조명 변화에 강인한 얼굴 검출을 위한 좌우대칭 평균화 기법 (A Bilateral Symmetry Average Method for Robust Face Detection against Illumination Variation)

  • 형판 정합 기반의 얼굴 검출 시스템에서 획득된 이미지에 대한 명암 정규화 및 영상 보정을 위해 히스토그램 평활화나 로그 변환 등을 사용한다. 이 방법은 조명 변화에 의해 발생한 이미지의 부분 명암 왜곡에는 효과적이지 못하다는 것이 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 부분적 명암 왜곡에 매우 효과적인 영상 보정을 수행하는 좌우대칭 평균화 기법을 제시한다. 실험 결과 이 기법은 기존의 방식보다 매우 효율적인 검출 성능을 보일 뿐만 아니라 얼굴 후보의 개수도 현저하게 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

Exploring Environmental Factors Affecting Strawberry Yield Using Pattern Recognition Techniques

  • This paper investigates the importance of various environmental factors that have a strong influence on strawberry yields grown in greenhouse using the pattern recognition methods. The environmental factors influencing the production of strawberries were six factors such as average inside temperature, average inside humidity, average $CO_2$ level, average soil temperature, cumulative solar radiation, and average illumination. The results of analyzing the observed data using Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) showed that the most significant factor influencing the strawberry production was average soil temperature, average inside humidity, and cumulative solar radiation. Second, the results of analyzing the observed data using Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) showed that the most influential factors on the strawberry yields, such as average $CO_2$ level, average inside humidity, and average illumination were differently given for each farms. However, these results are based on the distance in 3D space and can be deduced from the fact that there is not a large difference between these distances. Therefore, in order to increase the harvest of strawberries cultivated in the farms, it is necessary to manage the environmental factors such as thoroughly controlling the humidity and maintaining the concentration of $CO_2$ constantly by ventilation of the greenhouse.

주택거실의 조명환경 실태와 거주자의 평가 (A Survey on the actual conditions of Lighting Environment and Residents' Evaluation in Liveing rooms)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual conditions of illumination circumstances in living rooms and the evaluation of residents about those. The respondents of this study were residents of 236 detached houses and 163 apartment houses in Taegu city, The results are as follows: (1) Fluorescent lamps are usded in living rooms by half and plural lighting fixtures are generally used; ceiling light and chandelier. While direct light system is generally used and core type is the most frequent in living rooms. (2) The average used illumination level is 59.7 1x while the possession illumination level is 84.9 1x by investigating of illumination circumstances. (3) Over half of residents are satisfied with illumination circumstances in their own houses. While they wish to improve the lighting fixtures lightness and the kind of light soure in order. And the evaluation of residents are medial level.

균일한 조도를 위한 LED 조명용 렌즈 설계 및 분석 (The design and the analysis of a LED lens for forming a uniform illumination on an illuminating plane)

  • 본 연구는 균일한 조명을 얻기 위해 자유 형상 렌즈(freeform lens)를 제작하였으며, 이를 위해 중첩 조명 모델(overlapped illumination model)을 제안하였고, 제작한 LED 렌즈들의 특성을 분석하였다. 제작한 렌즈는 LED 빛 세기 분포의 중심 방향, 반치각 (half angle) 및 LED 광원의 위치변화를 바탕으로 그 성능을 평가하였다. 아울러 조명영역은 평균 조도 (average illuminance)와 조도 균일도 (illuminance uniformity) 변화 값으로 수행하였다. 광도 분포의 중심 방향 변화에 대해서는 제안된 모델과 발산 모델이 대체로 비슷한 공차 특성을 보였으며, 특히 제작한 렌즈에서 반치각 변화는 기존 방법에 비해 조도 균일도 공차 특성은 현저히 개선됨을 확인하였다.

