  • As the on-board electric devices determine the performances of vehicles, production of reliable devices is important. To keep the reliability of devices constant, management of performance evaluation of the on-board devices is crucial. Because temperature bas a serious effect on failures of the components of the devices, its measurement is the first step for good management. In this study, we described performance characteristics of domestic auxiliary block developed through G7 project. We measured the performances of auxiliary block during test running by the developed on-line measurement system. After we save the input real-time data from each signal of Korean High Speed Train through the network line, we can acquire necessary information through Post-Processing program. We verify the auxiliary converter characteristics of Korean High Speed Train by this system.

  • Flexible structures may experience excessive levels of vibration under the action of wind, adversely affecting serviceability and occupant comfort. To ensure the functional performance of a structure, various design modifications are possible, ranging from alternative structural systems to the utilization of passive and active control devices. This paper presents an overview of state-of-the-art measures that reduce the structural response of buildings, including a summary of recent work in aerodynamic tailoring and a discussion of auxiliary damping devices for mitigating the wind-induced motion of structures. In addition, some discussion of the application of such devices to improve structural resistance to seismic events is also presented, concluding with detailed examples of the application of auxiliary damping devices in Australia, Canada, China, Japan, and the United States.

  • This paper proposed the optimal operational scheduling of cogeneration system for paper mill connected with several auxiliary devices. Auxiliary devices that include auxiliary boilers, waste heat boilers and sludge incinerators operate with multi-cogeneration systems. Especially environment element was considered in objective function to solve the environment problem. And GAs(Genetic Algorithms) was applied to optimize and to analyse nonlinear operational property of cogeneration system of paper mill connected with several auxiliary devices. C-language was used to GAs computation. Electricity can be purchased through power system from utility. The proposed operational strategy on cogeneration system for paper mill to increase energy efficiency can be applied to the similar cogeneration system of industrial field.

  • The lighting devices using organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) are actively researched because of the various advantages such as high power efficiency and 2-dimensitonal lighting emitting. To commercialize those OLED lighting devices, the manufacturing cost must be downed to comparable price with conventional light sources. Here, we demonstrate a reverse gravure-offset or gravure off-set printed metal electrode for the auxiliary electrode for OLED lighting devices. For the fabricated OLED's auxiliary electrode, we used Ag nano-paste and printed metal grid structure with a line width and spacing of several ten and hundred micrometer by using gravure-offset printing. In the end the printing metal grid pattern are successfully achieved by optimization of various experimental conditions such as printing pressure, printing speed and printing delay time.

  • Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the removal of halitosis and use of oral hygiene devices. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 300 patients visiting to dental clinics in Gyeonggi-do from May to June, 2013. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, oral health related characteristics, satisfaction of oral hygiene devices were measured. Results : Halitosis accounted for 11.0% in dental clinic visit. In order to remove halitosis, dental floss is the most satisfactory and effective method of all auxiliary oral hygiene devices. Conclusions : A variety of auxiliary oral hygiene devices are being sold and used to remove halitosis. It is important to choose the most effective oral hygiene devices to remove halitosis.

  • In this paper a new zero voltage transition PWM bridgeless PFC is introduced. The auxiliary circuit provides soft switching condition for all semiconductor devices. Also, in the resonant path of the auxiliary circuit, only two semiconductor devices exist. Therefore the resonant conduction losses are low. Furthermore, the auxiliary circuit semiconductor elements consist of only one diode and one switch. The proposed auxiliary circuit is applied to a bridgeless PFC converter to further reduce conduction and switching losses. In this paper, the operating modes of this converter are explained and the resulting ideal and simulation waveforms are shown. The presented experimental results justify the theoretical analysis.

  • This study introduces a novel Soft Switching (SS) Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) AC-DC boost converter. In the proposed converter, the main switch is turned on with Zero Voltage Transition (ZVT) and turned off with Zero Current Transition (ZCT). The main diode is turned on with Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) and turned off with Zero Current Switching (ZCS). The auxiliary switch is turned on and off with ZCS. All auxiliary semiconductor devices are turned on and off with SS. There is no extra current or voltage stress on the main semiconductor devices. The majority of switching energies are transferred to the output by auxiliary transformer. Thus, the current stress of auxiliary switch is significantly reduced. Besides, the proposed converter has simple structure and ease of control due to common ground. The theoretical analysis of the proposed converter is verified by a prototype with 100 kHz switching frequency and 500 W output power. Furthermore, the efficiency of the proposed converter is 98.9% at nominal output power.

  • A new SPWM inverter using three-phase boost converter by auxiliary partial resonant with high power factor and high efficiency is proposed. The proposed boost converter is constructed by using a resonant network in parallel with the switch of the conventional boost converter. The devices are switched at zero voltage or zero current eliminating the switching loss. A new Partial resonant boost converter achieves zero-voltage switching (ZVS) or zero-current switching (ZCS) for all switch devices without increasing their voltage and current stresses. This paper introduces elimination of low-order harmonics compared with conventional SPWM inverter and SPWM inverter using three-phase boost converter by auxiliary Partial resonant.
