  • This paper deals with the effect of the auxiliary pole core in the automotive starter motor on its characteristics. This motor is excited by the permanent magnet and has auxiliary pole core in the stator. The auxiliary pole core is a device to increase the effective flux to obtain the starling torque and prevent the demagnetization of the permanent magnet from the starting current. It Is important to design the auxiliary pore core. And overhang structure causes the electromagnetic phenomenon of 3-dimensional flux Path. Therefore. the characteristic analysis is achieved by the 2-dimensional Finite Element Method (FEM) with the compensated model and the 3-dimensional Equivalent Magnet Circuit Network (3D EMCN). The mechanical loss and the brush and coil resistance are separated from the various experiment of the tested motor, and then these factor are reflected on the analysis results. The validity of the proposed analysis method is verified by comparing the experimental and analysis results. The effects of the design parameters related to the auxiliary pole cote on the motor performance are analyzed by the proposed method.

전기자 분산배치 집중권 PMLSM의 단부 효과 저감을 위한 보조극과 보조치 조합에 관한 연구 (A Study on Auxiliary Pole and Teeth Combinations for Edge Effect Reduction of Stationary Discontinuous Armature PM-LSM with Concentrated winding)

  • Recently, the stationary discontinuous armature Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor(PM-LSM) was suggested as a driving source for long-distance transportation system. However, as these motors arrange armatures discontinuously, there occurs an edge which causes the cogging force. This works as a factor that bothers acceleration and deceleration that takes place when movers enter into and eject from the armatures. Therefore, installation of auxiliary teeth on the edge of armature of PM-LSM is suggested in order to reduce cogging force caused by the edge when the armature is placed in a discontinuous arrangement. But length of auxiliary teeth can be changed if install it with auxiliary pole in order to decrease more and more edge cogging force. On this, in the study, decided on a design variable of auxiliary teeth and used 2-D FEA, and examined edge cogging force characteristic along this in order to grasp length of auxiliary teeth changed according to installation positions of an auxiliary pole.

  • This paper proposes a new auxiliary resonant commutated pole (ARCP) inverter which has a modified auxiliary circuit. The proposed auxiliary circuit includes two auxiliary IGBT switches, an LC resonant circuit, and two clamping diodes. In order to analyze the performance of proposed ARCP inverter, computer simulations with PSCAD, and hardware experiments were carried out. Through analyzing the experimental results, it is known that the proposed ARCP inverter offers efficiency improvement of 1.5% compared with the hard-switching inverter.

  • In this paper, a direct adaptive pole placement controller for an unknown linear time-invariant single-input single-output nonminimum phase plant is proposed. To design this direct adaptive pole placement controller, the auxiliary signals are introduced. Consequently, a linear equation error model is formulated for estimating both the controller parameters and the additional auxiliary parameters. To estimate the controller parameters and the additional auxiliary parameters, the exponentially weighted least-squares algorithm is implemented, and a method of selecting the characteristic polynomials of the sensitivity function filters is proposed. In this method, all the past measurement data are weighted exponentially. A series of simulations for a nonminimum phase plant is presented to illustrate some features of both the parameter estimation and the output response of this adaptive pole placement controller.

영전압 스위칭 3-레벨 보조 공진 폴 인버터 (Zero-voltage-switching three level auxiliary resonant commutated pole inverter)

  • A zero voltage switching (ZVS) three level auxiliary resonant commutated pole inverter (ARCPI) is presented for high power GTO inverters. The concept of ARCP for two level inverter is extended to the three inverter. The proposed auxiliary commutation circuit consists of one resonant inductor and two bi-directional switches, which provides ZVS condition to the main devices without increasing device voltage or current stresses. The auxiliary device operates with zero current switching (ZCS) which enables use of the low cost thyristors. The proposed ARCPI can handle higher voltage and higher power (1-10MVA) comparing to the two level one. Operation and analysis of the ARCPI are illustrated and the features are compared o those of the snubber circuit incorporated three level inverter. Experimental results with 10kW, 4kHz prototype are presented to verify the principle of operation. (author). refs., figs., tab.

  • In this paper, novel unidirectional auxiliary resonant commutated pole is proposed to improve the performance of zero-voltage soft-switching inverter. The proposed circuit keeps the advantages of the original soft-switching inverter, while providing more effective resetting capability in magnetizing current. Based on the advanced reset mechanism, auxiliary switches operate under a complete zero-current condition. The operating principle and steady-state analysis are presented theoretically, according to its operating modes. Accordingly, it proves the fact that the proposed unidirectional auxiliary resonant commutated pole breaks an unwanted magnetizing current loop effectively. The performance of the proposed circuit is verified by several simulation results.

  • Capacitor-run single-phase induction motor is cheaper than motors that use permanent magnets and is widely used in home appliances and industries based on relatively high durability and productivity. It can also be operated by line. However speed cannot be controlled because the line frequency is free. In this paper we dealt pole change method one of the method controlling speed of capacitor-run single-phase induction motor. The conventional pole change method is difficult to improve the power and efficiency of the motor because the composition of the pole change device is complex and do not have enough area of the windings because of windings not used according to the driving conditions. In this paper, we proposed the pole change method that is used main windings and auxiliary windings at 4 poles operation and used auxiliary windings as compensation windings at 2 poles operation. The proposed method was verified through finite element analysis.

  • 최근 반송장치 시스템의 구동원으로 전기자 분산배치를 이용한 영구자석 리니어 동기 모터가 사용되고 있다. 하지만, 전기자 분산배치를 이용한 영구자석 리니어 동기 모터는 구조상 필연적으로 단부가 존재하게 된다. 이러한 이유로 전기자의 철심과 가동자의 영구자석 사이에 단부 코깅력이 발생한다. 본 논문은 유한요소법을 이용한 2차원 수치해석을 통해 단부 코깅력을 고찰하였다. 또한, 단부 코깅력을 최소화하기 위해 가동자에 보조극을 설치한 형상을 제안하였다.

  • This note presents a direct adaptive pole assignment control for general discrete, linear, time-invariant, nonmimum phase system.Controller parameters are estimated from the recursive least-squares algorithm, and some additional auxiliary parameters are obtained from aset of recursive equations based on a certain polynomial identity which is derived from the pole assignment equation and the Bezout identity. This scheme increase the numerical stability of the auxiliary parameters, and guarantees local convergence without any extra conditions for the external input. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by the computer simulation.