일부지역 대본업소의의 환경위생학적 조사 (조명과 CO를 중심으로) (The Study on Environmental Sanitation for Book-lending Shops in Inchon Area)

  • This survey was carried out for a month from Jan. 15th, 1979 to Feb, 15th, 1979 to study the sanitary environments of the "book-lending" shops (comic-book shops) in Inchon area, and the special emphasis was placed on their illumination and carbon monoxide gas, which plays an important part in the whole sanitary environment. 120 shops surveyed were chosen at random from 4 administrative districts, 30 shops from one district respectively. The results of the survey were as follows:1) The average space of the book-lending shops (63.3%) was 2.0~3.9 pyung, at 21 number of shops (17.5%) was 1.0~1.9 pyung, at 53 number of shops (10.8%) was 4.0~5.9 pyung, at 9 number of shops (7.5%) was 6.0~7.9 pyung. 2) The ages of 42.8 percent of the whole 888 customers range from 10 to 14 and those of 36.5 percent from 15 to 19, and those of 11.9 percent from 20 to 24, and 89.2 percent were male and 10.8 percent were females and the percent of spending time in shops was shown 10.2% in under 1 hr, 25.4% in 1 hr to 2 hrs, 46.5% in 2 hrs to 3 hrs and 17.8% in over 3 hrs. 3)The CO pollution was quite different by shops where the ventilator was equipped and where not equipped. In the shops equipped shown 36 shops (80.8%) and non-equipped shown 65 shops (86.7%), the pollution ratio of all the shops (120 shops) was 84.2 percent. 4) The CO Concentration of the ventilator equipped shops was shown 44.5 percent in 100~149 ppm, 150~199 ppm shown 33.3 percent and 22.2 percent was 200~250 ppm, In the non-equipped shops the CO concentration was shown 36.9 percent was 150~199 ppm and 200~250 ppm was 25.6 percent. The totally was 39.6 percent in 100~149 ppm. 5) 37.5 percent of the book-lending shops had the ventilation facilities but 62.6 percent had no ventilators. 6) The maxmum average illumination of the shops was 38.5 Lux and the minimum average illumination was 14.1 Lux, and the mean average illumination S.D. was 24.6\pm38.4. 7) 35.8 percent of the shops had the illumination of 20~29 Lux and 8.3 percent had that of more than 40 Lux. In other words 91.7 percent had the illumination of less than 40 Lux.

치과 기공실의 조명에 관한 실태 조사 연구 (A study of illumination of dental laboratories)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 치과 기공실의 조명이 심미 보철을 위한 색조의 분별과 조화, 재현에 적당한지 알아보기 위한 실태 조사이다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 48곳의 치과 기공실을 대상으로 lux meter와 color meter를 이용하여 포세린 작업대(porcelain table) 상판 중심의 조도와 색온도를 측정 하였다. 각각의 기공실을 자연광(day light)과 인공조명(artificial illumination)이 있는 오후 12시 - 2시 사이와 인공조명 만이 있는 오후 7시 - 10시 사이, 2차례 측정하였고, 맑은 날과 흐린 날로 구분하였다. 결과: 1. 전체 기공실의 평균 조도는 1871 lx이었고, 67%의 기공실이 1600 lx를 넘겨 색과 관련한 작업을 하기에 적합한 조도를 갖추었으나 33%의 기공실은 이에 미치지 못하였다. 2. 전체 기공실의 평균 색온도는 6506 K로 색과 관련한 작업을 하기에 부적절하였다. 적정 색온도인 5000 - 5500 K를 만족하는 기공실은 없었다. 3. 전체 기공실의 낮과 밤의 조도(P = 0.73) 및 맑은 날과 흐린 날의 조도(P = 0.89)와 낮과 밤의 색온도(P = 0.17) 및 맑은 날과 흐린 날의 색온도(P = 0.51)는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 결론: 본 연구에서 조사된 치과 기공실의 조명은 색과 관련한 작업을 하기에 부적절한 경우가 많았다.

의류매장 쇼윈도의 조명환경 실태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Current Illumination Environment of Show Window in Fashion Shop)

  • 본 고에서는 쇼윈도 크기, 조명, 그리고 디스플레이간의 관계를 고찰하였다. 그 결과, 대구지역 쇼윈도의 평균공간 크기는 폭 341.3[cm], 높이 233.4[cm]였다. 광원은 할로겐램프, 형광등, 백열등의 순으로 사용되었고, 2가지 이상의 광원이 병용되며 국부조명법이 주로 사용되었다. 상점종사자들의 디스플레이와 조명에 대한 의식에서는 디스플레이의 필요성이나 중요성에 대해 잘 인식하고 있으나 조명효과가 상품의 색, 진열방법 등과 같은 다른 요소와 조화를 이루어야 한다는 점은 과소평가되고 있다.

