm is based on the average current value at each interval region of four phase points on one rotating cycle. To remove the noise effect for the measured current, the area during one rotating cycle is separated into four regions of front, rear, left and right. The average values at each region are calculated, using the regional current values and a low pass filter incorporating the moving average and exponential smoothing methods is adopted.

  • A new control method for single-phase shunt active power line conditioners(APLC's) operated under zero average power consumption is proposed in this paper. The amplitude of the sinusoidal source current which is in-phase with the source voltage can be determined from the average value of the instantaneous load power. Then the command current for the shunt APLC is obtained by subtraction the source current from the load current. Neither bulky filter nor time-consuming computation is required. The shunt power compensator supplies all the harmonics of he load current and the source only supplies the fundamental component,. Experimental results on a prototype verify the feasibility of the presented scheme,

  • Theoretical average current and rms current equations are solved using the analytical method in the 3phase voltage-fed inverter. Experimental switch current equations are established by simulation and compared with theoretical equations. As a result of analysis, average and rms currents of switch devices are represented by a function as power factor and modulation index. Especially, equations of this paper are represented as a function of a single factor(K) equal to the product of the power factor and modulation index. Method that can find current levels of switch devices for inverter design and conduction loss of inverter in a simple and accurate manner is presented. Influences of modulation method on switch current are also studied.

  • In this paper, we propose a method of the zoom motion estimation for the depth video coding. The proposed method calculates the zoom ratio using the average of the depth values in the current block and in the reference block. It resizes the reference block by the zoom ratio and interpolates the reference block to size of the current block. It compares the current block with the reference block that is obtained by subtracting the average of pixels from the current block to the reference block in order to find the reference block that is the best closest one to the current block. The results of the simulation for the proposed method show that the motion estimation errors are significantly reduced.

  • This paper proposes a compensator to eliminate the DC bias of inductor current. This method utilizes an average-current sensing technique to detect the DC bias of inductor current. A small signal model of the DC bias compensation loop is derived. It is shown that the DC bias has a one-pole relationship with the duty cycle of the left side leading lag. By considering the pole produced by the dual active bridge (DAB) converter and the pole produced by the average-current sensing module, a one-pole-one-zero digital compensation method is given. By using this method, the DC bias is eliminated, and the stability of the compensation loop is ensured. The performance of the proposed compensator is verified with a 1.2-kW DAB converter prototype.