독거노인의 거택환경과 기분상태, 일상생활활동 및 간호요구도에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Residential Environment, Mood States, ADL and Nursing Need of the Elderly who Live Alone)

  • This study was conducted to find out residential environment, mood states, ADL(Activity Daily Living) and nursing need of the elderly who live alone. The questionnaire survey was conducted on 154 single household elderly over 65years who live n D-city, Kangwon Province. The data were collected between September 1. 1999 and October 17, 1999 and analyzed by means of SPSS package. The results were as follows; 1. The percentage of the subjects who owned their house was no were than $13\%$., which showed that they still belonged to the economically vulnerable class. As for their residential environment, the average indoor temperature and humidity level were $16.45^{\circ}C\;and\;44.62\%$ respectively during the daytime between September and October, which proved to range within the standard scope. The average indoor illumination level was, however, 43.61 Lux, which showed that their illumination environment was very poor. 2. The average score of their mood states was 3.31. which turned out to be rather low. 3. The mean score of ADL was 1.69, which showed that they didn't have any serious inconveniences in their ordinary lives. 4. The mean score of their nursing need was 275, which proved to be close to the normal level. 5. The higher the room humidity was, the higher their nursing need increased. The higher the degree of illumination level was, the lower the degree of their nursing need was and the higher the level of ADL was. 6. The major factors influencing their moon status were the frequency of their contact with children and room humidity. These two factors could account for $22\%$ of the total mood status. These results suggest that the residential environment should be necessarily considered in the psychological nursing intervention for the elderly who live alone and they should be urgently supported in terms of health policy so that they can maintain the optimum level of illumination during the daytime.

Comparison of the Lighting Environment in Study Rooms for Juveniles between the City and the Country

  • The research aims at providing data needed for planning the lighting of a study room by comparing the lighting environments of study rooms for urban and rural juveniles. The subject of the research was 300 students in middle schools in Daegu and Checngdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do (Daegu 150 houses and Cheongdo 150 houses), and their study rooms were examined. The following is the result of the research. First, rural students stayed more time in their study room than urban students. The task that rural students (studying) and urban students (studying and using computer) all did in their study room was mainly visual work Second, although the sizes of rural study rooms were bigger than those of urban study rooms, urban study rooms had more light sources than rural study rooms. In the rate that of having a task lighting, the city(87.1[%]) was higher than the country (45.7[%]). However, the rate of using a task lighting was lot high in both the city and the country. Third, the result that compared the average values of illuminations on desk planes was that the average value of the city was 3.4 times higher than that of the country. Also, the average value of the country did not meet the standard illumination of Korean industrial standards (KS). In particular, it did not reach the lowest standard. The result is related with that only 52[%] of students who had a task lighting used it. Finally, the satisfaction of lighting environment in the city was generally higher than the country. Especially, although the country had a low illumination, the user showed a high satisfaction. It indicates that people living in the country need to understand about the needs of illumination.

칼라 항상성에 기초한 벡터 회전을 이용한 칼라 영상 향상 (Color Image Enhancement Using Vector Rotation Based on Color Constancy)

  • Color image is largely corrupted by various ambient illumination. However, human perceives always white color as white under any illumination because of a characteristic of human vision, called color constancy. In the conventional algorithm which applied the constancy effect, after the RGB color space is transformed to the IHS(Intensity, Hue, and Saturation) color space, then the hue is preserved and the intensity or the saturation is properly enhanced. Then the enhanced IHS color is reversely transformed to the RGB color space. In this process, the color distortion is included due to the color gamut error. But in the proposed algorithm, there is not transformation. In that, the RGB color is considered as 3 dimensional color vector and we assume that white color is the natural daylight. As the color vector of the illumination can be calculated as the average vector of R, G, and B image, we can achieve the constancy effect by simply rotating the illumination vector to the white color vector. The simulation results show the efficiency of the vector rotating process for color image enhancement.
